Best Indoor Antenna I've Used - Ever

I have tried every antenna in the book. I dumped cable TV a few years ago (still have cable internet), and made the choice to only receive broadcast TV. I just love these Mohu's and really don't look at any other indoor variety anymore. I have two of these Mohu's and just ordered two more. I get more channels with both of these on two bedroom TV's than I do with my two attic antennas that cost me several hundred dollars to have installed. I live in a city about 10-25 miles from most of the local broadcast towers, but they are in different directions, and so I have struggled getting all of them at once with stationary antennas. The amplified version has a USB power plug, so you can plug it directly into your TV for power, if it has a USB port. If not, there is an included USB power adapter so you can plug it into an outlet. The amplifier itself is very small and thin, and integrates/fits well between the coax cable to the TV and the antenna. The antenna has a black side and a white side, and appears to get the same reception with either side against the wall, though it is somewhat directional in terms of which wall you place it on. There are four push-pins included and the antenna has two holes in the top corners so you don't have to pierce it. If you're <25 miles or so from the transmitters, the non-amplified version will work just fine. I have one 50-mile amplified and a 30-mile non-amplified, and see little difference in performance in my area (Omaha, NE). In fact, if your signal strength is strong, the amp might present a problem with signal overload. There is no material difference between the 30 and 50-mile antennas other than that the 50-mile has an amp included, and the 30-mile does not. The amp, however, is a separate unit (not permanently attached to the antenna) and you do not have to use it with the antenna. Great design and yes, great performance. I have yet to see a better-performing indoor antenna.

I live in an old apartment complex: while there is a cable outlet in my living room, there is not one in my bedroom. I bought an amplified antenna for my bedroom TV 5-6 yrs ago, which managed to get me only three channels with decent reception. Research taught me that my particular geographic location didn't have the most ideal placement to get good signals; but all signs indicated I should be able to get at least 20 channels via a decent antenna. Saw this antenna advertised, read the reviews.... As I saw suggested in another review I went to the Mohu website first and entered my zip code to see what it'd say. It indicated I should be able to get 26 stations - a huge improvement over what I was getting to this point. And I figured even if I didn't get that many it was a win if I managed to double my current number. So I decided to buy this antenna and give it a try. Now I get 21 channels - all of the local channels in my area + extras I'd never heard of and already have grown to like. It's not even an amplified antenna & it pulls 7 times more channels than my old one - plus this frees up a wall outlet in my bedroom so that's a plus. The antenna is very low-profile: it's very thin and has two pin holes in the upper corners so you can pin it to your wall (thumbtacks included). The white side is a perfect white - whereas my bedroom walls are not - but I still hardly notice it. And all 21 channels I get from the antenna are strong: no snow and no hiccups. I'm so glad I bought this b/c now I can relax in bed watching TV if I wish, instead of having to stay in the living room to do so. Definitely worth the buy.

    Best Indoor Antenna Yet...

I've tried at least 6 antennas(amplified, non amplified) over the past 5 years over 2 locations and this one be far works the best. I have also worked the most with finding the best location for this one since it had the overall best reviews from many different test sites. Taking the time with placement and rescanning may be the key with any antenna? After doing some antenna research I thought I would use a coax extension to use extra coax cable I have laying around and extend the supplied coax cable so I could move the antenna around the room to find the best location. I tried the window, behind TV, above TV, and extending as far as supplied cable would let me above right and left of TV. It would pick up different channels at different locations but not NBC or PBS together. I attached my extension and started placement again finding that in corner of room about 13 feet away from TV walla! I picked up all my local stations even the hard to reach ones. There were actually 2 good locations the other one about same distance in middle of wall. I think NBC is the hardest signal to pick up in my area because many of the other antenna's would never even pick up the signal no matter how many different setups I tried. So once I got it to pick up NBC( took about 5 placements) with scan I just left it on that station and moved the antenna around the room again to find where I got the strongest signal. Placed it at 2 good spots and rescanned. DONE! ALL THE CHANNELS IN! Maybe it was taking the time with finding a good spot and doing a little research but I know I am very satisfied with this product. As I said there were many other set ups that would not pick up NBC, PBS at all and this one definitely works well.

