I bought these with the impression that they would work "1" mile or so in the city. Well, we got these for our kids to talk to each other on, and we live about 3 blocks from each other - picture a triangle, that's how far our houses are apart in any direction.. They were very static-y after about 1 block, and unbearable after 2 blocks. Now, I understand that they're made for outdoors use - and they served that purpose very well when we went camping! But, if you plan on using them in the city whatsoever...forget about it.

This product is great for using for a day or trip and worked really well for running a New Orleans Mardi Gras Parade, but at the same time this is NOT professional grade equipment so you are looking for emergency equipment than you might wish to invest in a better product.

I was very pleased with the price and quality of the radios. Have had no trouble with them.

These are my second set of GMRS radios. First set were older models (6 years ago) and these worked much better. Used these with the whole family for a week stay at a lakehouse. Range was excellent on the water, easy to use for the kids. Range was decent from everywhere else. Battery life was decent. Lasted all day and most of the evening on full nights charge.

Good range, although I was not able to fully test the range of these yet, I was able to reach around 1 mile inside city limits near many homes. I used these at the beach to communicate where signal was not the greatest, and they worked flawlessly. If you're looking for a good device that's rugged and full of great features, these are a good buy.

bought the set to go on a 4 day trip out of State and all I can say is Wow the Radio's surprised Me with how Great they worked . plus having the rechargeable batteries there easy to recharge at night .

Bought for a school client. No major issues. Rugged design. Decent signal within school and outside school.

We bought these for when my grandson is visiting. He likes to go down by the pond and play. We can see him but he can't hear us so these are perfect. He snaps one on and heads out and we can contact him when time to come back. Also great when we go camping. We are using them more than I expected. Great range and clarity.

I bought this as a gift for the kids, for when we go traveling in the summers, but really they work great with adults too. You'll want to keep a pair of these around for extreme emergencies like blackouts and fires and such.

Purchased these walkie talkies to use on a long road trip to communicate between 2 vehicles and they worked perfectly. Would recommend for this use.

Although the range is not as advertised, and I've only tested for about two miles, the sound quality is great.

Bought for the kids to take on a cruise. Waterproof, flashlight and long battery life helped us keep in contact with our kids ages 10, 14, 17. Kids were able to have freedom but allowed us the ability to get them back without walking all over.

I used these while doing a road trip thru Hawaii and it worked well even thru the cars. The rough terrain did cause some static here and there. Other than that they are a good buy. I also threw them in the water with no issues.

Got these at a good deal using Best Buys price match (69 at Target) and using a gift card I won. They work great and hold a charge.

These 2 way radios were bought to use on a cruise. they worked very well and are very durable.
