I bought this to use as my backup until my Samsung Galaxy A50 gets a screen repair. Just like every budget phone there are things I like about it and others I do not.
Pros:
- Rear mounted finger print sensor
- 64 GB internal storage + expandable memory
- 4 GB of RAM
- Less bloatware and a heavier reliance on stock Android (Google apps and software)
- Stereo sound
- USB-C fast charging
Cons:
- No accidental touch protection of any kind. It's very easy to accidentally hit things.
- Screen quality, keeping in mind I came from an Amoled display. If you have never had one, you'll never notice it.
- Camera is meh
- No NFC or wireless charging, at least one of those would have been nice. Preferably NFC for contactless payment.
- No Face Unlock
- Inability to removed pre-installed apps like Facebook. I should be able to dictate what social media experiences I have, not Motorola.
- Build material. Do NOT buy this phone without purchasing a case or you'll break it within the week. It's impossible to hold onto, it's very slippery.
- Automatic calling. I'm having a hell of a time getting the automatic answering with a headset working.
Verdict: I'd recommend this phone to your average user or any parent who wants to get there teenager a phone but doesn't want to shell out $300-400 for something like midrange Samsung or iPhone. You shouldn't buy this phone if you are a gamer, heavy user, or photo enthusiast. It's not mean for any of those scenarios.

I chose G Power over G Stylus for 5A/h battery. This phone can get 8-9 hours screen on time with ease.
Camera is fine under normal light condition.
Speakers are good for playing video. You can select sound mode to fit your taste.
Screen is actually good. I don't mind the selfie hole, but this way pushes the clock to right side like Android 8 or older and I prefer this.
This phone works on T-Mobile right away including VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling. It even has B71 LTE.
This phone is highly recommended if you want longer battery
It can take 15 watt charging with no problem.

Moto G Power best bang for the buck at Best Buy

You can't find a better phone for the price. The Moto G Power 64GB phone does everything you need at a great price. Very good camera system, sharp screen, up to date Android software, and a monster battery that lasts for days. I added a $29 128GG MicroSD chip and now have lots of memory for photos and apps. I bought this phone for our entire family as soon as Best Buy came off the list price. I've been buying my family phones from Best Buy for years now. BB always has as good selection of high end--and especially affordable phones with good performance. Check BB first.

I was looking for an alternative phone to replace my S9. This phone is wonderful, I really like the specs and the camera. The battery last a few days on a single charge and the resolution is good. UI design is easy to navigate and does everything I need it for. If your looking for an alternative and not pay flagship prices ?!? The Moto is a good choice! Good phone for the price

This is a great value. I previously had an S8, iPhone SE and then the Moto X4. The Moto X4 beat the other two hands down but I wanted one with a bigger battery. The phone battery can last two or more days depending upon how you use it. Camera takes very good pics as well. Apps open quick and I have not seen any issues with lag. I could really care less about the 64gb storage because of the micro sd card slot. Screen is clear and bright. I'm glad I did not get the Pixel 3A as it was not water proof. Very little bloat ware compared to Samsung. I use Nova for the launcher and have seen no issues. Moto gestures work without issues. I was leery about the screen size but it's really just a tad bigger than the X4. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I went to Best Buy Planning to get a Samsung A20, out of stock. After weighing my options I settled on the Moto G Power, I previously owned very inexpensive LG phones and the A20 would have been a step up. For only a little more the Moto was a HUGE step up. with 64Gb and 4Gb vs 32 and 3 for the A20. After getting used to doing things a little differently I really love my Moto. First It's a beautiful phone with a metal not plastic body, with the almost jewelry like machining of the back case it's almost a shame to put it in a shockproof case. The screen is clear and sharp, the call quality is clear and the speaker sounds great. The battery is the biggest reason to get this phone, I leave the house at 100% after using it all day, then at home using the hotspot through my laptop to watch TV for 5 or 6 hours I wind up at about 40%. Not bad, using it strictly for phone, fb, and text I could probably get 2-3 days out of it. I'm not a big phone user but this battery is a beast. If you're in the market for a good phone in this price range check it out. I'm glad I went with the Moto G power (G8 "Sophia").