.. this is it! On a scale of 1-10, I'm about an 8 or so when it comes to being tech saavy. But there seemed to be so many antenna brands and styles and features to sift through, it's hard to separate fact from fiction. After doing my online homework, I bought this model at my local BB. Got it home, unboxed it, and screwed it in to the back of my 55" LG 4K tv on the wall. I have a tilt and swing out wall mount which made it easy. I just laid down the flat mat top of the antenna while I ran the channel scan. The very first channel that came on, showed a brilliant picture! I mean it was great! I watched Survivor for a full hour without hanging the antenna, and NO PIXELATION at all! The color was almost brilliant and the definition was as close to 4k as you could get without being broadcast in 4K (that's years away I fear). The coax cord was more than long enough (15') but is white, so I got one of my pre-owned black cables and use that instead. I'm on the 2nd/top floor of an apartment building, down a bank from the main street and near tall trees and a Walmart store. And yet still no problem at all with reception. I've had cable tv all of my adult life. And I can't tell you how happy I was to take back my 4 cable boxes and cancel my service. I never realized saving money and getting such great picture reception would give me a reason to write a review. Get this antenna soon! .. scott

Old antennae did not get all desired channels in living room and required frequent position changes. Reception with multidirectional leaf is major upgrade no longer requiring position changes to improve reception. Product design is versatile and can be positioned nearly anywhere with having to worry about junking up the living room. When I opened the box I was surprised to find no power cord and nothing but a coaxial cable some hangers and a thin plastic spatula that is the antennae. Wow less wires and better reception, huh. Leaf is currently tacked to back of entertainment center and out of site still getting better reception than old antennae. Only reason I did not rate this a 5, is because I am still unable to get a 1 major broadcast channel in the living room, that has a tower less than 10 miles from my home. I am able to get the channel in room directly above the living room, I guess I will have to look for an alternate location for the antennae if I find it to be that important for me to get the 1 channel I'm missing in the living room. Definitely would recommend this product vs. Others in the same price range. I'm currently using the old ugly rabbit ear style antennae in my bedroom window, because one of the antennae snapped and is currently being held together with electrical tape. It works but i need to make sure not to trip over the wires each time I go in the closet. I'm sure i'll trip and break it soon enough and won't hesitate to go out buy another leaf.

I debated giving it a 4 star because it doesn't pick up all my local channels. I don't get a really big one like ABC. I moved it around but it still will not pick up.I get several channels that no one ever watches, actually n one has ever heard of. I disconnected my cable/satellite service because I'm tired of the bills going up and up. With technology today, I think it should be less. I bought this antenna to watch my local channels and the quality of the 2 I do get is great. I was able to watch the Superbowl using this antenna and I didn't have to pay a cable company to do it. The antenna costs around 30.00 and has paid for itself in the first month. I get 2 of the 3 main local channels here. I'm happy with that. I'll still give it a 5 star for what it does do, but I could give it a 4 star because of what it doesn't do. I would still strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to cut the cord! I'm please with my purchase.

The best thing about this antenna is its design. It's designed to be simple, to be placed out of the way and forgotten about; no pointing necessary. But before you can be able to forget about it, you have to find the right spot for it, which takes some time. Putting it on a wall, search for channels, taking it down, putting it in a window, search for channels, taking it down, putting it higher up, search for channels... In order to get every available channel (HD ones included) you have to find the right spot for it. So don't think you just plug it in, set it and forget it. But once you do, it works. I have all of the broadcast stations in HD. Still though, once you do find the right spot for it, it acts just like any other antenna. Depends on the weather, where you live. Some channels work just fine, others are occasionally spotty, some despite receiving a signal, cut in and out constantly. So on a clear day or night, it works. Otherwise, it acts just like any other antenna.

