    Great watch with noticable improvements

I owned the 1st version of this watch and liked it. This version is a definite improvement. It looks nicer, with the band blending into the new lugs to hide some of its thickness. It also has a quick release mechanism to swap out watch bands. Unfortunately, as of this review, replacement bands are not available from Motorola yet. Also, it's noticeably snappier than the previous version. It runs Android Wear, which is primarily good for displaying your notifications so you don't have to always pull out your phone for every little thing. It allows you to respond to things like text messages, but only with voice dictation (no keyboard) so it might not be great for use in public, but can be helpful when your hands are tied and need to respond quickly. Google voice dictation is also very good and can be used for other helpful things like opening apps on your phone or simple Google Now searches. It has support for some apps like calendar, alarms, fitness tracking, flashlight, stopwatch, weather, calculator, Google apps (Hangouts, Maps, Keep, Fit, Music, Translate, etc), golf GPS apps like GolfShot, and more. It still has the "flat tire" or black space at the bottom of the watch, which bothered a lot of people. It never mattered to me as I use dark watch faces, which hides it. The battery easily lasts me over a day in normal use (checking notifications, sending an occasional text reply, checking the time, etc). I charge my watch every night, so it's more than enough for me. Te main thing is that I don't worry about needing to keep the charger with me during the day. This also allows me to keep the watch face on all the time, so it's easy to glance at for the time instead of raising my wrist to turn on the display. Keep in mind this 46mm version has a slightly larger battery. Pros: - Nicer design over 1st gen (lugs help hide thickness) - Solid battery life for a smartwatch - Quick swap watch bands - Improved performance over 1st gen - Customizable via Moto Maker Cons: - Still a bit tough to see in direct sunlight - "flat tire" still there (not a big deal to me)

This is absolutely a quality product. I love being able to change the faces. Getting email, text is nice. Wish it had a speaker, I read that Gen 3 will have. I really like the watch.

out off all the smartwatches that i looked at and tried on thats compatible with just android phones.the moto 360 2 gen 46mm was the one that i picked up at best buy.the battery is great in it i get about 3 days if i don't have the always on display on and just tap the screen to see what time it is.i just use it as a watch and for notifications.the screen is bright outdoors.the black stainless steel band is ok sometimes its a little snug on my wrist i wear it everyday but i don't wear it while I'm working. the band is very easy to change out.when i run or go for a long walk. i change the bands to a silicone watch band.the silicone band feels much better while I'm running or walking.the stainless steal band sticks to me while I'm running or walking.the touch screen responds pretty good to the touch.

This is a gorgeous watch with functionality. I use it in a professional setting and I have received many compliments on it. In fact, someone purchased one after seeing me with this watch on my wrist. Really enjoy the stand alone functions so I don't need my watch connected to it all the time. I learned that the watch drains the battery on my phone but I recently changed the battery setting in my phone to optomized in Android 6.0 so that is no longer an issue. Battery on the watch is great, no complaints.

As states, hardware sweet. It has the features I was looking for. The bad....my leather band began to peel up on the edges after -3 months of use. Submitted my concern to Moto and was told to contact repair.somethin. Dude! It's a leather band...repair? Re-place thats the answer....and so I did, had a black leather one. Now, watch looks hot! Customer service boost your comm skills and throw away the CSR scripts.

I have not worn a time piece in over 20 years. I've been looking at nice watches but decided on getting a smart watch instead to keep me interested. I was going to pick up a Samsung Gear s2, but after talking to a Best Buy associate, he leaned me toward the Moto 360. He didn't down either product, but just hearing his advice and based on customer reviews, I decided on the Moto 360 2nd Gen. Only after not even 24 hours of ownership, I have 1 paired with my Galaxy Note 5. 2. Added over 50 watch faces (I can choose from any). 3. Checked heart rate and steps walked. 4. controlled Spotify from my watch. 5. Customized watch faces with my own pictures. 6. Received e-mail, facebook, text and phone call notifications, 7. Got turn by turn GPS directions 8. charged it wirelessly on the provided charger and also on my Samsung fast charge Qi wireless phone charger! 9. Spoke to google with my voice to search internet. 10. Turned my LIFX lights on and off with my watch! 11. Found my phone after I laid it down and forgot where it was with my watch. I'm still figuring out things I can do with this watch. The watch faces alone and being able to choose from so many different styles is worth the price alone. You can't pick up a decent wrist watch in a jewelry store for the price of this magnificent very powerful little computer that wraps around your wrist. The bands are so easy to replace and that will even allow one to further customize the look of this already gorgeous and bold piece. So awesome!

