I did a lot of research before settling on this smart watch. I've tried 5 different brands over the years. This one so far has exceeded my expectations. I really didn't think it would stand up to the reviews. It has been out for a while and is flying under the radar. Definitely not as flashy and well known as the Fossil I had previously. But sometimes change can be a good thing. The battery life is actually just as good as claimed. I can go over 12 hours easily on a charge. I don't need to carry around an extra charger like with the Fossil or MK. Both had TERRIBLE battery life. I changed up the look from the boring black (which is only option unfortunately) by adding a metal band and face cover. Now it looks more appealing. I actually like the side button being on the left side. It is recessed and doesn't get bumped into by my wrist like others. All the buttons on right side was annoying at times. The update of the Wear OS fixed all previous issues. It is responsive, does not crash, and is overall very impressive for an older watch. Can't be beat for the $100 price tag. I really like this thing. Great purchase :)

I purchased this watch from Best Buy in Mission Viejo 3 weeks ago. I have to stress how important it is to follow Mobvoi's advice when they say to fully charge and discharge the battery 3 times. My first charge lasted only 3 hours, second charge about 5 hours and the third charge lasted about 7. After that I now get anywhere from 15-24 hours on a single charge. Just a note, the watch does not come with the new Wear OS but will download and install after about the second charge. It won't upgrade until you have the battery life to do so. When it does upgrade it will blow your mind. I wanted a lightwieght watch with NO sim card. This fits the bill. I can still leave my phone behind if I choose during a hike where you have no cell reception and when I get home the watch sync's up to my phone and shares the GPS and BPM data. Not to mention a watch with a sim card will add about $10-15 to your monthly cell phone bill. What good is that if you hike or camp where there is no available signal? The watch itself is fantastic! The menu is easy to learn and navigate. It feels light and comfortable. I was going to order another band before I even used the watch but didn't. This rubber band is super comfy and durable, looks better IRL compared to the pictures. The whole matte black finish gives this watch an impressive look. Performance and durability shocked me! 2.5 weeks ago my buddy and I went backpacking in the Sequioa's and hiked a tough technical trail. We crossed streams, climbed over and over fallen trees, and went through brush. The watch was hot from the sun, sweaty and dirty. I can tell you right now, this watch does NOT need a screen protector. On the trail we compared the Ticwatch GPS to an Android phone and USMC issued Garmin wrist GPS unit. The Ticwatch locked on to GPS just as fast as the miliary unit. After a brutal 6 hour hike we compared the three devices and found the Ticwath to only slightly vary from the Garmin. That is only because two different people where wearing the devices. If someone was to steal my watch or I lost it today would I buy a new one tomorrow? You bet I would! If you want accurate reliable gear at an entry level price, this is it! Thank you Mobvoi for bringing us this amazing piece of gear at such an affordable price!

This watch had a few quirks with it initially, but all in all it works out to be a very decent device. Right off the bat I'm going to express to you. If you have a Fitbit blaze, charge 2 or versa, swapping to this wouldn't really be an upgrade unless you want greater app compatibility as the limited notifications of the Fitbit wearables can be very annoying at times. Also this watch has a very poor battery endurance compared to really, any Fitbit device. You will be charging this one a day or multiple times a day depending on how active you are and the settings you use. Speaking of settings, this watch destroys battery life if you leave the default settings enabled to keep the screen on always. Just set the screen to only turn on when you flick your wrist makes the device last at least 2 days with moderate use as apposed to simply a "workday" Also another thing to note. This watch has a heart rate monitor however it's -only mainly used during workout activity and generally never on- i find that with workout activities on, the watch seemingly drains the battery just as fast as having the screen on all the time so honestly it's a bit of a hassle to use. Performance on the other hand is fine. It isn't the fastest watch but it gets the job done. There also can be a slight delay with waking the watch up but usually it's something I got used to after playing around with it All in all.. If you can deal with charging it everyday If you can deal with it being a little slow compared to the completion If you can deal with it inability to monitor your body's heart rate and sleep patterns like a dedicated Fitbit does Then this watch is fine fine you, especially being that it's a lot cheaper too.