Great service and super price! This phone is much better than my prior moto force. The camera is much better and it processes much quicker. I also get 3+ days on a charge. I don't need the fancy phone, just something reliable that has the features I need. This open box phone was in super condition and my salesperson was the best! He was very busy, but took care of me and answered all my questions. Very satisfied customer!

I got this phone for my wife because her Moto G5 plus was starting to give trouble. So far everything is great. The phone is quick, the camera is very good with decent lighting, the sound is excellent with built in stereo speakers and the battery lasts for 2+ days. For $250 this is probably the best value you can find.

For my entire life, I have been a Samsung guy. However, a year ago, my wife got motorola and has loved it. Her battery last nearly two days without charge and the phone runs quite well. The only downfall on her phone is the camera is only alright. When the new Moto G Power came out, I noticed that it had an upgraded camera along with even a longer lasting battery.
Since the current samsungs are running nearly $1,000 and this phone is a 1/4 of that - I figured why not give it a whirl. Since the day I walked out the store with it, I am officially a Motorola customer. These phones are solid, efficient, and the battery is insane. I spend a ton of time on my phone due to work and stream a lot, and even then I can make it through a 24 hour period without charge. If I am not on the phone throughout the day, it can easily last 2 days.
If you want to save a ton of money and get a phone that is quality - give this a try. The camera is still lacking a slight bit but plenty good for a camera phone. Speed wise I have not really noticed any difference between it and my Samsung S8 that is now in the trash. Durability - it holds up great. I have a case on mine and have dropped it far too many times without any issue.
Great phone, it is worth trying out!

I've had this phone a little over a month now. Wanted to wait a bit before I reviewed it. Overall it's a great phone. Good camera, call quality is great, love the dual stereo speakers, good storage and ram for the price. Speed of the phone is good too. Upgraded from a g7 supra from Cricket. Can't go wrong with this phone.

I HAD to upgrade an old Moto Play that I have had for MANY years and after a lot of research I decided on this phone. So far it is a great phone and I have no real complaints. I hate that I can not use my old battery mod with this phone but the battery life on this, so far, is amazing!! If you are looking for a reliable phone at a great price this is it. The phone has a decent camera and other specs that are better than some of the more expensive ones out there. It's paid in full and more than serves its purpose.

Moto G Power, Excellent phone for the $$$

Review by 60 year old American female. I needed a new cell phone that has a few specific features. Long battery life (the battery life is amazing), a current bare bones Android OS, and water resistance. The battery life in the Moto G Power is beyond excellent... it goes and goes for days. It came out of the box undamaged and well packaged with all needed accessories included, except I need to contact best-buy as the charger I received with the phone and use says on my phone that I need to use charger that came with the phone! It has basic Android 10 (with the May update running perfect) and without any extra craps installed besides a few Motorola necessities that make operation simple. Audio (speaker) is lacking a little hard to hear, the camera isn't the best but for a budget phone not bad! I had read a review on HSN about this phone and it said you could only use Gmail, not true I was able to access my email and it's not Gmai! No contract is the best part, (Verizon is a rip--off like most carriers) and the PRICE WAS GREAT!

For the Money, a Very Good Phone

For the price, I can't imagine a better phone. It's not the absolute best at any one thing, but in a world of much more expensive phones, I think it would behoove consumers to check out Motorola's phones. First, the most disappointing part: the home screen/app switching. It's all done using finger swiping, and it's nowhere near intuitive. To get back to the home screen(s), you swipe up. But to get to your apps to then close them out and/or search for apps not on one of the home screens, you swipe up again. I realize this sounds confusing, so it's a good analog for how the process actually works. The goods outweighs the bad/annoying, though. The best part: the battery. So far, I have consistently gotten 3 days of use out of the battery between charges. Because of this, it doesn't charge quickly but it's worth it for how long it lasts. All in all, a very solid phone for an unbeatable price.

What I love about this here device it's not the 4 GB of RAM it's not the FingerPrint Sensor It's not the 6.4 inch screen display It's not the 32 GB storage Plus Expandable Storage It's not the 5.0 Bluetooth It's not the dual speakers or the Headphone Jack. It's the Battery Plus all those other features I listed overall it's a great phone has a 5000 mAh battery None of the flagship phones have this and it makes me think like dang why pay for a 1000$ phone when you can pay 250$ for this phone with a ton of great features. Also Has Android 10 which is a big plus. Do your self a favor and go ahead and purchase this device you won't regret. It's affordable with budget Specs.

