Very good phone with virtually stock Android
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent phone for the price. It is fairly fast and only very rarely lags under heavy use. Most of time the performance is great. The Moto gestures for the camera, flash etc... are very useful. The camera is also decent and the quick charging is also fast. With the micro sd slot, I have 160gb of storage! Battery life is also good. I easily get through a day of light usage and have reached 4 hours of screen on time a couple of times. The main selling point here though is the price.

Great phone for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After months of research I got the Moto X Pure to replace my 2-yr old Galaxy S5. I have (had) Verizon as my service provider and was on the 2-yr payoff/contract plan. Before the GS5 was even paid off, the microphone died, the speaker followed shortly after and lastly two weeks ago the battery started overheating and stopped holding charge. Similar thing happened to my GS4 before that. The thing is, I'm not particularly rough on my phones, I just put them to use for everything they've got. They are my workhorse phones not pretty accessories and I expect as much from them. My phone functions as our primary or "home" phone so it gets a lot of calls. I use GPS and run maps on it on a daily basis, download documents for work, check email, surf the web, pay for kid's school fees, track accounts, access and edit Google Drive spreadsheets, word documents, listen to pandora and amazon music, check my calendar, track task lists, make notes, Hot Spot for my kids' Kindle Fires when we travel, watch videos, read books on the kindle app and I can go on and on. In other words, I USE IT A LOT. It is my one stop for managing life. I find that the Samsung phones apparently can't keep up. Maybe the Moto X Pure won't be able to either. The difference is I can get 2 MXP's ($280) for the price of one GS7 ($672). Going with the MXP has also allowed me to switch to Verizon Prepaid and I am loving it so far. Between the savings on the phone price and on the plan price I finally feel like I am getting the biggest bang for my buck when it comes to cellphones and cellphone service. In terms of the quality of the phone, here is my list of pros and cons: Pros: -intuitive and easy transition from the Galaxy experience -little bloatware (huge pet peeve of mine! Who uses Milk Music anyway?!) -screen resolution is good, no complaints -decent battery life (but battery is not removable like the Galaxy's) -good camera and I actually like the way they have it set up over the Galaxy's. Cons: -the Calendar widget doesn't have an option to view the whole month, only day. I like the month view for quick reference, it will take some getting used to. -the screen is too big. I know, crazy, but as a petite woman, I don't have big hands and prefer a phone that fits in my palm. The S5 was border-line too big. This was actually a pretty big issue for me and the reason why I did not get this phone sooner. Ultimately the price and the other features of this phone won out. Bottom line, yeah, I would recommend this phone. And if you are on Verizon, be prepared that they may try to talk you out of it or tell you this phone doesn't work on Verizon network or (and this one's a kicker) that it won't work on the prepaid plan because it is "not a Verizon prepaid phone". All nonsense. Helps to do your research ahead of time so that YOU can educate the Verizon rep. He he. But this phone will work on any network, it is both a GSM (Tmobile and ATT compatible) and CDMA (Verizon and Sprint compatible) phone. I believe it's actually a dual-sim phone, but I have only used the Verizon sim card so I don't know if both types can be in there at the same time. Oh, and it's a nanoSIM card so if you get this phone, take it to the nearest Verizon/Tmobile/Sprint/ATT store to set up. Again, I have Verizon so I took it to their store right after I bought it (Best Buy said they couldn't do the set up, don't remember why.... maybe they did not have the right SIM card?). After convincing yet another rep that this phone works on Verizon prepaid, it took them 15-20 to complete the set up and transfer my number from the post-paid to the prepaid plan.

Great overall phone with a kick a-- camera/video.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone after researching, Cnet magazine and reading tons of Best buy reviews. The phone/jukebox, I play lots of music through the dual front speakers is the best. When I'm not listening to music I am taking kick a__4k very dependable pictures. I simply love my Moto x pure!

