Customers are saying

Customers highly value the Moto Z Play 4G LTE for its exceptional battery life, impressive camera quality, and affordable price point. Many users rave about the phone's long-lasting battery, allowing them to go about their day without worrying about recharging. The camera is also widely praised for capturing great photos. The battery life on this phone provides about 12 hours of screen time. The performance is super smooth, never a studder. Moto Mods attach easily and are simple to use. Build quality is outstanding. Bought my wife one right after I got mine. Could not be happier.

This phone is slim and light weight. I got the battery add on mod by incipio and it works perfectly. Between the on board and additional battery this thing runs literally for days. Super smooth UI, real fast, only had a glitch or hiccup one time with Google maps where it had so shut down the app. Also, I love the camera launch gesture and the flashlight gesture, they work great and are very useful. The screen is perfect size for me the the AMOLED screen and whatever res it has is plenty good. I'll keep this phone for the next 2 years and be happy. And for the price too?! Why would you ever bother with an $800 phone. I've spent plenty of time with flagship phones too and I'd honestly prefer this one.

Fast, great camera, and the battery lasts me extremely long after a single charge. If I moderately use my phone it will last me 2 days or so, whereas if I use it a lot it will last the complete day.

What can I say? The phone works great and the built-in cameras take very good pictures. The finger print security is also a wonderful option for keeping your files and private information secure. The Moto mods are the coolest feature. I have the projector and the Incipio car adapter. It provides a secure mount for the phone at any angle and also charges the device. When combined with the free Android Auto app it connects to your cars audio system via Bluetooth for full hands-free operation - navigation, phone, and text messaging. From what I understand there are at least a dozen more mods to be released within a year.

This phone is great. The battery is awesome. I don't need to carry a charger with me everywhere I go anymore. The screen looks good and the camera is decent. I have been a big Motorola phone fan since I had my Moto x pure edition. Can't beat it for the price.

The Moto z play battery does not disappoint. It touts a 50 hour battery and in my real world use will go for about 3 days. One reason I got the z is because I loved the AMOLED screen on a previous phone. I I cracked my Nexus 5 before buying the Moto z play and while I liked my old phone the screen was just meh. I am so glad to have an AMOLED screen again. the colors are so much more vivid and bright. Also love the battery friendly Moto notification display. This phone is worth every penny and a great alternative to spending $700 to $800 for a flagship phone that doesn't give you much more.

This phone replaced a Samsung S5 and is a much better phone. The additional memory (ram and prom) allow you to have more apps that operate faster. Camera is also better. Wireless charging back cover is really a plus. Screen is bigger and as sharp as any.

phone locked up only after having it not even 6 months, luckily is was still under factory warranty. the biggest hassle was sending it back to the company. Had a hard time getting some one to understand what I needed. after trying for 3 days finally got some resolution to my problem.

