I bought this phone from the local Best Buy store a week ago today. In my opinion, Motorola had no business releasing a smartphone with such pitiful memory and storage. 1GB RAM is barely adequate, and it may even be enough for a light user, but 8GB of internal storage is laughable. I ran out of storage on the first round of app updates, and keep in mind I wasn't running anything unreasonable (Facebook and Twitter being the only two resource-heavy apps I really use). Since uninstalling those, the storage has not been as much of a problem, but it's 2015 and smartphones should be made capable of handling normal every day applications of the day. I ordered the upgraded model directly from Motorola ($40 more gets double the RAM and double the storage) so I'm sure my opinion of the phone will change once I get it, but I plan to take this one back to the store as soon as the new one comes. On a more positive note, the construction of the device is sturdy, the processor is snappy, the display is solid and without the back light bleed that plagued the 2014 Moto G (though not quite as rich as the 2013 Moto X that it replaced), and the camera seems to take beautiful pictures. I'd easily recommend this phone if the upgraded memory and storage were included on the standard model. There's absolutely no reason they should not be.
