What can one say about this film, it is so weird and off the cuff crazy it might be the most difficult review I have ever had to do. Monty Python, a British troupe of Comedians from the 60's into the 70's employed British humor so dry it brought a tear to my eye with this being some of the funniest off the wall Brit wit you will ever see as Python takes you on a Quest for the Holy Grail! This films greatness is only magnified by the superb acting and comical timing of Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, John Cleese & Michael Palin. This team went on to create one of the most epic Britcom shows (Monty Python's Flying Circus) ever produced by the BBC. In this film you will witness classic scene's based loosely (and i do mean that) on the life & times of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. If you are a fan of British humor & have never witnessed the spectacle of " Monty Pythons Holy Grail" then you owe it to yourself to buy this Blu-ray and dive into its lunacy with no reservations, you will become a knight that says " Ni ! " or you can boil my bottom! Video - Looks superb, never better! Colors burst, clarity is startlingly accurate. Blacks are rich & deep without the use of filtering or enhancements this is a pure film, clean without meddling you will really treasure this copy of this film classic! What really stood out in my mind were the reflections and colors of the metals from King Arthur's crown to the Black Knights dark Armour just looked fantastic. Oh & the shrubberies looked very shrubbery! Audio - DTS-HD MA 5.1 lossless soundtrack extracts as much dynamic frequencies it possibly could but don't expect it to sound like today's standard HD this is a mono extract so don't expect miracles but it does sound better than I have ever sampled it. What does stand out was the bass tonal qualities from the boot stomping dance in the halls of Camelot to the thundering's of God above you will notice much more bass response this time around. SUPPLEMENTS - Scintillating Audio Commentary — Directors Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam host a terrific commentary for anyone interested in the film's production. My favorite anecdote is probably about how they accidentally dyed the living killer bunny permanently red. Even More Revealing Audio Commentary — John Cleese, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin are on this one. It's fascinating to hear Cleese talk about the co-directors' differing styles of direction. Apparently, Gilliam was more focused on the technical aspect rather than the comedy. Quest of the Holy Grail Locations (SD, 47 mins) — Terry Jones and Michael Palin buy a copy of their own script to tour around Scotland "England 932 AD". Lego Knights: (SD, 2 mins) — The Knights of the Round Table sequence, recreated in LEGO form. Sweet. Special Japanese Version (SD, 9 mins) — Two scenes dubbed into Japanese, which re-translated English Subtitles. How To Use Your Coconuts (An Educational Film) (SD, 3 mins) — A silly instructional piece about how to get the most horse out of your coconuts. BBC Film Night on Location (SD, 17 mins) — A 1974 episode where the BBC chronicles intercuts interviews with on set footage. Three Songs to Sing-Along (SD, 5 mins) — Now you'll know all the words to Knights of the Round Table, Sir Robin, and the Monks' Chant. If you're a fan of any of the Monty Python movies, this is considered by many to be one of their best movies. The blu-ray version offers a nice upgrade over any previous DVD owners and the special features included are well worth the price of the purchase. If you haven't seen this yet, pick it up. A true timeless classic that keeps getting better with each rewatch!

If you are a fan of Monty Python; you owe it to yourself to own this movie. I remember being introduced to this film by my Dad when I was 12. The humor has stuck with me to this day. And it has stuck with a lot of people. I remember when I saw jokes from this film watered down for a kid's dvd. And they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

This will always be funny to me after all the times I have watched it. We already had the anniversary edition with the catapult and farm animals purchased previously at Best Buy. Only opened once so this 1 we can take places. I love Monty Python's sense of humor, laugh out loud funny no matter how many times viewed.

By far my favorite of all the python movies. the scene with the knight in black and the scene with the rabbit are the most hysterically funny parts of the movie. if you don't catch this movie your missing out on some good chuckles.

Monty Python & The Holy Grail is a classic comedy that will appeal to viewers of all ages . The absurd situations the characters find themselves in will leave u laughing ! The scenes with the killer rabbit & the Black Knight are legendary !!!! A must see comedy !

The picture and sound on the blue is good. Since its not remastered it's DVD quality. I didn't watch the extra commentary yet. The movie still holds up today with the comedy and laughs from my youth when I first saw this hilarious film.

Probably the best this low budget movie is going to look and sound. If you are into comedy and this is not on your shelf you don't really have a comedy collection. It's completely worth the ten bucks you'll spend on it. That ending though...

If you are looking for a classic slap-stick humor movie, you can count on at anytime to cheer you up as well as give you a list of 1 liners to quote anywhere you go! this is the movie. "You've got 2 coconuts and you're banging them together!"

I absolutely loved this movie as a kid, watched my copy of it uncountable times. When I saw this for only $7.99 I had to grab a copy. My only critique is that the narrator does not sound the same as earlier versions of the movie. Not sure if it's just me being older and not remembering correctly but I'm pretty sure they redid the voice-over. Besides that, amazing movie, so glad they finally put this on blu ray.

I saw this at Best Buy when looking for a White Elephant gift. So many of us have seen this movie in the past, and now it can very inexpensively be purchased for your own collection, or as a gift for someone else! My only issue is that a digital download isn't included. The person who got the disc doesn't have a way to play physical media.

Monty Python's most celebrated film, although personally, I'll take "Life of Brian" over this one. But this is one funny film too and a must for any Monty Python fan, or fan of comedy.

It's only a scratch! Nee! Killer Rabbits... need I say more. It is THE HOLY GRAIL and it was on sale for a great price. If you do not have this in your library, you should add it right away.

This movie was without a doubt entertaining, great story, great dialog, and the level of humor is pure perfect! Highly recommend this must see classic to everyone!!!

This movie has so many clever jokes that you'll proba my notice a new one with each viewing. There is a reason why this movie is even more popular today than ever.

Might buy those 40th anniversary edition of this film is excellent it’s hard to believe it’s actually been 40 years since this came out but with Asia came out better

This is a pretty funny movie. I don't think it's as funny as some make it out to be, but it's certainly worth watching and has some absolutely hilarious scenes.

Watching the original HG on a 4k was painful. This remastered version fixes that problem. I'm so-so on some of the extra scenes but happy to see it in 4k now.

C'mon... do we have to review this one anymore? It's amazing and awesome and you should be watching it right now. Then, watch it again. And again. And yes, again.

A classic movie in its 40th anniversary edition! Quality has been upscaled but is not grainy. Some bonus features make it even more exciting to watch!
