    Flagship Killer?

I'm a tough grader. If price was not a factor, I would give the 3rd generation Motorola G a 4 out of 5, which is still a great rating. But it's hard to ignore the fact that this phone is not only very good, it's also starts at just $179! The only cons so far are the camera, which is fine, and the 720p display, which is fine as well. But the lean Android experience and elegant execution of the very little Motorola-specific software is EXCELLENT!

Only the second smart phone I've used, but I looked at a lot of reviews before settling on this one and more than a month later am very happy with it. The camera is very good, but so far I haven't found a way to control the exposure in regard to choosing a light source like I can on the HTC EVO. Most of the time the auto exposure does well though. Really don't have any complaints about it, we bought 4 for the whole family and the techy kids don't have any complaints either. Sound quality on calls is good and that's important.

I would recommend this because I got this phone for a review who need a phone that will do the basic and a little more. The battery life on this phone last when a few apps are running in the background. Apple cant do that. Please the phone is was resistant which is another plus. I would recommend this phone to anyone giving a phone to a person who always need to give a phone to a person for a temp or a phone for a kid because the price was just right. Now if it came with 3gb Ram the phone would have been perfect.

Needed an unlocked phone to take to UK for vacation. This fit the bill and was not too expensive with gift cards that I had.

The Moto G 3rd gen has great specs that you wouldn't expect from a phone that costs less than $200. The phone will get you through any task, but obviously not as efficiently as a high-end smartphone. Although it isn't the best on the market, the processor handles daily activities very well. The camera takes great pictures with its 13 megapixels. Everything else from the speakers to the UI are very satisfactory.

The Moto G is an excellent low-cost ($179 unlocked) smartphone running the latest version of Android (5.1). Just note that this version will not work with Verizon here in the United States. What makes it excellent? It's the fact that it feels snappy and responsive, has decent battery life, and a better than expected camera. It will very easily meet the needs of most casual smartphone users for a price substantially less than that of some of the flagship phones on the market.

Activated on Consumer Cellular (excellent service). Great phone for the $$. I needed a new phone and couldn't see spending $600+ on one. This one does all I need for less than $250 including the 64GB micro sd card I installed. A phone is a tool not a status symbol.

I bought this phone for my wife to replace my aging Note 3, and it's been a great daily driver for her so far. The "pure" Android experience makes for a very snappy phone, and the battery easily gets her through an entire day (and that's with some pretty heavy use). I highly recommend this phone, and I'm not sure any other phone can beat it at this price range.

This phone is excellent for a basic smartphone. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB memory, which isn't a whole lot, but the phone works well with what it has been given. It has an expandable slot for a microSD card for music, picture, and extra file lovers, but if you are a high app user this phone probably will not have enough room for you. I really wanted to keep this phone, because it is well built, easy to navigate (if you are a previous Android smartphone user), is crisp and clear when on calls, and feels really well in your hand; however, due to the space I, as a heavy app user, had to return the phone grudgingly for one that has more space.

Why buy a contract....when you can get this phone ...unlocked...and it works just as well as any phone on the market. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done for a fraction of the price My 600$ sony xperia z3 phone broke just sitting in my pocket after a year of use... I decided not to wasted money on fragile products. 180$.. Out the door... no questions asked... Hands down best decision I've made in awhile

I reluctantly gave up my Samsung Galaxy 1 after some music software failed. Talked to the in store Geek who sensed my kindergarten mentality. Said I was leaving the country for a year and asked what to buy. I was shocked to see "unlocked" phones for sale and at this price said 'You got me!'. He loaded all my stuff from the other phone, switched SIM cards and away I went to spend the next 2 months trying to figure out how to use it. Still a little awkward in the Android functions, still haven't figured out how to load and use some apps. But it is fun learning! Very glad to have moved on and happy not to have a contract with any phone company so I can switch when I go to Asia. Sorry that BB didn't carry hard shells for it but found one on EBay.

I purchased this phone to replace my Samsung Galaxy Light. This phone has a newer operating system and is much faster than the Galaxy Light. I am using this on T-Mobile and recently purchased and paired a Moto 360 smartwatch with it. No problems at all and very happy with this phone so far.

This is a great phone, would have given it 5 stars but like every phone the battery just doesn't stand up to extended HD game play. However, features are comparable to any upper echelon phone for not a lot of money. If you're looking for a good phone on a budget (who isn't) buy it, you won't be disappointed.

So far she has not complained and for her that is a good review other phones she always had something bad to say ut this one so far nothing. Says battery life is good and she is getting used to how it works. Camera not as good a a $600 phone it replaced but good enough for most pics.
