A great album, Beck's best

I love this album, and have listened to it many times since purchasing it. Beck's sublime talent really shines on this album, and his collaboration with Danger Mouse really makes this piece of work truly excellent. With a blend of rock-pop and 60's psychedelia, Beck has produced one of if not the best album of his career. Every track has a punch, starting off with the sublime Orphans, and blending into a very catchy Gamma Ray. The whole album works together perfectly. I only wish it was longer than 32 or so minutes! One of my favorite albums to date, I highly recommend this if you like Beck.

By most standards, Modern Guilt is a great cd. There's not a song that isn't enjoyable and some that are quite magnificent. Why, then, is Modern Guilt maybe just a little bit underwhelming? Is it because we're so used to Beck making quality music that it has to be as beautiful and interesting as The Information, Sea Change or Odelay to stand out? Or is it because this cd, unlike many of his others, doesn't mark a radical shift in his style, instead perhaps simplifying the style adopted for his last record? Maybe, in the end, it's just too short, clocking in at just about thirty-four minutes. Maybe it's the abrupt endings within the record, putting a stop to some of the better tracks without warning and seeming to stunt their potential. By any other artist's standards, Modern Guilt is a great record, but by Beck's, these flaws stand out. Also, if you're wondering about Danger Mouse's influence, well, it's more heavy on the bass.

Beck is still in his world. If you want to listen to Beck’s music this CD will do it!
After all the success he has not lost his sensibility and stick to what he had instead of making catchy cheap music like some other bands…
Track 2 Gamma Ray is easy to listen but also good after 3 months
