This phone comes with about 60 preinstalled apps that you can't remove, you basically don't even own your own phone. The non removable Google search bar listens to everything you say unless you specifically disable it's microphone permissions.

Text messaging got gradually slow as it started taking HALF A MINUTE to submit each message (@ 6-month mark). It's worse now: somtimes sends duplicate messages, sometimes refuses to send at all. As soon as the 1-year mark hit, charging the phone became a nightmare. Stopped showing that it's charging AND it's taking now 9 HOURS for a full charge! And it's getting worse every day. Contacted Motorola.. I am told I am ONE WEEK over my 1-year warranty! Should have stayed with Samsung.

I checked with the salesman several times to confirm the phone would work for Verizon, he sort of brushed me off and assured me it would work. I then took it to Verizon to activate, which they informed me was impossible. When I returned to Verizon the same salesman tried to return it as an opened product meaning I wouldn't even get the full price back (it hadn't even been an hour). Thankfully a manager sorted it out and got me the correct model. The Verizon version I now have is wonderful, so if this is similar then I would recommend it if you are not a Verizon client.

Horrible experience. Phone wouldn't charge. Used feel squad protection for a new device. They didn't have a compatible one. Had to spend another $100 for a different device.

I have had iPhones and several Samsung phones before this Z Play. I LOVE this phone. The pictures are not the greatest, so don't buy it thinking they are DSLR quality. But they are good. The battery is awesome, and the Moto mod charge pack works so well I can go 4 days with heavy internet browsing and FB use. The key pad is responsive and I have yet to fat finger ever. It is a bit heavy, but I like the weight because I know why it's there...battery. The mods are really cool. Not a lot of bloatware and no hanging up or freezing. It's a really great phone for the price, truly. Be prepared to buy a case online if you want a full case as there still are not many out there for it. The back is glass, similar to the older iPhone so you will want to protect it. It feels good in my small hand, which surprised me because it's a decent sized phone. Resolution while watching videos is beautiful. Please be aware: Some of these do not have updated OS, so you will be prompted to update. But they all come separately, including separate security patches. After downloading and installing updates, go back to 'check system updates' over and over until they are finished. Also, a few people have reported that the headphone jack doesn't work...but I think it is sensitive to dust. Mine seemed to be malfunctioning but after simply blowing the dust out it works perfectly. I think that if you have used a Samsung you will enjoy the transition to this phone as the interface is so similar. Enjoy, it's a great phone at this price.

I love this unlocked phone and got it after reading reviews here and in other publications. The biggest selling point is its remarkable battery life. For the first time with any smartphone, I can go all day on a charge, and have plenty of battery life left without recharging, and I am a heavy user. The phone is well- built and attractive with glass front and back and with a metal frame. Of course, it also accepts the Moto Mods. I did not get the Incipio battery back from Best Buy when I bought the phone, but added it later from another vendor. With the back, I can easily go three full days of use without recharging. Once you have experienced that convenience, you will be hard-pressed to ever give it up. The 5.5 inch screen is gorgeous, and I am very satisfied with the camera. Some reviews seem more critical of the camera performance than I have experienced. In broad daylight, or well-lighted scenes, it is the equal of any smartphone camera I have used. No, it is not iPhone or Samsung Galaxy quality in low light, but I think it does quite adequately, and I am comparing it to any smartphone I have ever owned. Reception is crisp and clear, and I simply removed my AT&T nano SIM from my Galaxy s6 and popped it into this phone, which instantly registered on the network with not one second's delay. I am anxious to try some more of the Moto Mods, and really like this phone. Well built, beautiful, and highly recommended. Way to go Moto!

When I open the box the screen on the phone was cracked my daughter took it back to Best Buy for me they refused to do anything horrible