I've been using this phone for 5 months now. I upgraded from the G7 power, only because I broke it.
Depending on what you are used to, this will be an amazing phone, or just *meh*. It will handle pretty much everything it's supposed to. The screen looks good, it runs all the apps and games.
I love the Moto features, twist for camera, chop for flashlight. I'll probably stay loyal to motorola for a long time because of those and for the battery life.
Battery is where this phone really outperforms others. While my friends Iphones and galaxys are dying and they have to go stop at a cafe to recharge, I'm still at 60-70% with similar usage. I usually go all day and never go below 50%.
Apps that take lots of battery: zoom, marco polo, netflix and all the video streaming stuff. The only time I've been below 20% was when I used it for zoom meetings all day, or didn't charge for 2 days, or other times when my kids have spent 8 hours watching videos on car trips.
It is sometimes a little laggy, there's a little hesitation sometimes scrolling even on websites, but nothing unbearable. The camera is good, but the focus is not as quick as I'd like sometimes.
But for the price, this thing is amazing, and if you're coming from an older phone, this will be a huge upgrade. Most my friends really can't tell the difference between this and the phone they paid $700 - $1100 for.

First. Battery life is awesome. Day 6 of normal usage and I've only charged it twice. Any new phone will always be an upgrade but I feel like this phone really raised the bar. To pay less than $250 for a quality phone is awesome. Only con is it does not have wireless charging thus 4 stars. Not a problem except that I have to purchase USB C cables for my car charger as everything has been mini USB for the last few years.

Been using this one for almost 8 months now. No real issues. Any bugs can just be fixed with a simple restart. Storage has been enough for me so far, Camera quality is pretty good. But the battery life on this thing is awesome. I constantly have friends saying they're running below 15% battery while I'm running at 40-50% while not having charged it the night before.

I pre-ordered the Moto G Power because it checked all the boxes.
- the price
- battery size
- headphone jack
- screen size
- dual speakers
since it came out in the UK 2 months before the US, there were plenty of reviews on YouTube and the three I watched were very positive.
I've had it for almost 2 months.
This battery is amazing! I can't tell you how long it's been since I've owned a phone that I don't have to charge nightly.
The sound is loud and for me the dual speakers are important because of all the content I listen/watch.
I've praised this phone to all my friends because of the price and quality. You've got a new fan, Motorola. Fine job.
The only bad things I've noticed so far is the Bluetooth connection is not strong at all. I'll have my phone in my pocket and my Bluetooth headphones will cut out sometimes. I thought it was the headphones at first, but it also has been noticeable with other Bluetooth speakers. And no, it's not the case.
The other disappointment is that now I don't get a signal in a couple locations where I've never had a problem before. Thankfully, it's not everywhere, but it just seems odd because my last phone was 4 years old and I never had connectivity issues. I just figured that was something I didn't have to worry about.
In the end, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Whether you're on a budget or not, I recommend this phone.

I love absolutely everything about this phone. I use it primarily for business. I run a store and a non-profit, so my phone gets used pretty heavily. So many great new features so I suggest using the moto app to explore all this phone has to offer because if you don't you will think you've lost the 3-button navigation feature, but you can actually enable or disable the 3-button navigation in the system settings. I upgraded from the moto e cruise and I'm very impressed with the g power ease of use, speed, accuracy, display, battery life (I can go 3-4 days without charging and I can even set when the power save goes into action to optimize usage), the charger (charges very fast), intuition, adaptive sound quality, picture quality (the camera is amazing it catches all the little details the human eye doesn't readily see!). I highly recommend a case and screen protector. The sleek thin design doesn't offer much of a grip on the phone and I dropped my phone 3 times in one hour. Good thing it was on carpet so no damage. Overall great value for all this phone has to offer, I'm glad I caught it while it was on sale for $179.99. Works extremely well with my Cricket network service. Thanks Motorola! I don't think I'll ever go back to Samsung.
