Customers recognize the Moto Insta Share Projector's exceptional picture quality and ease of use, with many praising its surprisingly large projection size for its compact form. However, some users point to limitations in battery life and brightness, along with occasional difficulties in focusing the image. A few also mention the projector's tendency to overheat during extended use and a relatively high price point.

I had to get mine because I was so very impressed with my daughter's. We were all on vacation together and were able to watch a full length movie on the ceiling of our hotel room using our online VUDU account. It will project up to 70" size, and can adjust for sharpness. Only thing is that to do something like that you better be plugged in to an outlet. This would have been better if they had made it so you could possibly add the external battery module to the outside of the projector. However, I honestly can't think how that could be done. Still, it's an amazing accessory and tons of fun.

Says up to a 70 inch screen, but can go much larger. Wish it could run longer on a full charge, but it's great for anything under an hour long.

The room has to be quite dark. The battery on the projector drains fast and you cannot connect external power while using it since the power connector is on the side that connects to the phone. Still works well.

It's a great projector , with 50 lumens it's enough for a movie night over a white wall. For day activities such as a power point presentation at work I recommend something of at least 100 lumens , unless the room is at closed door and dark enough .
It's so convenient for traveling or carrying everyday to take advantage of spare moments to watch a movie in a very large size.

This is a pretty sweet upgrade to your Moto Z phone. It has high enough resolution for backyard movie night or showing photos to your friends, and it doesn't drain your battery in a snap.
My only issue is that it's a little bit dim once you get up towards the upper limit of the suggested 70" range. I guess it's as good as I can expect for something that fits in my pocket, but I sorta wish they'd come out with a second gen version that was brighter (even if it sapped your phone pretty quickly)

I was able to purchase the insta share projector when it was on sale considering it's a little pricey. Although I haven't used it much it's a great idea to be able to attach something to the back of your phone that can project a large image or video on a wall or ceiling that you as well as others can enjoy watching all at the same time! From what I've seen so far the darker the room the better.

I love this projector. I just wished it had a little more battery life and a big brighter. Other than that I am satisfied with it.

Can't complain came as a bundle with the phone. I probably won't use the projector much being I'd have to take the phone out of it's case every time I use it.

If you own the Moto z and are happy with it, this is a no brainer, especially if you get it for free with a promotion. After using it for a little while, I decided that, while very cool, the whole modular thing with the moto z didn't really hit it out of the ball park for me. This is a solid little projector, but for $300 or close to it, you can get a standalone Pico projector with better specs that will be compatible with any phone and won't be stuck the the back of the device you're attempting to project from. Anytime you want to change what you're watching you mess up the focus and angle of the projection. I also didn't like that the only option for audio output while charging is Bluetooth. With all the money I have in sound equipment, I was listening through the dinky phone speakers. Granted This is an issue with the regular moto z not having a headphone jack. I believe the force and play editions have headphone jacks, solving this problem.
I've returned this item as well as the moto z. I'm now on the LG v20 which I like. All this said, I still haven't found a Pico projector that I'm happy with, and this little diddy got me hooked on the idea, so I have to give credit where its due...

I've had this projector on my radar for a while now, but its MSRP was a bit exorbitant for my current financial situation. I had read reviews and watched YouTube videos, and everything seemed to point toward this being a great addition to the Motomod lineup. When it went on sale I didn't hesitate to pick it up...and my biggest compliment I can give is...WOW.
This projector packs a serious punch...as long as I'm in a semi-darkened room I can utilize it quite effectively. The automatic keystone is quick and accurate and the projector runs rather quite. Its small enough to throw in a jacket pocket and light enough to forget about. I do wish that the projector bulb was replacable, but with an indicated 10,000 hour lifespan I doubt I'll ever get around to worrying about it.
All in all, this is one of the coolest mods I've seen for the phone and is a purchase I would certainly make again. If you can find it on sale, its an absolute must-purchase!

At my family's last reunion this was a hit - I was able to share personal pictures and video and there was no grumbling about the pictures being to small on my phone screen. :-)
On a technical level - I haven't tried it in direct sunlight, but it's fine indoors during the day. The speakers integrated into it make it loud enough to hear videos at normal volume.