I've had my eye on this device ever since it came out. Finally pulled the trigger and bought it. It Feels very sturdy and strong with some weight that says its not cheap. I always get compliments about it. The watch is VERY easy to use and pair with your phone (In my case a note 5) I had no issues with anything the watches OS (Operating System) is fast and smooth. no lag no stutters its simple and honestly kinda fun replying to messages and calls through this watch. As well as being able to change the watch face and color of the watch face to match what feeling like in the moment. I got my watch re-sized as it was a link to loose for me and it felt even better. This watch does NOT have a Mic for anyone wanting to use it as a speaker phone... But you can answer calls from it and if you have a Bluetooth headset the call will come out of the headset or through the phone if you don't have a headset. I've washed my hands with the watch on and it was fine it got a little wet but I DO NOT recommend doing so even though it is fine if it gets wet Only by Fresh water. The band is Easily changeable and can be re-sized by a watch smith or the owner. Front glass is Gorilla Glass 3 I'm not sure about the back. Also this watch can connect to Wifi so you can leave your phone in the room and still get your notifications on the watch anywhere else in the house. Battery life on my 46mm model is 2 days I turned off the Always on display as the display turns on when i flick my wrist to check the time. Aside from being a great Smart Watch. Its also an Amazing Watch. If your not interested in all the smart features you can turn off the notifications or not connect it to your phone and just wear it like a normal watch. You will still be able to change the watch face to your liking.

    Neat toy, not necessary

I decided to go ahead and try out a couple smart watches being full aware they're very much in their infancy. With that in mind, this watch has a very good look to it, has the a fairly large watch face, solid build. I'm not a fan of the pixel density or what's known as the 'flat tire' (a small portion of the bottom of the face simply remains black) Why Motorola did this, I couldn't tell you, but you do start to ignore it with time. The watch is very responsive, no noticeable lag, and the screen is able to produce a smooth analog watch reproduction. As for the tech bit, the ability to check who's calling, texting, or whatever notifications is actually much more handy that I imagined. Having to reach into your pocket to check these things is almost painful after wearing the watch for a week. The heart rate, step tracker, etc are fairly basic but usable using Motorola's 'Moto Body' but is nothing special. The watch utilizes Android Wear as its OS, so you get the whole Google ecosystem and voice recognition so its fairly well supported app wise. As for the voice recognition, I tried it for a while, but its a lost cause. Its responsiveness to commands and the ability to transcribe text is nowhere reliable enough to trust for communication. Also, you look like an idiot saying 'Ok Google' 30x to your watch before it decides to listen. Do not buy it for that. So basically, its a fun toy that will make your life somewhat easier, but far from anything life changing or necessary. I also have a Samsung Gear S2 Classic, and as for a direct comparison, this watch is the better looking fashion wise w/ the steel band and larger face, but the Gear S2 is the much better athletic/casual watch. Much lighter weight, the screen quality is so much better, but also much smaller. Buy this watch to wear out socially, buy the S2 for the health tracking and better utility.

This is my first experience with advanced wearable technology. I previously had a Fitbit Flex, and while it's great at tracking my steps, and sleep patterns it's very basic, that's why I wanted to get a Smart Watch. I had done about 4 months of research on this subject and narrowed it down to the Moto 360 (2nd Gen) and the LG Watch Urbane. The deciding factor that got me to choose the Moto 360 over the LG Urbane is the bezel. The Moto 360 looks cleaner and with the black finish I can hardly tell that the "flat tire" is there. The LG Urbane just looked way to bulky even thought it felt really good on my wrist that I could tell with the demo at my local best buy store (Store 529). The only thing that I wish the Moto 360 had that the LG Urbane has is the OLED display, as the Moto 360 has an IPS display, this might hamper seeing the watch in high light situation. These watches are very close to each other spec wise. It's more about esthetics really. I have a Nexus 6 and I am currently running the first build of Android N so my experience setting the watch up with my phone might be a bit skewed because of it. Setup took a bit longer than I would have liked, and I had to restore the watch to factory to finally get it to be seen in the Android wear app. So far it's been amazing I am on day 1 but so far getting text message notifications and Facebook notifications is great and with the default Moto watch face I can track my footsteps without having to open my Fitbit app. the weight is perfect for me and doesn't feel to bulky, I purchased the Black with the black stainless steel to hide the "flat tire" and I'm not a fan of leather bands that can break easier. Included in the box is link extender I have not used that as on my non-dominate wrist (my left) the watch fits perfectly, but on my dominate wrist it feel way tight, not sure what might be causing this but it's not that big of an issue. So far with my Motorola Nexus 6 it's syncing up perfectly and working as it's supposed to. My texting app (Textra) is fully functional with Android wear so I have no issue not using hangouts on my phone. I will update this review once I've had a chance to look at battery life and other advanced features I haven't used yet. So far on day 1 it's running the way I was hoping it would and this is coming from someone who hates to wear watches or jewelry of any kind.

