I bought a MSI Vega 56 to game but realized its computing power. Its a mining rig in a single card. It way cheaper than its competitors. Tuning the OC Vega 56 was easy. AMD software is user friendly and easy to comprehend. I recommend this purchase to anyone.

These are pretty unpopular amongst miners since they typically cant breach the 1750 H/s mark and have a reference fan. However for the low price on these they are a steal and MSI boast will run 10 years under full load and has a 3 year warranty. The fan design is the best working reference design ive seen with temps rising as much as 40 degrees Fahrenheit durring the day the this gpu only rises a few degrees Celsius compared to even some of my RX 5xx rising as much as 6 C and the composite backing plate doesn't put off near the heat. Also has 6 heat sensors for absolute temp readings and control. Although they dont reach the 1900-2000 H/s for the price being 100 to 200 less than other vegas they have the best payoff period currently of any vegas on the market. At about 200 watts max compared to a 64 at 240 a 25% power increase for only 10% increase in hash rates and still above 2x the output of my best RX 5xx it uses slightly more power but for 2x output per pci slot its hard to beat. Been running 160 hours straight only broke 60 C today while my house was open and the temp got up to 83 F. Above 60% fan speed it does sound like a small jet and MSI afterbuner controls it in a strange way but those are very minor issues in my book.

This card is completely compatible with MacOS as an eGPU (external GPU). I have a 2016, 13" Macbook Pro (i7), Thunderbolt 3, running High Sierra 10.13.4 and am using it with a Mantis Venus eGPU case. Worked Perfectly with nothing to do except plug in the Thunderbolt cable ... 100% support through High Sierra. This card is a beast!!! Frame rates with Cinebench 15, show 106 FPS, 2017 Heaven benchmark running on full screen with 'Extreme' setting show 58-64 FPS!!!! I chose this card because the Vega 56 IS on the Apple list of cards officially supported AND this one is an OC (Over Clocked) version, so it is quite a bit faster than the standard Vega 56. There are more expensive cards, but this is a really good "Bang for the Buck" deal AND allow you to have workstation/gaming power at home and still have on-the-go portability for your laptop!
