Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the extensive gameplay and abundant content as major strengths of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Many praise the game's large roster of monsters and the portability of the Switch version, while some mention a challenging difficulty and less streamlined controls compared to more recent entries in the series. The game's classic Monster Hunter formula and variety of weapons are also frequently cited as positive aspects.

I bought this game because I love Monster Hunter world so much, and I wanted a monster hunter game that I could take on the go with me. This game mostly fills that need for me. It is missing many of the quality of life improvements that world provides, but I would argue that this provides more challenge and variance between enemies. The hardest part of this game was learning how it works in comparison to world. Do yourself a favor and play through the learning curve, and you'll be rewarded.

The game plays great on the switch especially for newcomers to the series who want to see what Monster Hunter has to offer. It has hundreds of hours of content, what more is their to ask. Wish the graphics got an upgrade.

World is a great game, but it is really missing a lot of the things that made MH special, XX( as its called in japan) is probably the best MH game to date IMO but I'm an older gamer that started with MH series with the first one on ps2, many newer gamers will prefer world to the now older MH games, but I would still highly recommend

If you have played Monster Hunter, then you will love it, beginners will too. The game has plenty of monsters from past titles and also has new styles to add variety to combat. Also there's online support and events for special equipment at no extra cost. Overall this is a great game. And has G rank for the hardest monsters.

This game is basically a combination of all of the games before Monster Hunter World. If you were in to any of the older Monster Hunter games this one is a must play. Good to have a version of the game where you can go back and fight all of the classic guys from the past games.

If you're a monster hunter fan and like physical games I would buy this even though the digital is a bit cheaper its good for new comers if they don't like the game they can just let a friend borrow or resell the game. This well get you prepared for Rise.

If your idea of a good game consists of killing big monsters and taking their body parts to make bigger weapons to kill bigger monsters, then this game is for you. As I was purchasing the game, the cashier noted "A must have game for the switch". He was right.

This was my first ever Monster Hunter game and I have been loving it since I bought it! I had been wanting to get into the Monster Hunter franchise for a while and this game was a good start. Along with the plentiful amount of dlc, this game had a good amount of content to have fun with.

Haven’t played the game yet but it was cheap so decided to give it a shot. This is a beefed up version of the 3ds monster hunger. But it plays amazing on the switch.

Been playing Monster Hunter for awhile. Decided to pick this one up for the Switch. This game is as fun as you'd expect from any MH game. A great variety of monsters to fight. Some new one have been added as well as classic fan favorites make a return.

    Monster Hunter Ruined My Life

Generations Ultimate was my first foray into the Monster Hunter series, on recommendation from a friend who played Generations on 3DS. And ever since then this is pretty much the only game I play now! Be it at home or on the go, hunting large beasts is 90% of my Switch usage nowadays. I kind of enjoy the grind and learning about all the weapons and hunting styles available to players, and the variety of monsters to hunt? Even more so! The fact that it's portable makes the experience even better in the event I meet someone who also plays this game on Switch. I can hunt even if I'm in the john. Monster Hunter World might be the better game overall with its QoL updates and visual beauty, but don't count this one out if you don't own a powerful PC, X1 or PS4; while it's essentially an "HD" update of a 3DS game, it still has its niche in the franchise. At least to me anyway.

This game is more like a celebration of their formula for the last decade or so. Honestly, this game celebrates that style, and has way too much to do. So much so, I haven't even made it to the endgame despite putting more hours into this than Monster Hunter World!

The game is a little hard to get into if you are new to the franchise. There is so much content that you can play for a year and not get through it all. The sense of progression is organic and not based in stats. You get better mechanically as you progress.

For fans of the series this game is pretty much a throwback to all the previous ones and as a result it has arguably the largest roster of monsters out of any game in the series, the amount of content you get here is insane with the inclusion of G rank.

I've been playing Monster Hunter for several years now. I loved generations on the 3DS and I love World on the console. This game brings everything in the middle from graphics to game play. It is DIFFERENT from World, but is familiar to previous games.

Really glad the switch released this for us to enjoy, If you're considering buying this and it being your first Monster hunter game I think you'll hit a bit of a learning curve, but once you start learning how to actually play you wont be able to stop.