Realistically this watch works wonders but it is very underpowered compared to others. However personally i haven't really used the other models, but being that most others are running the Snapdragon quad core processor, this one being a dual core isn't as quick. I will say however just because this one has an underperforming processor, does not mean this is bad, actually quite the opposite. To be fair i didn't even realize the processor was the MediaTek model that had similar functions until i actually looked up this unit. And in all fairness, it performs really well regardless. The only downside to this watch is its batterylife. You just cannot get a single days worth of use out of this watch with the always on display active. That must be off, and even then you get about 36 hours max out of this unit so recharging it daily is pretty much a must. Again this isn't too much of a hassle but its dependent upon user. Being that i came from a fitbit to this, the one downside i will also have to say is this watch does not monitor your heart rate 24/7. Which means it does not obtain your sleep patterns either, which, again, drains the battery heavily with it on, especially when you are exercising . I will say, while you are working out it usually is very accurate so there isn't much of an issue there, just you can't be in that mode all the time otherwise you'll be charging this unit a ton. Lastly i suppose recharging is very quick on here. Taking about an hour to fully charge which is very nice, but also quite annoying because you have to take the watch off to charge. Honestly its hard to recommend this watch because on one hand. Its really good. only 140$ compared to most other watches costing 2/3x that price, Customizable watch faces. Heart rate sensors, workout sensors. All day battery*** But on the opposite end of the spectrum, It doesn't monitor your heart rate all the time. Battery life is very poor, but most other watches are similar. a little slow during bootup and checking time with display off.

      Hello Xeiyros,

Yes, none of our products yet released have the newest Snapdragon. Also 24/7 heart rate is not on the Ticwatch E or S (though it is present with the Ticwatch Pro). You may attempt to extend battery life via three power cycles of letting the watch completely drain or turning off items you may not need on 24/7 in the connectivity settings.

Thank you for taking the time to give a comprehensive and balanced review of our product. We hope you give future products a chance in hope of improving in the future!

    Decent Watch for the Price

Overall this watch is decent, especially since it is a full smart watch priced close to a hybrid. Once I was done playing with the features, and figured out which features were important, battery life has been at least long enough to last through the day. When the watch is in battery saver mode and/or airplane mode, the battery lasts several days. Currently, I am able to keep the watch display in "always on" mode and keep Bluetooth on; and the battery lasts all day. (I charge my phone each night, so adding a watch to my charge routine is not a deal breaker) To help battery life, I did a couple of full discharge/recharge cycles when I got the watch as recommended. Since the watch can communicate with my phone through WiFi, I can use IFTTT to have my phone turn Bluetooth on only when it loses the WiFi connection to save my battery on my phone. As noted by others, and with many Wear OS watches, sometimes the display-on wrist motion does not trigger the display quickly, and the watch has to be touched to see the time. The watch is also thick compared to other watches, but this is a trade-off to reduce the overall watch face diameter. The Wear OS 2.0 update has also helped, and the update was pushed to the watch within a couple of days of the announcement. Finally, also as noted by others, the Mobvoi app is weak, and feels like an advertisement. The Wear OS app is better, but not great. Most of my interaction with settings occurs directly through the watch interface. The watch functions as a timepiece as well as an extension of my phone interaction, so I have little reason to use the apps.

      Hello MadHatter!

Thanks for your review of our watch, we appreciate the time you spent observing it. WearOS 2.0 has certainly been a slight upgrade over the previous software on our watches according to most of our users. You have also done what was recommended to gain the most battery life as well.

We have been given critique on the Wrist-twist screen gesture not being the most responsive. Our internal team will hopefully improve upon this in future products. The Mobvoi team appreciates you looking into your watch and all its functions to make an educated analyisis.

I've owned various Smartwatches and I do love this watch. It's inexpensive compared to most watches and gives you features most watches won't offer like a speaker and being able to take calls on the watch. It's very lightweight and stylish for it's prices I would highly recommend this watch if you're looking for something on a budget or just need something for daily use to avoid using a watch you're trying to take care of.

