Lots of action n special effects! Great origins movie

Not what I expected, but a really solid movie nonetheless. Mortal Kombat 2021 was clearly made with a lot of reverence and respect for the source material. The lore isn't 100% accurate to the games, and they do play fast and loose with a couple of the characters, but given that this is film and certain things need to be condensed for time, I understand why the changes were made. I went into this expecting the actual Mortal Kombat tournament. I didn't get that. What I did get was a movie that felt like it could act as a prequel to the original game, showing us the Scorpion/Sub-Zero rivalry rather than just telling us about it, and explaining how the fighters for the tournament are chosen and how they were able to develop special abilities. The fight scenes are strong, the movie looks incredible, it sounds great, and the cast are nearly perfect. I've been playing these games since the original was in the arcades, and this is how I always imagined the like of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Jax, Sonya, and Kano to look and sound. I'm not a big fan of Cole Young - the new character introduced solely for this movie - but I get why he's in the movie. Exposition is necessary, and at least the writers found a half-decent way to get exposition across for casual fans without sounding like a total information dump. And then there are the fatalities. This movie is rated R and it earns every bit of it. I won't spoil them, but if your dream was to see gory fatalities acted out on-screen, you're going to get what you wanted. There's no shortage of blood, guts, and brain matter.

The movie sound and action sequence was on point. Awesome picture!!

Just as good as the first. Action packed. Highly recommend watching it.

I have been a fan of Mortal Kombat since it first came out on video games. I also watched the previous movies and nothing compares to this one. The story and the action scenes was above and beyond then what I expected. This movie is definitely a collector's item. I can't wait to see how they are going to top this one!

Good movie, but I felt that it could have been a little better if they had Scorpion in it more. There were alot of good fight scenes, but the one towards the end was a little irritating. I feel that it should have been fought between the two fighters, instead of one getting an assist. ------ (!! SPOILERS, beyond this point !!) ------ I felt they made Sub-Zero a little too OP. The least they could have done was make Scorpion as OP as him. And what happened to Scorpion's teleport punch towards, and teleport punch off screen?? I mean, he is a Spectre, so he can't really die. I feel like he should have had some extra skill or power because of being a Spectre. At least some skill that would put him on equal terms with Sub-Zero. That power should have been the teleport punch. Disappear and pop up behind him with a punch that can't be predicted, which could counter Sub-Zero's OP skills. ...But that's just my thoughts.

I enjoyed this movie, but to be honest with you, I expected too much lol

The graphics are awesome. The story line changed from the original movies but otherwise pretty cool. The fight scenes are top notch escepially between Sub-zero and Scorpion. Had to get used to the Cole character and Kano faking like he's a good guy. All in all not bad. Waiting on the next installment with Johnny Cage.

It's a good movie and looks good. Special effects are well done. Without spoiling anything the main character is meh and wasn't from any of the MK games but if you can get this for $10 or less like I did I don't think you'll be disappointed.
