My 3 year grandson loves this toy. It’s lost both hand and one Leg and he take the toy everywhere. I promised him a new one. He named the toy a skeleton.

This toy gives you the true treasure hunter experience packed into a small bundle. You get a map, coin to decode your possible treasure, and a mound of sand to dig out your treasure and treasure hunter. This toy is absolutely great and I would highly recommend this to kids and big kids (adults) alike! The only negative reviews on here, as of when I wrote this, were complaining about minor issues. First, obviously there is going to be a mess. It is a mound of sand you are literally digging through. I would recommend doing it outside if you don’t want to have to clean up the mess. As for the figurines, they are small plastic/rubber figurines that are meant to be collected. They come unassembled, so you must dig out each piece individually and assemble it yourself. If you glue the pieces together, they would be sturdy enough for a young child to play with, but this is not their original intention. The package says ages 5+. The first time I saw someone do one of these, they believed that a piece was missing but after further digging through the sand we were able to find it. I had a similar experience the first time I did one too. The sand is fairly hard to dig through, hence why they recommend running it under water first. I’m giving this toy 4 put of 5 stars because it does an excellent job packing the treasure hunting experience into a small package. However, decoding the map will always show that you “could” get a gold piece when the chances are actually much lower than initially thought. And, the sand can be fairly hard to dig through for a kid if not run under water first.

Easy to use and super fun for kids. A little messy!

I was skeptical about buying this at first I have a one-year-old and a three-year-old also a 10-year-old but he wasn’t really interested in it my one-year-old and three-year-old loved it we dug it out together it does make a little bit of a mess if you’re not careful but all in all it was really really fun

My boys love this toy. They like to dig and find out what is in there. Only thing is, it will cause big mess. So don’t forget to use newspaper or big tray when use it.

My son loves these! He loves to dig the figure out and the fun part is wondering which one you got. Also takes some time so it keeps him busy for a while.

Bought on a whim because my done said he wanted it. Fun item to play with him. 3 year old loved it. Little messy.

This item isn’t horrible but the toy inside does not fully assemble without falling apart. The concept to dig for treasure is great just not as simple as stated on instructions. We let the rock material sit in the water for the recommended amount of time and still had a hard time getting to treasure. My four year old we bought for had a really hard time. It is very messy so maybe try and sit in water longer but overall the idea is great!!

My boy loved this and had a lot of fun. I recommend safety glasses because he did get it in his eyes and do it outside, very messy and gets everywhere

Our son loved this toy! It made him feel like a real archeologist...He loved the digging and finding the treasure was so cool!!

My kids had fun with this. I even had to go more more. However they are messy.

Kids! Am I right? My nephew opened this thing up at Christmas time and was really into it. He had fun doing the buried treasure thing and I guess this is kind of like a boys version of LOL dolls. Or a girls. Whoever. Short lived fun but I don't think it will be a long lasting tradition. It's probably in the trash or at the bottom of a pile by now, but eh. What-ev. It was fun.

Digging into this is fun for my little kid, doesn’t make a mess at all. Comes with different surprises.

My 8 year old is obsessed with these. At regular price they’re a little steep for me, considering how quickly he manages to get to the treasure pieces. But he loves collecting the figures, and always hopes for a rare piece. As long as the price is right, I’ll continue to buy.

It's nice when a manufacturer tries to find creative ways to make toy. This on fits the bill nicely! First it kept my son busy since you gotta dig for all the parts (albeit it was little messy...make sure they do it outside). The toy, itself, looked kinda cool, IMHO so that was nice. I've seen toys that look like crap once you finally get it so kudos. Overall, a fun toy.

My grandson loves these--any of the sizes. There is a little bit of digging involved which can easily be contained on a cookie sheet. There are small toys (which easily get lost) but provides many hours of fun and colecting.