Ticwatch E is a great value. The watch has all of the sensors you expect but at a surprising price. Also, it has surprising features like quick charge that enable you to get over an hour of battery life with only a 15 minute charge and it works great with both Android and iOs. Keep in mind with iPhone on Wear OS (formerly Android wear) you can see who is calling and either answer or decline the call but you can not talk through the watch the audio will route through head phones or the phone. Which is fine for me. Also, you can read texts but you can not respond to them. Even with this I prefer Wear Os with an iPhone over the Apple Watch because it is built around cards and quick notifications and not apps and downloads that are hard to do on a small screen. Ticwatch E is my favorite Wear OS watch because of its features, price, and style. Overall, it is a great alternative that works with any Android or Apple phone. I would also say to get better battery life keep in mind to use have it set to use phone GPS when available and to have wrist gestures enabled to keep the screen from staying on all the time.

I got this mainly for a running watch and I didn't like that the S had the GPS in the strap in case I need to replace that. Pros: Cheap GPS Local storage for offline music Comfortable New wearOS makes makes usability much nicer Magnetic charging cable is easy Cons: Battery life is only ok Drains battery life still when not being worn, even with screen off Heart rate monitor struggles to be accurate during some activities No default periodic heart rate, need app It works pretty well as a running watch. The GPS is accurate and I can hook up my blue tooth local music. The heart rate monitor seems to struggle a bit to give me accurate numbers. Sometimes it does and other times it doesn't but this isn't abnormal for wrist based trackers. It is at least accurate when not working out. The cost is the kicker here, it is cheap enough to forgive its shortcomings and now I don't have to run with a phone!

Can’t beat the value of this watch. For its price and features it’s definately a great value. Looks good and operates well. Lots of apps to choose from off the App Store if you like. I have yet to find a app that I use on my phone that sends me notifications that the watch won’t display which is really nice even though it’s iOS vs google operating systems. Only complaint is the battery, it only lasts a day so you have to charge it nightly. But that’s not the end of the world. Definately recommend checking this out and not paying $300 for a name brand that does the same.

I've waited a long time since my old Texas Instruments red LED watch from the 70s died, but I finally got the functionality one could only dream of back then. An attractive sale price got me to notice and purchase this watch, and wearing it for several weeks made me realize how useful it is - even with a few small drawbacks. Do not expect the power and versatility of a smart phone on your wrist. Apps are limited to a few helpful features (weather, health/steps, top headlines, etc., but do you really need to play games or watch movies on a screen slightly larger than a half-dollar? What I have enjoyed the most is the endless selection of free and affordable watch faces that I can change any time. My strongest complaint is the daytime watch face, when activated, is not displayed for a longer period of time. It can be hard to locate all the information you need before the watch face goes dark again. The Bluetooth works well and pairs easily with my phone, allowing me to receive texts, listen to music or change Pandora or Spotify stations. The battery life is good and can last a day or longer. The magnetic USB charger cord attaches with ease and seems to charge quickly. One other concern is its thickness, which can be a problem with some long-sleeved shirts not fitting over the watch. I like the black, minimalist design and matte finish, and the rubber watch band is very comfortable. I think the wait was worth it.

      Hello 3rd Man!

Thank you for sharing your experience with the watch. It's true that the standard watch face will only stay lit for a period of time before dimming. You either have to touch it or go into Display Settings to enable the "Always On" option. This will chew away at battery life, but your watch face will remain illuminated.

Thanks again for giving our watch a try and sharing your honest opinion like so many here!

Really good watch, especially once you consider the price point, good battery life once you train the watch, nice amount of features (GPS, speaker, heart rate monitor, nice display, etc). For the price I got it at ($114.99) it's a great deal. It definitely feels cheap but not in a bad way, and it's really lightweight. I wear it while doing VR and working out and I barely notice it is there. Battery life is easily a full day with some to spare on a heavy day and on a light day you could maybe get a day and half, possibly two depending on your use case.