The reason I purchased this is because I used to have a Droid Maxx with Verizon and loved it. Yeah, it didn't have as nice a screen as the iPhone, HTC or Galaxy but just plain worked with awesome battery life. Ditched Verizon for T-Mobile though because well, Verizon is expensive and not worth the extra price to me (my bill was cut in half switching). Went with a Galaxy S5 and hated it. It worked slow and mine had memory card slot issues. It would corrupt the card every now and then (losing my pics). I first thought it was because of a bad card that was getting old and got a new one. My GS5 not only corrupted that card but it also killed it which was a Samsung microSD card too. By the time I realized the card slot was messed up I couldn't exchange it. I toughed it out with that phone for just over a couple of years until I found my replacement phone. So when I saw that the Moto Play Z was being offered unlocked I went for it over the regular Z. Didn't feel the cost difference was worth it as both phones are better spec'd than my GS5. Loved the battery life offering and no carrier or manufacturer bloatware to slow the phone down (I'm talking to you Samsung). Works great with battery life as good as claimed. Much faster and better than my GS5. Plus having a sd card slot that works is now awesome running a 200gb Sandisk with no problems. Much less lag than last phone surfing or switching between apps. Cons, this phone is huge.....I used to think a 5 or 5.1" screen phone was big but manageable. This makes my GS5 and the iPhone 6 (have one for a work phone). Seem tiny in comparison. My arm gets tired holding this phone in bed surfing away. The screen is nicer than I expected but still not as nice as the GS5. Can't compare to the iPhone 6 as I use that only for emails, phone calls and the occasional waze use (don't have to pay any overages). The phone came with a back case which doesn't hold very securely on the back. It won't fall off but has play. I use the back plate because the rear camera sticks out a lot. When traveling it takes a long time to connect to a network. When I say long we are talking a few minutes. While my Z Play is still looking for towers my wife has already responded to messages received and my work iPhone already noticed me that I have a bazillion emails while in the air. Same with international travel it took a long time to find networks and wouldn't automatically connect to one like the other 2 phones I mentioned. Had to manually choose one. Lastly the camera is decent but Samsung and iPhone is much better. The wife has a GS7 now and the pictures are much better on that. Overall I'm happy with my purchase as I was looking for the advantages of an unlophone with less bloatware and the awesome battery life.

The Moto Z Play strikes the perfect balance of specs, performance, software, features, functionality and price out of the current crop of phones out on the market. The hardware quality and design is good and it has alot of good useful features and it's specs make it close to a high end phone like an iPhone 6s or Samsung S7 without the high price tag. It's design is based of the flagship design of the Moto Z Force which costs alot more. One of the biggest advantage of this phone is it's battery life which beats pretty much beats every other phone out there with it's large 3500 mah battery and it's really fast charging ability 1.5 hour for full charge. It has some of the newest and up to date features like USB-C and has an excellent chipset in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 which is an almost flagship high end powerful chip for current phones. Another huge advantage especially for Android phones is it's software, it runs on nearly stock Android which is the best user experience and performs fast and smooth without bloat ware and other pre installed software that will slow the phone down and ruin the user experience by making it complicated to use compared to Samsung or other phones. It's also has a bright big very good 5.5 in 1080p HD AMOLED screen that's very clear and vivid even in the sunlight and very good 16 MP main camera that takes great pictures and even has a flash for the 5 MP selfie camera. Motorola has successfully created a game changer for phones with its Moto Mods for the Moto Z line. LG tried but failed with it's modular design concept, but Motorola successfully made the concept work as a practical and easy to use feature. Best Buy had a promo when I bought my phone that I got the Incipio battery mod for free which allowed me to try the Moto Mod feature. The Moto Mod concept really works well in real life and the battery mod gives my Moto Z Play really long battery life like 2+ days of heavy useage. It's very simple and easy to use and works with the phone well and the modular design gives the user quick and easy options to upgrade their phone's capabilities. Other good features of this phone are 3 GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, expandable memory card support, 3.5 mm headphone jack port, and it comes GSM unlocked so you can use it on any wireless carrier. It's really close to a flagship Android phone in terms of design, hardware, specs, and features with good nearly stock software and the modular capability at under $450 whereas most Android flagships and iPhones run around $700.

In 2012 I started to use Motorola as my phone brand I loved the quality of it my first phone was a moto G than I jumped to Moto x pure edition. The pure edition was waaaay better than this zplay hands down. Being unlocked you can run into alot of issues and that's the problem with this phone it lags A LOT and has trubleshooting apps; don't get me wrong it has a great quality of picture but the phone isnt just good enough it's not even water resistant like older versions. I mean it's perfect if you have the money and buy the mods but to me isn't worth it.

I purchased Unlocked Motorola - Moto Z Play 4G LTE with 32GB Memory Cell Phone as gift for my wife. Battery stay really really long & Camera quality is also great. Phone is really smart. It determined location based on our routine as well as fetching information from email. Figuring out friends or family member near by may be fetching information from contact. And the amount is 2 or 3 times lesser than my iphone7. Thumbprint scan is added advantage.
