Coffee maker technology has evolved a bit since pod based dispensers were released on the masses. It offered the convenience of making a single serve brew, each time you actually wanted a cup; instead of making an entire carafe with the risk of forgetting it's on. I'm happy to see more traditional manufacturers begin to offer the convenience of having both, without paying a lot for an extra accessory. In the box you'll find the coffee maker, a thermal insulated carafe, a water filter holder, a filter, and the pod holder hidden inside the brew basket, with a reusable pod for single serve coffee. I appreciated that the packaging was made simple, by placing the additional smaller accessories in the water reservoir tank. The unit has minimal plastic wrap and only a couple of stickers to hold the water reservoir in place. I also appreciate the counter space saving design, only taking up about 7 inches wide, with the carafe, and sitting back about a foot. This made placing it near other counter appliances easy, fitting in an unused corner. Just for clarity, each cup is measured at 5 full ounces, and in my use, this was in fact about the amount of coffee to be expected for each serving. If you’re looking to brew a carafe of coffee, make sure to purchase some filters. I found some 12 cup paper filters left from my previously used coffee maker, and found that they were compatible (as listed in the owner’s manual). After a quick wash of the carafe, reservoir, various attachments, and a cleansing brew it was ready to for it’s first cup. If you’re at all curious, the brew basket and the pod holder are also dish washer safe, but nothing else is. You’ll need to set the clock to ensure you’re able to schedule brew cycles for your morning routine, and the responsive physical buttons make programming easy. Regardless of method used to brew, you can fill the reservoir to the max fill line, without worrying about using too much water for your desired size. I should note that this doesn’t have a warming plate for the carafe, as the thermal insulated carafe is able to keep a brewed coffee fairly warm for some time. In my use, the coffee was still hot for at least 2 hours after brewing and stayed warm for about another 2-3 hours (your results may vary). The drip tray where a warming plate would normally be, is easy to remove for draining and cleaning. Having single serve pods already (Kcups from my previous Keurig), I found these easily fit in the pod holder, and the maker immediately begin brewing once I selected the appropriate cup size (in ounces) and hit the ‘brew now’ button. One cup took between 4 to 5 minutes before it was complete, was nice and hot, and didn’t include any obvious grounds making it into the cup. I was more impressed to see this included a reusable pod, and easily accommodating my ground coffee for a more personalized cup. Either way, you can’t go wrong with either option Kcup or using your own ground coffee. The reusable pod was also easy to rinse out after each use. I can also safely say, that with the pod holder in the brew basket, you’re not presented with any carafe sizes when selecting the brew size. Brewing a carafe was just as simple. Remove the Pod holder from the brew basket, insert a paper filter, fill with your desired amount of ground coffee, fill the reservoir to the max fill line, and select the number of cups desired before you hit Brew Now. If you’re trying to schedule a later, or early morning, brew cycle, simply press “Brew Later” then use the Hour and Minute buttons to set the time, and select the brew size. The easy to read display will indicate that a brew is scheduled. Whether you’re brewing one cup or 10, you also have the option of setting the maker to a “Strong” brew setting before you begin. Overall, I’m really impressed with the ease of use. You will need to consider purchasing paper filters for larger brews and replaceable filters as you’ve used it over time. However, the ease of use, space saving design, included reusable pod, and it takes the guess work out of how much water to fill. For those looking for a well rounded coffee maker, this is as easy recommendation. If you’re looking for more fancy options, you’ll need to look elsewhere. However, this has easily bested the quality of coffee from another single serve, and I appreciate the easy disassembly for cleaning when compared to your more standard machine for single serves.

Very pretty but after 3 months started acting up and have to punch to brew 3 times before it actually do. Changed the filter at 2 months thinking maybe that was the problem and continue doing it. Is out of return date so I am stock with if, loose the money or buy another one.

Coffee is not hot enough. After 7 months it would stop brewing. Had to keep pushing brew button to restart. Called company. Yhey did send me a new machine but the new one is even worse than the original. Stay away from this coffee maker.

It broke a week later. The carafe part is fine but the single serve doesn't work after 6 days. Called mr. Coffee, which they outsource so I couldn't understand a singleword. No money back, no exchange. They didn't care.

Much of the display stopped displaying after the basket overflowed onto the controls. I also have to use one to two more scoops of coffee than in my older Mr. Coffee (same size carafe) to achieve the same strength. Save your money.

I followed instructions. Filled the water section to the fill line per instructions. It kept saying add water. No one at the store had an idea what to do other than return it.

The code doesn’t brew hot enough to actually make a decent cup of coffee and since it foes not have a hot plate it is not kept hot in the metal carafe. Don’t waste your money

This coffee maker is unreliable. It will work fine for a month and then makes this weird sound and brews only 1 ounce of coffee at a time. Do Not Buy!

Love it because it simple, quick to brew and small in terms of counter space taken.

Couldn’t get it to work at first, kept saying add water when there was already water in it. Then worked fine for about 2 weeks then quit working all together!!!

Very disappointed in this coffee maker. The pod part doesn’t work most of the time. I haven’t tried the brew part. I put it away. Wanted to return it but didn’t have the receipt.

Horrible, within months of purchase, it's already breaking down. Every time we try to brew it asks for more water even if we keep it full

Not the best coffee maker. Even the strong brew setting did not yield a strong coffee. I could never get the single serve to work. Had to return it.

Really bad!!! It started leaking water after 2 weeks and when we called for help they couldn't fix it.

don't buy this had 2 they both leaked 2nd one took a few weeks but it leaked as well

Great when it works. The issue is it leaks all over the counter. The insulated carafe is great and keeps the coffee hot but the leaks are a deal killer.
