Just OK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid full price from Motorola for this phone because I have Verizon unlimited data and didn't want to lose my plan. Touch screen is awful. Have to touch more than once for the key to register. Also phone goes black when I'm waiting for the person on the other end to answer and doesn't always light back up. Then you can't hang up the call. Goes black also when calling about messages. Phone is a year old and battery life is only about 6 hours - and there is no battery access door that I can find. Fits well in my hand and it's personalized with red cover and my name but that wasn't worth the price paid. Too bad because this is Motorola phone number 8 and I will never buy another one. Maybe try a Samsung next time.

Nice features, terrible documentation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the perspective of someone who is certainly not an expert on using smartphones, I'd have to say my primary complaint is that it literally took 6-8 hours to customize this phone due to poor documentation from Motorola and Sprint. One would think that companies as large as Motorola or Sprint could afford to employ instructional designers. The online PDF documentation is often unclear, not nearly inclusive enough, and it was not downloadable to my computer at the time I tried. I had to call Motorola to be able to interpret the information it did contain. I reached a representative in the US who patiently explained how to customize home screen. The second time I called Motorola customer service was concerning how to turn off the notification sounds for every time I received an email during the night, although the sound volume was off and sleep at night was on. I didn't want to have turn my phone off to be able to sleep each night because I like to use the phone's alarm to wake me up. The representative I spoke with said there was no way to turn off notifications. After some time passed, I finally figured out how to do it. There is a third setting location for notifications. I just turned them off completely. So, thanks Motorola for a high tech device that puts the burden on your customers to try to figure the thing out. I was told by the Best Buy rep. who activated my phone that my new plan would not cost anymore than my old plan ( $90 per month with taxes for unlimited calls and data). After being a Sprint customer for 10 years, I don't recall anyone at Best Buy or Sprint informing me that a $36 "activation fee" would be applied to my Sprint account for buying a new phone (same number) and signing a new contract. What a way to reward a repeat customer! When I called Sprint to question the charge, the rep. said she would credit me for the unannounced activation fee, but what I know for sure is that the $66 and $134 for the first two bills is higher than $180 for 2 months that I was paying. If my third bill is less than $90, it may even out. However, I don't think the charge was appropriate in the first place because Sprint didn't activate the phone, Best Buy did. I probably paid too much judging from today's prices. I paid $180 for the phone, case, belt clip, and screen cover.