This is a great antenna if you live within 30 miles of the transmission source (check your distance here: https://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/ Ideally, you want to place the antenna in your home closest to the direction of signal transmission (i.e. if you live north of the transmission tower, you would want the antenna to be on the south side of your home). I first tried to install the Leaf in my home, up against the window and received so-so results. To be fair, my TV is located on the exact opposite side of the house as the transmission towers (go figure). I ended up placing it in the attic, using existing coax cable to connect it to my TV. Remember, you are using an antenna. Flash back to the 70s and remember messing with "rabbit ears"...yeah, you'll be doing something similar to that again. Best to have one person watch the TV and check multiple channels while the other person moves the antenna around. Once I found a spot, I secured the antenna to the wood (it has two small holes that you can place a nail in to hold it). In my area (22 miles from the transmission source), I get 36 channels. The antenna works amazingly well. Just be prepared to do a little signal searching!

I bought this antenna for my sister because she enjoys watching MeTV, Antenna TV and Decades, which are all locally available. She previously had Verizon Fios in Irving, which includes these stations in their normal guide and channel package. She moved to Grapevine in an area which required Time Warner, and they do NOT include those stations in their line up. The item was easy to hook up to the TV. After choosing TV as the Source on the TV remote, I told it to search for stations. It was then a matter of moving the antenna around in various locations. When it reached the right location, the station count on the search immediately started going up. It eventually found around 60 local stations. The antenna was definitely sensitive to the direction of the signal. It picked up stations on the east wall, but when I moved it to the north wall, everything dropped out. It may take some trial and error, but this was my experience in the DFW Mid-Cities area.

Love this. Use with 32" Insignia flat screen. I get the max of the OTA channels in my area. I even get two channels that aren't on the Mohu list for my area - they are over the 30 mile radius. (closer to 40) Thin, easy to hang (included are some tacks and velcro pads) - and the BEST part - the coaxial cable is detatchable so that you can use a longer one with it instead of having to piece them together to make it longer. Excellent choice, works better than another brand I bought previously. If you do decide on this, go to the Mohu website and put in your zip code. It will give you a list of channels you should get with each size of their antennas. Just keep in mind, you may get more like I do.

This is a great antenna if you live in the suburbs or city and you don't watch a lot of channels. Personally, I don't have a lot of time to watch TV at home because of the kind of work that I do and when I watch TV, I usually watch the news channels like CBS, NBC, etc all of which are HD quality. This antenna is perfect for that. I've had no reception problems whatsoever in Middlesex county, NJ. I get around 50 channels when the antenna is placed indoors behind my TV.When I feel like watching movies or TV shows, I usually stream them on Netflix, vudu or amazon prime. The combination of this 30$ antenna and subscription to these streaming sites ( which comes to around 30$/ month) , you end up saving a ton of money on cable bills. Go to http://www.tvfool.com to check the reception in your area and then buy an antenna which meets your needs. This antenna is perfect for me!

I purchased this product as a bundle with a Roku Stick from BestBuy when I cut the cord to save money like many cord cutters. My plan was to use this antanne to pick up the local HD channels for my parents who only watch Univision and Telemundo and to sign up for PS Vue for all my English channels. This antanne did the trick! I was able to pick up 68 channels in HD quality for no additional cost. Amazing! My only frustration with this device is that I had to move it around for Telemundo and Univion quite often because of weak signal or signal interference. I would have these issues in the room but we wanted it in the living room where everyone watches tv. It because such a hassle to do this for two channels that I signed up for Sling Tv on the Roku for their Latin package for $10. This device is perfect for people who only want local channels. The quality is perfect but be warned, you might need to adjust the location of the antanne for the signal to remain clear.

I purchased this antenna after reading a lot of reviews praising that it does a fantastic job. I get some of our local channels (42 out of the 52 listed on Mohu's website that it advertises) but when it rains, we lose about 15 channels. I have tried moving the antenna around the room to see if I would get better reception but it would get progressively worse. I'm considering getting a longer coaxial cable to have it sit on my window which may improve the situation. I live within the 30 mile range of all the local broadcasters so it's definitely not because I live too far away. I'm sure that this would be great for me in a more ideal situation but since it's not an amplified antenna, I'm out of luck for now. It's a great quality product and easy to set up so don't let my experience deter you from this product. On a sunny and ideal day, 36 of the 42 channels I do get are of great quality. Paired with my Roku 3, I was able to cut the cable with huge savings.

if anyone wants to reduce their cable bill: heads up. this $40 antenna is a no brainer to install and brings in all major networks (i.e. ABC, CBS and NBC + plus others) in HDTV for free. Yes - FREE. great way to cut the cable bill. I've added streaming technology (Hulu+ and Netflix for additional $15/month) to satisfy my broadcast needs. For those premium shows that I still want, I download GAME OF THRONES, etc. with my Apple TV. My cable bill has gone from $190/month to $40/month (internet only). My landline phone service is via OOMA ($150 initial investment then FREE ) i pay local taxes only, about $3 bucks a month. HAPPY CAMPER HERE...

