So I returned this item for a refund.

The sales clerk highly recommended it. Perhaps I purchased the dud on the shelf

Scanned 15 local stations and most of them had perfect High def pictures. Keeping our Comcast Cable but this antenna will be a lifesaver if the cable ever goes out.
