Kids got into Monty Python and think the movies are hilarious.

Excellent disc with great extras. Don't miss out on this one!

If you are a Monty Python fan this movie is a must have.

There are certain films that I will gleefully purchase every version of. I picked this up even after picking up the version of this release with the catapult? Why? Because I dearly love this silly film and didn't want to open the catapult version until I knew my kids wouldn't lose the flying farm animals. I really enjoy revisiting this movie every 5 years that I new version is released and the extras are always worth it. Loved flying circus on PBS and once I discovered this movie, it opened up a entire new level of appreciation for Monty Python. You either get it or you don't, but if you do, chances are you already own this or a previous release of this film. And, if you are like me, you're always willing to pick a new release of anything Monty Python regardless of how many other versions you own. No Python fan will be dissapointed with this release.

This classic Monty Python romp is non-stop cerebral slapstick. The Pythons take aim at the classic King Arthur Mythos in a timeless parody. They take on politics, medieval "science", religion and culture. The Knights who are supposed to represent chastity, honor, bravery and Justice attempt to enact the will of God and find the holy grail. They face ferocious beasts, magic and vicious French taunters letting nothing (not even their own incompetence) get in their way. Vignettes on each of the Knights is told once they separate and go on individual quests, only to fail and meet together again for one final attempt at the Grail... Enjoy British humor at its best with this film the must be watched more than once to get the nuances of the performances and jokes.. Silliness at its best!

Not the best HD transfer, but not the worst. Has a healthy selection of special features, with the commentaries being the best.

Monty Python In Search of the Holy Grail is one of my all time favorites and I've owned VHS and DVD versions for years. This blu-ray version is a nice upgrade. The color and sound is definitely improved but it is the exceptional detail that makes this worth owning. You can see every kink and ripple in the metal armor costumes. There are a few extended scenes that aren't really needed but provide some additional chuckles. I have not viewed all of the special features but in one I did Terry Jones explained that the reason there are so few out takes and deleted scenes is they needed almost all of the film they shot just to complete the movie. At $9.99 this was a real value. If you are Holy grail fan this is the version for you.

Monty Python were uniquely hilarious. Their sketch comedy was often mind-bending and completely wacky, yet accessible enough where all generations could find it funny. It wasn't long before they branched out into movies. Monty Python and the Holy Grail was their second movie, but their first with a single plot. This is a spoof of the Arthurian legend and is silly and totally hysterical. If you like your comedy on the surreal side, this is for you. If you're a fan of more simple, less cerebral stuff, you might have trouble with this one. But, give it a try - you might be pleasantly surprised. This is one funny movie!

This was not as funny as I remember as a teenager. I am not sure if I will watch this again.

Most people reading this are likely familiar with the very nearly entirely British comedy troupe, and this film has always been their crown-jewel. This is basically an HD Transfer of the film, with all of the same bonus features of the Two-Disc DVD set (and they remain in SD). If you were looking for a more special edition, maybe celebrating the around-about 40yrs. of Python; you may want to hold off. But if you're trying to replace your DVD collection, If you want to see this glorious film in beautiful Blu-Ray (look at all of that film grain!), or if you've no idea what this whole Monty Python thing is all about—it's a great buy.

very old movie and still good to watch , Britt comedy and a good classic to have.

If your sense of humor is dry and you like a bit of nonsense, you will love every minute of 'Holy Grail'. King Aurthur sets out on a quest from God to search for the coveted Holy Grail. Along the way he meets up with the bravest... and not so bravest knights to never set foot at the round table. He will match wits with the French, consult peasants on seats of power, find witches, wizards, and one terrible bunny with a mean streak a mile wide. Don't believe me? Just look! I told you! Don't take my word for it, give 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' a try or they'll give you a flesh wound.

I bougt the movie because I have never seen it. I watched it and it is entertaining.

What can be bad about classic Monty Python humor? Laugh and then laugh some more.

Funny & irreverent comedy. Quotable lines and characters you'll remember.

A visual/audio refurbishment of the original, which I saw the first day it played, locally. The humor still is excellent and the everything that SPAMALOT parodies is here in dazzling detail. The extras are really terrific, too, with two complete audio commentaries and a flock of more exotic shorts. I had the original Criterion laser disc, and the earlier dvd release. This one tops them alll, and at a great price.

This movie is still a classic. It has stood the test of time.

This has the same set of features as the special edition DVD with the addition of the documentary round table discussion. If you're a fan, or if you don't have this film in your collection yet, this is the version for you. The picture is transferred to HD nicely, the sound is excellent. I recommend using the 5.1 mix for one of the best audio gags in any film. The Lego Knights of the round table, and the documentary on using your coconuts are my 2 favorite extras. There's plenty more for any Monty Fan.

Found this for my daughter in the bargain bin. Great price
