picked up this laptop at the Best Buy store near my house after reading reviews from various websites. I use this about 60% for work and and browsing the web and 40% gaming. Work is mostly MS office stuff with some images imported into word and power points, no problems with that. The games are mostly through Steam and they run with no problem at all. I also use it to edit video from my action camera and this is when I noticed the big difference. I can down load and edit so much faster than I could before, the old laptop was a earlier version I7 laptop with no dedicated graphics card or dedicated ram for graphics. This just runs and edits so much faster it isn't funny. The disk drive is ok, I don't know if it is needed and without it the laptop could be a little lighter, but. I don't think that it is such a big deal.

Not sure what is going on but when I go online I have problems with black screen. Not sure if it's because of window 10 issues etc. Pros... Very fast, beautiful clarity, light weight, again not sure if this is an computer issue or Windows issue overall 4+ out of 5

This is an excellent product designed to outclass its peers. I like the specifications you get for the price you pay. It had got dual fans which is really helpful under high cpu / gpu intensive programs.

This computer has excellent startup speed, can handle almost any game I throw at it, and looks fantastic to boot. However, the speakers it came packed with are awful, and the software that comes preinstalled only does so much, and even then it's not very good.

I enjoy the speed of the computer. The light up key board makes it easy to use in low light and being able to play games. I able to use this product for work and play and at this point have not had any issues with the product. It is very fast!

Computer is fast and gets the job done. Great computer but as with many gaming computers, the battery life is short. Keep your power cord close.

MSI continues to offer reasonably priced high performance gaming laptops. Bought this for my daughter when her old MSI gaming laptop became obsolete and the product continues to satisfy for ultra graphics MMO gaming as well as high-FPS twitch gaming.

I have been playing Bioware and other games off of Origin with this beauty. It not only has a fun back lit keyboard, but can handle most games that I want to play. It is also great for internet browsing and writing papers.

Normally running fast, when windows 10 doesn't get in the way. I have had no problems running any games on this laptop. The color keys are awesome and programmable.

It has everything one may expect from a gaming laptop. Powerfull CPU and GPU. For fast boots and installation duration SSD and must for a gamer, backlit keyboard.

After chasing benchmarks and stats with a Gigabyte P25 and having nothing but problems, including multiple ships to CA for service over its two year lifespan, I decided to go a little more mainstream with the MSI. It has worked flawlessly thus far out of the box, other than typical Windows 10 and compatibility issues. The only gripes would be that battery life is not stellar, MSI's proprietary keyboard layout is funky and illogical, and the screen - as mentioned in other reviews elsewhere - feels flimsy and flexes easily. Thus far it has not been a problem but it does make me nervous. Overall no buyer's remorse and I haven't seen greener grass elsewhere at this price point.

this is my first time with msi, im not a gaming finatic but wanted a nice computer for all things-as i have a 9 and a 16 year old who frequent my laptop. it had an issue with startup program-would freeze on occasion and also when it would go to sleep frequently i couldnt wake it and had to do a hard shut down...my son also fixed that-since those bugs are out i love it dearly. my nine year old loves the keyboard changing colors and my son is envious of me having finally got with the times and bought a new laptop that is better than his.

I wanted a NICE laptop to game with but that wouldnt break the bank. I didnt want to pay for the name, I wanted good specs, and I wanted it to be lightweight and portable. This one is IT. I have had 0 issues with any games, I enjoy customizable lights on the keyboard (frivolous but hey, I enjoy it) and I generally use a mouse, but the track pad is responsive. The boot up time is very quick. I may be so blown away because my last laptop was a 5 year old model. This laptop was exactly what I was looking for. Battery life isnt the greatest if you're not on battery saver but I expected that with the amount of machine inside the case.

Runs my games really well, just one problem which is that it gets heated on the left side next to the mouse pad. Besides that this laptop is very good in my opinion.

This laptop is fast and easy to use. The light up keyboard is really cool. We have no issues running fallout 4 at ultra resolution. I am very happy with this laptop

Overall it's fast, not as fast as I thought it would be with that much ram and quad drive. Battery, not the best, last less than 2 hours, keypad icons located different, and appearance kind of funky. The main C drive even though solid state needs to be larger, have to make sure all goes to the D drive. Has a large enough D drive which is nice. It appears to be a workhorse but would have liked something lighter, hence would have boutht something else.

Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and he loves it. Fantastic visual design and runs super fast. The graphics are clear and everything runs smooth.

This is an awesome laptop, fast, great video, nice sound, and the lighted programmable keyboard is just fun!

Solid gaming laptop. So far it has been able to play any game on high settings. It feels very solid and has a little weight to it.

The build is very good. Look, feel and keyboard are very decent. Love the aesthetics. Top notch performance, gaming is awesome on this PC.
