Many users rave about the phone's long-lasting battery, allowing them to go about their day without worrying about recharging. The camera is also widely praised for capturing great photos. Easily the best phone ever for me!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Moto Z Play (Unlocked) is easily the best phone for me. It definitely beats my Moto X Pure which I loved and it beats my iPhones that are gathering dust now. It has everything that I want and more. Style? This phone looks good without a moto style shell but it really looks amazing when you put on the moto style shells like the black leather, silver oak, charcoal ash or red ballistic nylon. I actually have these 4 moto style shells. Very stylish and unique design that is different from the boring same old looking phones. One of the best looking phones ever. Screen? The screen is gorgeous because it is super amoled. The colors are just more vivid and the blacks are really inky black. Sound? The speaker is very good, beats many large screen phones in that area and can get loud but it isn't on par with my Moto X Pure's speaker that has front dual stereo speakers. User interface? Motorola easily has the best user interface as it is user friendly, clean, speedy and comes without the clutter. Far better than IOS, samsung and any others out there. Performance? The 625 processor is a blazing fast and EFFICIENT processor and is very difficult to tell the difference vs 820 processor. All the youtube reviewers constantly praise the 625 processor for good reason. It even performs very well with heavy gaming. When I got my phone, I did a side by side test with my Moto X Pure with its 808 processor. To my surprise, the Moto Z Play was actually more snappier and was opening many apps faster than the Moto X Pure. Battery? This phone has an insanely unreal battery life. I can get consistently 10 hours screen time in 2 days. I have reached 12 hours screen time on 1 charge. Some people spend like +$800 on a "flagship" and they get 3 hours screen time and are glued to a wall socket. Put on the Incipio battery mod and you get like 15 hours screen time. Camera? The motorola camera shoots very good pictures and it has improved the Motorola camera interface from the Moto X Pure. Feature? The Moto Mods is a great feature that only Motorola does. You can swap styles with the moto style shells, put on an incipio moto mod for extra battery, put on a JBL speaker that sounds great, etc. I highly recommend the Moto Z Play.

Amazing battery
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Moto Z Play is an incredible device. Not only do you get Moto Mods but your getting what performs at a flagship level for half the price of other phones. At $450 you get a 625 snapdragon processor which is no 820 but you honestly can't tell the difference on this phone. It performs just as well as any other device on a day to day basic. Next you're getting a SUPER AMOLED display and a 1080p screen, which again isnt the best on the market but looks absolutely stunning. I cant tell the difference. The fingerprint reader is a way nice addition to this phone that I missed on past Motorola devices and it works really well and is very fast. Also Moto Mods. I have the battery pack and the speaker which I could not be more impressed by. They snap on very easily and work well. They are secure and won't fall off so no need to worry about that. And finally, what I said at the beginning is this phones battery is incredible. This battery can last me two full days without a single charge. Plus the phone comes with a turbo power charger that gets 9 hours of battery in 15 minutes. Add the Incipio off grid power pack and you can get through a whole week barley charging here and there. I've heard other reviewers call this the Android battery smartphone king. That is absolutely unprecedented for a $450 phone. This is definitely worth your money and you will not regret this purchase.

Gimmicky ....falls apart
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Botttom line folks....these devices work for a short time, if at all, then have all sorts of problems. The reason? I think that it's the magnets. Any particle of dust will throw these phones out of whack. I went through 3 of them in the space of 3 months. After the last one broke and I couldn't get Motorola to respond, I gave up. Garbage. CAVEAT EMPTOR: DON'T BUY!

another "certified" product DOA

Prehistoric
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is leagues behind in technology from the Samsung I was using. Messaging requires too many steps to create a message, and so many other features require too many steps to use. The phone is huge, and does not offer an option for one handed operation.

Better than Nexus 6p
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Nexus 6p gave up the ghost. Thems big shoes to fill and so far the Z Play is better than my Nexus 6p. Only had this phone a short time. Will hopefully do a follow up post in future but as for now: display Bright and vivid audio clarity Clear as a bell. I don't have a hearing problem but i couldn't hear very well most other phones. The z play is clear and loud. external speaker Loud. Very clear. At full volume Pandora had no distortion. Also, I use speaker phone a lot and was very pleased battery life My kids stream stuff on YouTube in the car, we play games and I use the phone for GPS. My screen is active a good portion of the day on a regular basis and after 12+hours of this I'm at 42%. Not too shabby Fingerprint scanner works better than my Nexus 6p. My hands are beat up from work so most fingerprint scanners fail me. Not this beast. Camera Excellent. OS Nearly stock Android is amazing experience. Very little bloat. And most of what I could consider bloatware are unnecessary Google apps that I don't use (play music, sheets, etc) I could go on and on about this thing...it's a good buy. Unlocked, no carrier bloat, quick and snappy processor, excellent battery, good sound and a sharp camera. This phone has so far surpassed my expectations. One thing that I could complain about is the lack of accessories available from Best Buy. No cases or screen protectors (at the time I wrote this.) Very inconvenient. In the end I still give this 5 stars because the product itself is well made and worth every penny.

