Rugged enough for regular use - odd design
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This Modal Folio Case (10th Gen iPad) provides sufficient protection with all the appropriate openings for ports and speakers. The material is a tough rubber material; though, I can't tell if it's vulcanized or not. There are rubberized "crumple zones" on the corners to protect your iPad from drops. Another benefit of this case is that it has a space available for your Apple Pencil. I would say this is an appropriate case for regular use and will be able to sustain the standard height drop. I would not say this is the best case for a young child to use as I don't believe it's designed for that amount of physical damage. I think the part that I'm befuddled by is the design- its physical design appears as though it's intended for more rugged activities (e.g. construction or military) but it's not tough enough for such activities. In addition, that space for the Apple Pencil - that area becomes a weak spot when/if the pencil is not in that open space as there is no reinforcement to its structure. Overall, this product is perfectly sufficient with some added cushion for the occasional accident.