I've enjoyed this Moto 360 2nd Generation watch. Because I carry my phone in my pocket I was missing a lot of calls and messages, after doing the updates I haven't missed any. The watch vibrates pretty well and will get your attention. At first I wasn't receiving all the updates but after updating the watch to the latest update I haven't missed any. It a tad bit heavy but that's expected with this size face. The band was too small for my wrist but it does comes with extra links and after watching a few youtube videos figured out how to add them myself. The watch looks great and I usually get a few questions about it from others, great luck with it so far. I charge it every night and it lasts all day long.

I buy a lot of stuff. I don't think my anticipation could have been any higher for this watch ..2nd Gen Moto 360. I did my comparisons and this unit had the bigger battery so easily covers convenient charge to charge times. It is plain and unassuming to the point that people are asking me "what kind of watch is that.". I like that I can have a dress watch by night if I'm going somewhere. Or a "chunky man watch" during working hours. It fits who I am. A techno freak....but now with style. P.S. A word to the wise; as per the instructions if you need the extra wrist band links, as I did, don't attempt this yourself. It'll end in tears. Just go to you friendly neighborhood jewelry store. You be glad you did and have a scratch free properly adjusted watch.

First off this watch looks amazing, not at all like a 'smart' watch. I get compliments on it everyday. It works like a charm with my Note Edge. I love the GPS feature, I just tell my watch I need directions someplace and it opens a navigation screen right on the watch face. The watch even buzzes when its time for me to make a turn. Reading full texts and full emails on the screen is nice as well. I hardly ever have to take my phone out of my pocket now. The battery life is incredible as well.

This is my first piece of wearable technology other then my Fitbit (which I love and having a hard time giving to my wife), and I have to say it's been an amazing addition to my IT life. I'm not a watch person what so ever, with my cell phone and computers I have no reason to wear a watch just for time keeping. I will say that however I love getting the chance to change my watch faces and colors on a whim, something you can't do with watches similarly priced and even more expensive. The ability to get text message, facebook, and e-mail notifications on my wrist has made a huge difference in meetings and when I'm at home and don't want to keep grabbing my phone (Nexus 6 running Android Developer Preview 2) which does run down the battery life. As stated earlier I am running a Developer Preview of Android N and I have not seen any read performance degridations with the watch, although DP2 has an issue with Bluetooth which is a known bug and there are sometimes issues with it dropping Bluetooth connections. I can't wait to see what is in store for the 3rd Gen Moto 360 watch and seeing where smart watches go in the next 5 years.

I knew what I was getting no surprises here. I'd be a little worried if I had a bigger wrist. I'm not a small guy, but no one would say I have a big wrist and I had to add 2 of the 3 extra links to the metal band. Doesn't effect me or my review but its something to be noted. As for the watch its Android wear, enough said. 40% battery power after 14 hours of use with screen always on, about 60% or so with setting turned off. Black watch with black face the flat tire isn't even worth mentioning but would not buy the silver version or rose gold.

The moto360 gen 2 has been an amazing purchase. I don't have any issues with battery life or performance, and the looks are always turning heads. I thought the low pixel density would be noticeable and annoying but I have never had any problems with it. With ambient mode off I end the day with more than 80% with constant notifications causing it to buzz and light up which is amazing.

This second-gen Moto is attractive, has almost all the functions you might want (although limited capability in many), and is very attractive on your wrist, as well. Add-ons such as extra faces are an easy download, and inexpensive. Battery life is very impressive, and use of a charging-cradle rather than a cable is excellent. This gen has too-frequent problems with some functions, however; problems based on connectivity and interfacing with the Android phone and with the outside world via wifi. Everything should work instantly and as smooth as silk - and probably will with the 3d gen - so buy now or wait, your choice.