Battery life - Average. It lasts a day when using it heavily. If seldom used and only the time function is used, it can last for several days. The more active apps running at the background, the faster the battery runs out. Watch faces - there's lots of watch faces you can download. Some are free and some can be purchased. Snappiness and responsiveness - the more you load it and the less you delete messages, the slower it becomes. I recommend you don't put a lot of apps or watch faces in it. Put only the ones you need daily. Phone app - I'm annoyed with the inapp purchases and I dont like apps asking if they can access my phone contacts and other private information. Screen - a bit flimsy and not so bright in bright sunlight, but still usable. Compared to other smart watches (iWatch and Galaxy watches) - I prefer the galaxy watch since I am a samsung galaxy user. Mobvoi E i have is a bit flimsy and light, still great for everyday use.

I purchased this as a gift for myself. The watch is nicely made. It took a few minutes to set it up. I placed it on the charger, and it took a while to get the full charge. The charger hook up can be a bit bothersome. It is easy, but if moved or bumped can easily disconnected resulting in a unfinished charge. This is the only thing that I wish was better, but I would not give the watch a bad rating because of it. I figured the company may change this in the future. The first charge didn't last but 7-8 hours. After the following charges it lasted a lot longer. I now get more than a full day of battery life in a charge. The watch has a battery energy setting which can assist in saving the battery when needed. This is a wonderful application added to the watch. Face glass is pretty resilient. The apps like Facebook will allow you to see your messages. It's not an app that you can surf on. Just putting that out there. I do love that you can download some apps that are connected to your phone like Over Drive library app that allows you to listen to your audiobooks. This is a nice app. It also has weather. The health app is very similar to IOS. The quality is there. The speaker on the watch isn't super loud, but you can since a head set or speaker to the watch. This is great for instuctors teaching dance, and exercise classes. I would love to be a tester for the Mobvoi company to test their Tic watches. I can't say enough about them. I would definitely suggest that you try this watch. Reasonable. Love my Tic watch!

This is an awesome watch. Wear OS, I love the concept. Tons of apps for the watch. The heart rate was very accurate, for me. I tightened the straps when I would work out so the artifacts due to wobble are avoided. But even without that, the HR seemed accurate. The GPS signal acquisition was fairly quick. Bluetooth connection (BLE) for headphones, is robust. I went on runs with music in the phone and BLE headphones, no smartphone. It works great. The only thing that was trouble was the speed of some of the applications like Google maps and assistant. I saw that there was a visible lag even when connected through the smart phone Bluetooth or the WiFi. The built in speaker is not very loud and lower quality of sound. But I think I can live with that for a watch. I dont see a huge use case for these speakers. The Google assistant worked good too, except for the lag. The biggest bad for me, was the battery life. I knew going in, that the battery life is not stellar. The first charge it gave me 5 hours from 100% to 0%. About 9 hours on the second charge. And third charge gave me almost 36 hours. After that I was getting an average 32-40 hrs of battery life. GPS and always on display, off. IF you disable the tilt to wake feature and rely on key press to wake up, it will give you another 3 hrs or so. But under 2 days of battery life.. I thought I can live with that, but I guess not. I think I expect more battery life on a watch. Its not that piece of electronics i expect to charge everyday. It is a wearable and I would like to forget the charging on most days. I guess, that is my opinion after having tried this wearable. I would not blame it on the Mobvoi design, since the current WearOS platform chips are not well suited for the low power needs, I talk about. I guess, I will wait for the platform to stabilize. There are some new watches with the new snapdragon 3100 chips which are expected to be lower power. But will wait for some reviews before diving in. If Mobvoi were to make the Ticwatch E (at that price point) with a much longer battery life (like 4-7 days, charge once a week), I would buy it. If you are not very particular about the battery life of the smartwatch (you love the apple watch), then the TicWatch E is the best bang for the buck. If you dont want to charge your watch every day, then Ticwatch is not right for you. But I believe Mobvoi have got the recipe right for the smart watch, just were disadvantaged because of the drawbacks of the WearOS platform.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      Hello Kannan!

Thanks for your comprehensive review of our watch! You've covered a number on our major features here already! Yes, the speakers on the watch are not going to be very loud, as it's a lot of hardware to fit inside the watch to begin with. We are glad to accept your feedback about our battery life! The Ticwatch Pro product would be a slightly better fit for this concern than the E in this case.

We appreciate the time you've spent on this and hope you keep observing our products.