Excellent Battery, Value for money smartphone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using it for past 4 days. What amazes me is battery life. It was connected to charger for very less time during these 4 days may be 2 hours, thanks to turbo charging. I use Google launcher and the camera with google launcher was not doing justice with the camera on this device. I replaced it with Open camera and results are better than camera with google launcher. The charger comes with this device is attached to the charging cable therefore I cannot detach cable and use the same in the car. However, considering the battery life I used GPS of this phone without charging cable and results are amazing. It will drain just 5% in 30 mins of use with GPS and screen on. I even used it as Hot spot for hours without connecting it to a charger. Screen brightness feels less on a sunny day, however you can still see the icons but you will have to go with full brightness. I do not see any performance lag in normal usage like browsing, videos etc...I don't play much games so I will not comment on that. Looks are OK, if you use a premium case, it will look better. I used MODS with this phone at best buy, that definitely enhances performance of this phone. Overall its a value for money device, you will feel like you have got more than for the money you have paid.

Great Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an S7 Edge before this phone and was tired of the Samsung interface. I was also not looking to pay $700 for a phone when the midrange phones have come so far. Most people seem to opt for the OnePlus 3, but I really like Moto phones. This phone is no exception. The speed is great. I never notice that the phone does not have an 820 processor. As most people have noted, the real differentiator is the battery life. I spend all day on my phone, and I no longer need to find a charger during the day. One key for battery life is too leave the brightness at half. The mods are the cherry on top, and work really well. Buy this phone, it will impress you (and save you some money).

Outstanding performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use my phone for productivity Google apps , and fitness tracker, with music. Upgraded from Nexus 5 . This phone is smoother in daily tasks than the older Nexus. The main benefit is the battery, it last a full day and the battery pack mod adds wireless charging which I can use my old Nexus charger with. The jbl speaker is great, used it in a hotel bar with friends playing music and you tube, loud and clear. Finger print scanner is fast , Moto active display is awsome. No bloat ware this is pure Android plus Moto mods that's it. The Moto hand gestures are all great, chop for flash light. Twist for camera . Work great. Got a bumper case and glass screen protector . Great phone awsome price plus fun mods. Battery life is great!

Awesome phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased 2 phones. One for son and one for dad. Both absolutely love the Z Force Droid. Amazing camera and photos, wonderful battery life, and sleek operating system. Only downside is the charging port isn't micro usb, do now I need more for house and car. However, I purchased an adapter on Amazon so all good!

Top Smart Phone with longest battery
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having frustrated with my previous iPhone 6S poor battery life, I went on to buy this Moto Z play mobile. This is a top rated smart phone for the best battery life ever invented in the planet. This made my life more easier during extended outdoor vacations and no need of portable power bank at all. Moreover the other features are very impressive like cameras, video quality, rich appearance. I don't like to waste money on Samsung and iPhone flagships for less than a day battery life.

Back to android
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first android phone in 4 and half years. Been using windows phones and given the lack of new models from MS, switched to android. Its the first MOTO phone i have used and i am happy to recommend it. The premium phones like Pixel, Samsung are a bit over kill for my taste ( Cost a lot of money )There are tons of phones in the mid-range market for android and its a hard choice to make. I have looked at One plus, Axon ZTE, LG and other companies but the MOTO brand had better reviews. The reviews across the board were solid for the MOTO Z family and the allure of MOTO mods had me wanting to try them. Purchased the MOTO camera mod with the phone. Haven't taken it out for a test in low light so can't comment on the performance. Pros: The build is solid and feels premium. MOTO mods Not too expensive. Looooooooong battery life. Cons: Camera is decent ( been using lumia 1020, 1520 so the quality is a bit on the lower end). Waiting for Android Nougat

Awesome device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Z Play is a great device in almost every aspect. Battery life is waaaay better than expected, easily lasting 2+ days with normal use. Even though its a lower end processor than the top tier Z, you dont notice it and there is zero lag while using the phone. The fingerprint scanner is instant and you quickly get used to it. The only downside is finding a case, every case out there including otterbox is made for the Z and NOT the Z Play so they either dont fit or dont have the headphone jack hole.
