We bought 2 sets and It says waterproof yet when it was splashed yes splashed with water, screen was damaged and you could see the water behind the screen and device would make weird noises all throughout the night. Had to unscrew it to remove battery for noise to stop. Very disappointed as we wanted to use this on our cruise with our kids and couldn't keep track where they were after it got "waterproofed" wet. Not worth the money.

It was bulkier and heavier than some other walkie talkie but the advantage is that it's waterproof.
