Customers are saying

Customers highly value the Moto Z Play 4G LTE for its exceptional battery life, impressive camera quality, and affordable price point. Many users rave about the phone's long-lasting battery, allowing them to go about their day without worrying about recharging. The camera is also widely praised for capturing great photos. Despite these positive aspects, a few users have expressed concerns about the charging port not being micro USB and the occasional issue of a cracked screen.

    Battery for days

This is the best Android phone I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of phones. Most have been high end (last two phones were the S7 edge and LG V20), so I was a little hesident to purchase this. I have no regrets with this phone though. The battery life is ridiculous. I'm at almost 5 hours screen on time, and I am at 50% battery. This phone just works. Good software, great optimization, and a stellar battery life make this a must buy if you're looking for an unlocked phone in this price range! The phone is smooth and handles anything I throw at it. Don't discount the 625. This processor handles everything! Buy it. You won't regret it!

Honestly this is the smoothest phone I've ever used. I'm coming from a galaxy s5 sport and at the time that was somewhat of a flagship. This is considered "mid range" but definitely doesn't feel like one. It's quick with everything it does and I've yet to see it lag even once. Not even on Facebook or snapchat and that says something. The most impressive thing to me is the battery life though. I've used this thing from 3pm to 4am with almost 8 hours of screen on time and it STILL had 10% left over. i seriously can't kill this phone. It all around feels like you paid twice as much as you actually did and i have no regrets

I love my moto Z play! Battery is amazing I charge my phone once every two days with pretty heavy use. The fingerprint reader is amazing, even better than my s7. Screen is clear and good for watching videos. Very happy with my decision to go with the z play.

    Best Mid Tier Device Ever

As a mid-tier smartphone offering, the Moto Z Play is just about perfect. The design, styling and build quality are all top notch. The tech specs leave little to be desired. Really the only weak point in the entire package is the camera. It's fine for quick captures but when stood up against the competition in 2017 it simply can't compete. If that's a deal breaker for you then so be it, but if it's not this is a device that can deliver everything you need at a fraction of the cost of the big boys.

It's fast. And the battery life is no joke. It just doesn't seem to die. I've had more expensive phones but not better!

So far this phone is everything i was looking for in a new phone. The finger print scanner is pretty slick and the phone processor is pretty fast. Can't wait to get the Projector and try it out.

Best android phone I've ever owned

Best android phone I've ever used. - Battery life is BEYOND AMAZING. Others always make claims, but this one literally goes 1.5-2 solid days without a recharge. Add on the battery mod and it increases further. - Hardware gestures are super robust and reliable ("chop chop" for flashlight, "doorknob" for camera) - Fast and bloat-free (unlike Samsung)

    Good for a budget

The Moto Z Play is the budget friendly version of the Moto Z. I ended up returning this phone and went with the Z for a few reasons. For starters, the screen is not as bright as one would want it to be. The phone is also twice as thick as the Moto Z is due to the battery I assume. The camera is not great yet not the worst. Once you add a Moto Mod, this phone is so thick, it is like holding a palm pilot. Battery life does hold up and that is why I tried this phone first.

Don't waste your $ if mods not your thing

I bought this after researching the different Motorola phones available. I have a cheap plan and needed an unlocked phone with a SIM slot. After purchasing, I felt like it was too thin and easily dropped (which I did twice in the first 2 weeks - to the phone's credit, no cracked screen. Not a scratch.). The mods are extra $, so I didn't buy any yet. I choose Motorola because they seem to be the only phones so far I have found that last longer than 2 years. Maybe there are others out there, but not Samsung or LG, and I didn't want an iPhone. The phone seems mostly to work fine and battery lasts a long time. However, I have noticed some things I would liked to have known beforehand. If given a do-over, I would have chosen a different phone. Here's why: Camera sucks. Hard to zoom in and out, pix are hard to focus. And Google for the answer led me to "how to zoom with the mod" which costs $300 extra. Really? So I have an expensive phone with a camera that sucks. The pix come out blurry much of the time. And during my son's Graduation, the phone I have had for less than a month decided to pull a Samsung on me and camera froze, so right at the exact moment it was his turn for diploma and pix? Of COURSE it stopped working and I couldn't even exit out and restart. Then there's the charger opening. I had to spend extra $ on adapters for my android-based chargers (or choose to take the one charger everywhere with me). - The one that comes with the phone is plug-in only - no USB-adaptable type. I did not remember reading this anywhere on any reviews. So, if you only want their cutting-egde mods and you don't care if your camera actually works and you don't mind spending a bunch of extra $, buy this and other Moto z phones.

    The Phone Stopped Working!

I read the positive reviews on the unlocked Motorola - Moto Z Play 4g Lte With 32GB and I was sold! I was extremely happy in the beginning because this phone built is awesome. It is thin and it doesn't feel cheap at all. I could use my 64GB microSD card from my previous phone too. I went to the Motorola Z mods section and I was excited to see all the mods that can be added to this phone. The happiness was cut short. I used it for 4 days and I started noticing my applications started to crash. I thought i was normal, so I restarted the applications. I could not play my CIV game without crashing. I thought it was only the application problems. On the 5th day, the phone started to act funny and slow. I turned the phone off to restart it. It got stuck in the MOTO boot logo and it did the loop of death over and over again. The phone simply stopped working and wouldn't go beyond the boot logo. I googled a solution for the issue, and the only solution is to do a FACTORY SETTING RESET! I had to follow all the reset instructions and OMG, I lost everything and I had to do the setup all over again. I am returning this phone to the store. It is too bad that my excitement is short-lived :(

AWFUL CAMERA and Now Battery is Poor

I haven't had the phone for a year yet. The Projector is awesome however the camera is the biggest piece of ......... I have had every android phone there is and never had a camera where the entire thing is scratched and cloudy as this one. What is the point of looking at scratches in 20 Megapixels. Shattershield is also a scratchy mess. If you get this phone put a protector on the camera and buy a guard... Actually don't even buy this. I am so upset I have to continue to pay for this thing. And MOTO Z customer service is horrible too.