I recently cut the cord on cable, and needed an antenna for both tv's in my house. I bought 2 traditional type antennas and didn't get great results from them. I did some research and read only good things about Leaf, so I went and grabbed one. I connected it to the tv in my bedroom because it has horrible signal, and I was so shocked at how many channels it picked up. Not only that but the picture was so clear and not choppy and snowy like before. I played with the position a little, and once I found a good spot, I redid the scan, and now I get even more channels. I am beyond impressed. I'll be picking up another Leaf Mohu for my living room tv. It's a little more expensive than other antennas but it's worth it. You definitely get what you pay for. I'm very pleased. You won't be disappointed with this purchase!

I'll admit, I was cheap and bought some rabbit ears for my main TV in my living room so I could pick up some local channels. It's a pain, always has to be situated just right, I have to sit it on top of a nearby chair to even get signal, as it does nothing behind my TV. Now time to get an antenna for my bedroom. I'd read reviews about these, and liked the design, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I ran the included coax cable behind my television and along the wall, over about 6 feet away, and used the pushpins to attach the receiver to the wall. I ran the channel search on my TV, and was thrilled to see it picked up 3x the amount of channels than the rabbit ears. Once it finished, I put it on Wheel of Fortune (my main reason for them, as I'm a 28-year-old octogenarian), and was so happy to be able to watch the whole program with no cutouts. I've had this installed for two months, and have had great picture quality the entire time. I recommend this to anyone.

In my town, we only have 3 TV Stations nearby. 2, 10-1, 10-2, 38 Channel 10 is 2 miles away from me. Channel 2 is 15 miles away from me. Channel 38 is also 2 miles away. Channel 10 cuts in and out way too much. If I move the antenna and point it to the west, the signal gets better. But that would mean it is directional, wouldn't it? Where I want to mount it (behind the wall mounted TV), it doesn't work that well. Where I do not want to put it (in a window with the cable out in the open) it works great. I have a couple ideas to try to see if it helps, but I don't think this is that great of an item. But then again, we only have these few stations. If you live somewhere where there are a lot more available, then I think you would get much better results.

It finally happened... my cable service went down for a week due to a utility company digging in my neighborhood. I remembered I bought this device along with a Chromecast device. Hooked up the antennae and within 5 minutes I was watching local programming with probably about 15-20 channels to choose from in my area. Connected directly to the TV with no power cables needed, just cable from TV to antennae that was included. Have my cable box connected to HDMI and this to the antennae and I have best of both worlds (maybe one channel with something decent to watch at any given time). Takes up no space whatsoever and most people wouldn't even notice it connected as it is easy to hide. Much better than the old rabbit ears and a converter box if you finally have a newer TV with digital tuners only. If you have an old TV without digital tuner, you would still need a converter box. Still a great solution compared to the antennae in days gone by.

I bought this antenna after a recommendation from a Best Buy employee to hook up with my Direct TV receiver in hopes of being able to pick up local channels. Unfortunately in my case this particular device didn't work for my situation. I placed it in various locations within my room connected to my system but couldn't pick up anything. I do appreciate the aspect that the antenna is light compact and unobtrusive but only wish it worked in my case. I'll perhaps keep trying as antennas are a trial and error situation depending not only upon manufacturer models but also upon one's city/county locality and if the there are any obstructions in the way. Good luck to those out there trying to search for the perfect antenna!

Purchased three of these antennas for use in various parts of the house, upstairs, downstairs, and in the garage in the Brentwood, TN, area. This area south of Nashville and south of the broadcast antennas is known for its hills and the antenna pulls the same stations in every part of the house. Use these web sites to see if a digital TV antenna should work for you: http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/ and http://www.gomohu.com/tv-for-free-front/.