Great phone for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switched from an iPhone 6 to this phone to delve into the Android world. The biggest selling point was that it was unlocked and I could just switch my sim card and go. So far, I have had no issues. Some things that just work on the iPhone require installing third party software (webDav, calDav), but if you are using Google for everything that won't be an issue. I'm pleased by camera performance and GUI speed. So far, I have no regrets. I knocked 1 star because Motorola is pretty slow with security updates, but that's Android in general, so...

A budget gem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As my wife's 2013 Moto X was showing its age, we needed to find a worthy replacement. Pros: - Price (we got the black 32GB for $250) - General snappy performance - Camera is a great improvement - Battery Life and Fast Charge capabilities - No bloatware - Wave hand over phone to show time and notifications Cons: - Size makes one handed use difficult (4.7" to 5.7" screen size was quite a shock) - Charger does not have a detachable USB cable - Haptic feedback can cause audible noise when on the phone Other Thoughts: - No fingerprint scanner or wireless charging, but not expected at this price point - Water resistant, but not waterproof

Worth looking into.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this 32GB Moto X Pure Edition ($100 off) through the Best Buy website. Needless to say, it is certainly worth every penny. Pros: very loud volume capabilities, crisp display, expandable storage and super-fast charging. Actually, it charges faster than any other phone I've owned. Cons: no fingerprint scanner and photo cropping is a little weird. The camera does take nice photos and music plays loudly and clearly through the front-facing speakers. We can set this phone on the table in our sunroom, connect to Spotify and relax to the music. This phone is a "buy" at $279 or less.

Still the best smartphone available.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Because I've had such a satisfying experience with the Moto X Pure Edition that I bought for myself from Best Buy last March, I recently purchased this MXPE from Best Buy as a Christmas present for my wife, to replace her 2013 Moto X. So far, her device has been just as reliable and easy to use as mine. Some people have criticized the camera quality and battery life, but I'm consistently receiving compliments for the photos I've taken with the MXPE, and both my wife and I are happy with the battery life -- ordinarily lasting at least a full day without needing a recharge. In my opinion, the MXPE is still the best smartphone available, including newer devices that sell for more than twice the price. I'm glad I could get one before they disappear from the market.

Awesome camera and stellar screen quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Moto x pure has been on my radar for a while now. Alongside the LG g4 and the OnePlus 2. But at thediscount price of about $269....Now that's a steal. So I hurried to Best buy and got it. Overall the smartphone is smooth and effortless. Completes all tasks I give it. And the customer service at best buy was amazing. The awesome camera is very good at point and shoot pictures. Pictures are clean and clear and the Quad HD screen is just stellar. I love looking at it everytime I pick up the phone. Only downside is battery life isn't that good but nothing fast charging can't fix. It charges blazingly fast.

Great unlocked phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this phone because it was unlocked and great specs and have since been very satisfied. If you buy through Moto you can customize it with many options which is a nice feature for those that wish to personalize their phones look. Runs a near pure Android OS without all the bloatware many brands have. With it I was able to add the Micro SD card as internal storage to increase the space, allowing apps that couldn't normally be on a SD card to be on it. I haven't done much with the camera but it does take better pictures then my old phone and I would hope so since this has 21MP.

Good phone, great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the 2014 Moto X and the new Moto X Pure Edition is much improved. It screen size is great and resolution if on par with others. Having pure android is also a bonus and the speed of the phone is evident. The fact that this model has a memory card slot and can hold up to 256GB drive is awesome. No need to buy a 64GB (or higher) if you already have microSD cards available. The quality of the build is great, it feels solid. Setup is as easy as any other Android phone. The one thing missing is a fingerprint reader. The camera is really good, but sometimes does have a hard time focusing until you force it. Otherwise it works well. Overall I'd highly recommend this phone. Can't get much better for the price.

Buying for a family.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed phone upgrades for everyone in the family so ages and needs were all over the place. I'm happy with the phone and thrilled with the camera. The memory is fine for me and the kids can add to theirs in the future if needed. I have been shopping and reading reviews extensively and this exceeds my expectations. Best of all it's unlocked so I can change my provider if I choose. Kids are happy too. The battery life is great. They are charging a lot less often.

