These radio works great for a small projects that require communication through obstructions. But in the city, it would only work up to like 400 meters of solid obstructions (concrete, brick, sheetrock etc...) Haven't tested it the radios outside the city. (Live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)

Very deceiving package. Purchased the product needing a range of up to 2 miles. Package said up to 23 miles so thought no problem. Went to Florida and was in an area with some hills and tall trees and the range went down to probably 1 mile.

These were bought for my children to use around the neighborhood. Please be aware range is indicative of maximum under certain conditions. Actual will vary considerably.

The range for these radios is deceiving. Realistically it is only about 1/4 to a 1/2 mile in an average suburban town.

The walkie talkies work great and the battery life is awesome 8+ hours. The 32 mile range is a stretch. It has a few mile range in a car travel club caravan. They serve their purpose!!

No issues, ease of charging and ease of use. Distance of communication varies based on line of sight (obstacles between radios)

It's great when you are with your family in a crowded mall, or some place with a lot of people. Also, each radio has a light which you can use it while you are in the woods or something.

Great little walkie talkie. Just read the side of the package where it explains how it gauges the distance because they are always misleading.

Used mainly as camper when signal for phones must aren't the best.they have heart range and the weather radio is awesome.....

While Motorola has generally delivered dependable products and these radios work as expected, one should be aware that mass production sometimes leads to defects which are not found until after purchase. That being said, the FIRST pair of radios purchased...one was dead out of the box. Apparently, some type of faulty case or solder contact was not manufactured correctly and the radio would only work if you twisted the case. The inconvenience of having to go the store and return it (not to mention the hassle of the store NOT having any stock and having to wait a week for the item to be delivered) was the biggest sticking point. IN the end, the radios worked very well for their intended use and would be an excellent choice for purchase...as long as they work out of the box.

I bought these for my 76 year old parents. I wanted my Mom to be able to get my Dad in the event she need him immediately (he refuses to get a cell phone). The emergency red button is a PERFECT feature. Just push and hold for 3 seconds. Even with hearing loss he can’t miss that tone!!! The dial feature they use if she needs him in a non-emergency. Different, much less alarming, and shorter tone than the emergency tone. As far as the 35 mile range claim my husband said that with absolutely perfect conditions maybe? The only thing we were concerned about was that one mile from the house INSIDE the post office the reception was not great. However, for the reason I wanted these I am very well pleased. Plus no monthly bill for the 2 of them to be able to communicate since only my mom carries a cell phone. Thus the 5 stars.

Works well but read carefully regarding range capabilities. 30+ range is with no obstructions so you'd have to be in flat desert far away from any mountains or buildings.

They are great and hold up to the daily use. I just wish the store had a second set available.

Bought these to communicate with other employees. works good as long as there not too far away.

This was exactly what my son wanted. I have not tried them but he has been excited with it.

Good radios for the price. We bought these on-sale to use for a long road trip/move. They worked well; sometimes they broke up if they were not on high power mode even when driving next to each other,

Great item but needs more range, Great when we caravaned up the high way and on a long trip the batteries lasted couple days. Buy the Car charger as back up!
