Customers are saying

Customers regard the Leaf 50 Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna with 60-Mile Range highly for its overall performance, providing clear and crisp channels, and its ability to receive a plethora of channels. Signal reception is spotty and transient. One day the antenna will work in one location, the next day it won't. I believe cloud coverage, wind, and anything else interferes with the signal. But when it is working correctly, the picture quality is nice.

This is simply a great product. Everything you need comes in the box. The antenna itself, coax cable, in-line signal amplifier, USB power cord and AC outlet-to USB power adapter. Even push pins and sticky-backed velcro tabs to attach antenna to wall. Installation is super easy. Simply attach coax cable to antenna and amplifier, plug USB cable from amplifier into a USB port on TV or use the supplied power adapter, then plug the amplifier into coax/antenna port on TV. Select Antenna input on TV and that's it. I now have access to 3 dozen+ over-the-air (OTA) TV stations in HD. Seriously considering dropping cable TV completely and saving $135/month and just use broadband/cable internet + OTA TV.

Works well with Sony UHDR TVs, picking up channels clearly. It works even with taller buildings and other structures nearby. It did not work as well with my older Samsung TV - which is still a great TV.

We tried over a dozen locations, and we could get about 80% of the available 40-50 channels. We are about 40 miles from the main antenna [Farnsworth Peak}, and are on the back side of the residence. Tried two other units, but this did better.

Best Buy reps helped me find this product. They asked where I lived in the area to better understand which major city area transmissions I was more likely to pick up. They told me in my area I can tap into two major city frequencies, but typically depending on the geography of the area, some locations needed better range to ensure they got at least one major city's transmissions, and with this product people in my particular area have sometimes been lucky enough to pick up both. Well here's to being lucky and having enough range with this product to pick up all of one and a good number of the other even in hilly and wide-spaced terrain. The product works better than expected, was simple to "install", and gets excellent reception anywhere in our home.

This product was very easy to set up. The flat nature makes it unobtrusive. Good choice of black or white surface. We do not live in a major media market, yet the range is excellent. Highly recommended this antenna.

It is better than paying for cable so I can get the local news and weather. a couple of channels have really old programs, d grade movies, It sometimes has to be re-positioned as the weather causes interference during rain and windstorms.

The Best Buy rep recommended the Mohu Leaf so we gave it a try. In all fairness, it probably would be fine in an area with strong signals but it did not do the job for us and we ended up returning it. Aesthetically it looks pretty much like what it is ... a fairly floppy rectangular piece of plastic. I suppose that could be a plus when trying to hide it behind curtains or a piece of furniture but it won't win any fashion shows. Probably worth a try in stronger signal areas.

I purchased the Mohu HD antenna to pick up local tv stations since I cancelled my cable tv. It was very easy to set up and picked up 15 local channels. Using this along with streaming live tv on a Roku stick+ I will probably save about $100 a month.

Okay, not getting anywhere close to the number of channels it claims I should be getting. Could be the placement behind the TV, but according to the package it should work. CS says I should try moving it to a window, but who wants this rectangle obstructing the view outside. The picture quality is good for the channels I do actually get.

Hi there, Doc! Thank you for your honest review of our Mohu Leaf 50 Amplified HDTV Antenna. In order for your antenna to achieve the best possible signal reception, we highly recommend you placing your antenna in front of your TV, instead of behind it. High up or closest to a window is always best. You may also want to run a channel scan without the included amplifier to see if you may receive more channels. In most cases an amplifier isn’t necessary unless TV signals in your area are low power, or you have longer cable runs to multiple TV. If these tips do not help, please contact our Customer Care Team again at 877-825-5572. We will troubleshoot for you to pinpoint what the problem could be. We will also have tips on how to improve your reception in general while facing certain obstacles. We are available 7 days a week to help! Thank you. Mohu

Compared to my 10yr old Terk antenna, this has been the next best antenna that I've purchased over the last 10 years. When my Terk started dying (admittedly I dropped it a few times), I kept searching for an antenna. I've purchased other Mohu antenna's but this one has a very long cord which gives me more options to place it. I definitely get more channels with his Leaf Fify Amplified HDTV antenna. Will purchase another one of this version to replace my other Mohu (w/o amplify).

I've tried several indoor antennae both with and without the boosters and after playing with the Mohu leaf found I got more channels without the booster. Channels are clear and I am finally happy.

When we picked up the antenna we expected to get the basic stations and maybe a couple of extras. We never expected get so many. Also nice that the antenna works inside. Fits nicely behind the tv.

I was only getting 7 channels no matter where I put it. I could see Sutro tower I didn't understand. Someone suggested I connect it without the amplifier. Whoa! 59 channels I'm hooked! I love love love this thing. I don't think I will ever miss cable.

Not a real criticism of the product but the best I could get was 4 channels. Most likely the issue is that. I don't have directional 'line of sight' to the transmitting towers and my apartment is actually just below street level. Also no access to tie into an antenna with a higher perspective. The fact that I got ANY channels at all I think is amazing. Make sure you have directional perspective on the transmission towers and the farthest reach available. Did not work for me, does not mean it will not work for you. Now I just have to figure out how to return it.

This amplifier is easy to install. I hung it on an exterior wall and it worked OK but it would probably work better if hung closer to a window. Also, there is a building next door that's close, so that may have an effect too.

I only use the tv that is hooked up to this antenna only periodically, so I can't speak for it's continuous use - say for a primary tv. I use it in a 2nd floor window facing southeast with no close outside structures. When I have used this TV some channels are better than cable as far as clarity, some okay, a few go in and out. I have not tried to watch it during bad weather. My only suggestion would be to have an assortment of the sticky velcro tapes for hanging. The two small dots are not enough for prolonged use in the window. I have it secured on the back of the top section holder of my blinds (it is metal) and keeps falling down (un-sticking). If the velcro tape were longer, it might stay up better. Did not want to stick to the window due to it being more subjected to the heat and cold - which would likely make it fall down more.

This item no thicker than a credit card works pretty good. Depending on your area, I was able to get 6 out of the 10 or so channels available. Fits great in a window easily sets up in less than 5 minutes.
