Great phone at a great price!...no Turbo Charger

I replaced my Nexus 5 with this phone, and I really like it. It was between this and the Nexus 5x....I just thought this looked like a better phone spec wise. I'm a big fan of the pure Android experience and have primarily used Nexus devices in the past. This is the closest to pure Android you can get without buying a Nexus....and the few additional features (like MotoVoice and MotoActions) add to the phone's usefulness. In fact, I think I will get another one of these when I upgrade in a couple years. The only thing this phone doesn't have is a fingerprint scanner....which I have never used, so I don't miss it. I deducted 1 star however because the refurbished unit did not come with the Turbo Charger, just a standard one....I ended up buying one off of Amazon. **One thing to note is if you want Best Buy reward points for this purchase (or any other), buy it from the Best Buy site not through their Ebay site....they will not give you credit even though it was the same price and for the same company. I found this out the hard way.**

It meets all my needs to replace my old Galaxy S5. The display is not as bright as the S5, however, I am still happy with it. The camera function is less than satisfactory. It doesn't allow selections at lower resolution. The battery performance is adequate for me. However, for heavy-duty user it may need to be charged twice a day. It also takes too long to get full charge.

First this is a very well built phone that feels like a top notch phone. The display is beautiful and crisp with great color accuracy. The phone is fast with almost no lag when using for multiple tasks. A few things to consider: battery isn't the greatest but it will get you through the day. Can be picky with certain quick chargers (and doesn't come with one). Standby time is horrible compared to my note 3 and lumia 640. Overall it is a phone I would recommend and would purchase again.

First let me say I love this phone! It is fantastic. The camera is great. Awesome battery life. The only problem is that it is not 4g capable on the Verizon network. For some this may not be a problem. But I was not happy that I couldn't use my GPS while on the phone. Otherwise it is a great phone. For this reason the phone had to be returned.

Great bang for the buck! I didn't want to spend $400-500 bucks getting a new phone, when I could get the same features with this refurbished Motorola. I am a Samsung lover, but the picture quality of this phone with 21 Megapixels is just amazing! Not many digital cameras even have that. I was able to upgrade it to 6.0 Marshmallow, the processor is really fast and works just great for me. The phone however is a little bigger than what I'm used to, but really worth it!

Bought the phone because of the savings over new. It has performed just like new for a month or so. Switched to Verizion with it and it works fine. I like the install of marshmallow without much bloatware. Well satisfied

This Moto X smartphone is excellent and a great value for money. I bought a refurb unit from Best Buy and it was in mint condition. The screen is hi-res and very bright, the sound from the stereo speakers is excellent, and there is a micro-SD expansion slot. It's mostly stock Android with a few (excellent) Moto customizations. Well worth the purchase price and your consideration.

Phone works great on Repulic Wireless once I put their sim card in. Also bought a 32gd micro sd. Initially formatted the 32 gb as internal which is supposed to extend the internal 16gb of memory using Android 6.0. This made the phone really slow. So i reformatted the sd as external, which makes the phone work as fast as it seems it shoujld. Have most of the apps I think I will ever need on it, and have used about 20% of the SD with mainly music files. If I had to do it again, i would have preferred to get more than the 16gb.

What an amazing phone, especially for the price. The screen is brilliant, and it's really a snappy phone especially after messing with developer options and reducing animation speed from 1.0 to 0.5. It's pretty dang close to Android stock too, with ACTUAL useful stuff from Motorola, not bloat. Moto voice is extremely useful and reads texts back to you while driving, and much more. Phone doesn't really need a case grip wise, the back of the phone has a good grip (I got the standard black one). Plus screen size is 5.7.

It's been a year and the only problem I've had is that from time to time, the screen goes gray and it turns back to normal when I restart the phone.

Researched ad nauseum on YouTube and review sites. Was between the Nexus 6p and the Moto X Pure Edition. Viewed the 2 in my local Best Buy and liked the Moto best. Replacing my dying Nexus 5, I wanted as close to stock Android as possible. The Moto X Pure Edition fit the bill the best. The grip of the silicone back was easier to handle. Missed out on a couple deals and then found the refurb from Best Buy. Has performed great. May get one to replace my daughter's broken budget Android phone!

Functions well but beware of memory space

If you plan to buy this version of the Moto X and buy a SD card as well, beware that in order to expand its memory for use in application storing, save your Spotify music and other stuff, you need to formatt the SD card as internal and then you can use it for o save apps and games. The problem is that there is a problem with android phones users formatting their SD cards as internal, (if you do it "external" you can just save photos and videos) the problem is that someday your phone won't recognize the SD card no more and you will loose everything if it isn't backed up in some cloud and you will have to buy another SD card with the same risk that it can happen again. Everything else is good. But if I could reverse time I would buy the same phone but with more memory.

Not Enough Storage (16GBS) - But AMAZING PHONE

I love this phone for several reasons, but toe to toe with 2016-2017 phones it is definitely among the best. The aux jack is oddly placed though especially if you want to take a picture and its a wired cord. It runs fast and smooth. (comparative to what I had prior) The storage is the only problem I have, its advertised at 16GBS but it really has about 10 gigs usable and only 2gbs free when opened because the rest is the OS and pre-installed apps apparently. Which sucks. But it allows micro SD storage so take advantage of that with a good quality one.

When it first came out, this was one of the best Android phones on the market because of its functionality and lack of bloatware. As someone who likes to customize his phone without extra unnecessary software this started off as an ideal phone. I loved it out of the box. The battery life was amazing and the only tiny bit of additional software Motorola included actually made it better. That little bit they added needs to become a stock feature of Andriod. Basically, I can turn on the flashlight just by shaking the phone twice. If I want to open the camera, twist my wrist twice. Those features have come in so handy it's just awesome. Now for the bad. Rumor was, this phone was going to be an early adopter of the next version of Android, but I've finally given up any hope of Motorola doing anything to keep supporting this phone, especially upgrade the OS. While the phone performed flawlessly for a long while, it's developed issues with the bluetooth that tend to require reboots to fix. This is livable, but incredibly annoying. The camera sucks, but if I want great pictures I tend to use my DSLR. There are some other minor annoying issues that keep slowly cropping up that will eventually drive me to a new phone. This saddens me, because when this phone runs like it should, it's amazing and I really don't want to give up my expandable storage or stock OS. All in all I'd compare this phone to the Volvo station wagon I used to own. When it worked right, and it did for a while, it was the best thing on the road even if it was basic and utilitarian. I loved that car. Eventually I got fed up with its annoying little problems, gave it away, and bought a Ford. Motorola, please don't give up on this phone and drive me to buy another Ford!!