Great Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have enjoyed everything about this phone. The fact that its unlocked and better priced than most of the carriers options. I still have my unlimited options with Verizon and always having to buy out my phone or lose unlimited if i upgrade with them. This gave me the best option. I looked at this phone an as well as the Nexus 6. This phone won out due to the added sd card storage. No issues with phone yet but have only had for almost 3 months

Moto X Pure
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this phone to replace my Samsung Note 3. It meets the basic needs I have for a phone - large screen and micro SD slot. Because it is unlocked I can take it with me if I elect to change carriers. It also doesn't have the bloatware that many carrier provided phones come with. All-in-all it is a good value and seems to be an excellent phone

Great design, interface, built
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm so upset to hear that Moto is now Lenovo's. I prefer the design of Moto's designer than Lenovo's: it's pure, clutter free, clean design inside out. Camera, though it's not the strongest piece of Moto, 21mp is powerful enough to capture a good picture UNDER ADEQUATE LIGHTING. I picked this up after it's been a couple year since it first came out too, but not a second I regret my decision. I double dare you to pick out anything in the current market that has this good quality for the same price. Overall it's a sturdy phone with quality hardware, splash-proof, and pure android. Love, love, love!

Pure indeed,
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a bare bone Android OS phone that's got an above average camera. It's quick and light weight(p.s. this comes from a person who owned a nexus 6☺️). I like the front flash and the display, touch screen is very intuitive. Amazing value for you buck

Killer deal at the Sale price of $250
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally wanted to buy a customized version on moto maker, but could not get myself to spend $350, for this unit sight unseen. Before I bought this at BB I had seen it for the same price but with some freebies thrown in at B&H photo, with free shipping and no tax. But I had not held the phone or tested it to see if it would fit in my pocket. I went to check out the phone at BB and made the decision that if it went on sale again I would get it. Soon enough it did and put it in my cart for store pickup in princeton, but it sold out there and changed store to east brunswick where I went to pick up the phone. It was ready for me when I got there. I unboxed it and upgraded the os a few times to bring it up to 6.0 android. I copied over all my apps from a previous Moto G with googles help. It went smoothly. I ordered the new sim chip from my phone provider and once inserted it set up everything almost immediately. I can say that when used as a phone the battery life is good (probably can run for up to 3 days) unless you cannot put down your phone like many people that I see. The screen is very bright and can be seen decently even in bright sunlight, like on the beach down the shore. The voice quality and signal strength is very good. The speed of the phone is very snappy and it has yet to falter or lag on me. The few extra Moto features work well. The camera takes awesome pictures, it focuses fast and when there is good lighting, the quality is impeccable. I added a 128Gb memory cart to store tons of albums in flac format. Is this the absolute best phone out there? Probably not but considering the sale price and that it usually gets included in discussions of the much higher exalted phones it is a great compliment to this great piece of hardware. Why spend more if you don't have to?

Motor X Pure Edition Bamboo almost perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my Moto X Pure for over a month and couldn't be happier. It's a quality unlocked phone that does everything I need and more (still learning). It's a high quality device for a great price and I'm not tied to a carrier. That means the carrier bloatware I could never remove on prior phones is now gone! I only have one small negative. There is no notification light on the phone. Not a deal breaker but something I had gotten used to and miss. Overall, very impressed.

Great phone and good price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a phone to replace my LG G2. I was comparing Moto G4 Plus & Moto X. I decided to go with Moto X due to the specs. It was on special promotion for $250/- Great price for an excellent phone. I purchased the unlocked version. No unneeded software. Great camera. Twisting the wrist opens up the camera. Excellent sound quality. Battery lasts for several hours. It comes with turbo charger which charges the phone very quickly. Very happy with the purchase.

Excellent unlocked phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent unlocked phone that allows for use on all major carriers. The screen size is the same as the Note and the price is affordable. These days all the carriers are charging monthly fees for a new phone and some are charging "access" or "terminal" fees on top of that. The purchase of an unlocked phone means I don't have to pay all those fees and I am not locked into a contract or installment payment scenario. This phone is as pure android as I have seen. No extra carrier specific or manufacturer specific apps bogging it down.
