This laptop is a Beast! It comes loaded with plenty of RAM and a decent graphics card. Sure, it could be better, but you will be hard pressed to find a better laptop with these specs. I can't find much not to like, but if I had to find something to complain about, it would be the font they choose to use for the keyboard. It is not as clear as I'd like, but it looks futuristic with is what I believe they were going for. But all in all, it a very nice laptop that feels solid and fast! Best bang for your buck!

Overheats despite fans, FREEZING/crashing often

For the price and the hype, I am disappointed. This has a common occurance to shut down, freeze up or have over all issues. It over heats very easily and doesn't keep a battery charge for very long at all. I expected it to be at least 10 hours or so for the price, maybe more. It kept a charge for 5 hours. I upgraded to Windows 11 and it hade enough issues for me to downgrade back to Windows 10 in less than 24 hours from the upgrade. You won't be able to have Windows 11 on this, it doesn't support it despite the specs. Its an issue and now I understand why this was on sale. Its currently chilling here right now on a black screen, won't cut off. Been like this for 10 minutes. The fact that I can't take the battery out is an issue too. For the price, I expected SO much more. Very disappointed in this product. The graphics and color are great. The speed is great. But it freezes and crashes way too often to be worth the price. Overheating is going to be a MASSIVE issue.

Beautiful metal design and feel. Its a sleek rectangular design 17 inch and is a bit heavy because of the material, but I enjoy the weightiness of it. The screen is clear & crisp and the adjustable settings are very responsive
I'd like to increase the brightness better without going into the detailed settings...Besides that, the lights on the keyboard are super fun, especially being able to tailor them in any design;
Some CONs: This laptop can get extremely HOT, along with the charger when running some programs or games.
also, there is a sound bar to adjust sound settings, but even with maximum settings the volume doesn't get very loud. external speakers are recommended..
The battery also doesn't last very long. Maximum of 2.5 hours without the charger, and that's with the battery saver ON and just a browser going and no gaming or programs running.
ALSO- there are only 2 USB ports and 2 thunderbolt ports. An external hub for extra ports is HIGHLY recommended, especially if you plug in a handheld mouse, or an external SSD... or USB headphones / audio interface.... etc...etc. Additional ports would just be nice.
This laptop has LOTS of internal adjustable settings to customize a few of the experiences using it. The hardware though could be a bit more intuitive for gaming needs with the heat, ports, and the speakers.

This is a great value even at full price. These specs are unreal, i9, 1TB SSD, RTX3070, and 32GB of RAM!! The built in display could be better (4K), but with these specs, most will use a larger external display. After using it for two months, it lives up to the hype for sure. I can play Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra setting and Ray Tracing turned on, smoothly. But it does run HOT and LOUD. I expected that upfront with the power it’s packing. Speaking of the power, plan on keeping this plugged in Mostar of the time. But that is to be expected with almost all gaming laptops.

Best Laptop for price. One word... Hot!!!!

This laptop is amazing. I was shocked on what type of CPU it has for this thing and didn't realize it was an i9. The very downside of this processor is it runs extremely hot which I was expected. The bottom of the laptop runs extremely hot.
The laptop itself can run any game you throw at it on max settings. This laptop also has a Mux switch on top of Optimus. This is critical as a Mux switch can run off the graphics card completely instead of the CPU. You adjust the mux switch in the bios. You can turn off the Mux switch and run both CPU and dedicated GPU off Optimus if you need battery power.
Overall it is a solid laptop. Just runs hot. Try and see if geek squad can repaste the system and see if that will help. I have not gone this route yet but running on Max settings and running the laptop very hot was not bothersome to the laptop but am worried the laptop will degrade overtime. Overall top notch laptop.
Battery life is extremely poor but that is warranted for a gaming laptop.
Overall 4 stars because of heat issues and a very poor battery life. For the price is it worth it? Oh yes! Better specs than the dell alienware 16GB and i7 they are selling.

I would highly recommend this work horse of a machine! I do alot of video editing, streaming and gaming (sometimes at the same time) and this laptop doesn't skip a beat. The graphics card and processor are great and can really take on a heafty workload so overall I am very pleased. I I probably would have never stepped outside of my comfort zone if I didn't have to take back my first choice for a laptop and get this one in a time crunch because ive never used the MSI brand before but I am soooo glad that I did because this is probably the best laptop I've ever had and I've tried pretty much every brand at one point in time. The only con i really have is the form factor and the fact that it seems a bit stiff at the hinges so sometimes I get paranoid and tend to leave it open for fear of wearing out the hinges sooner but that could be me overthinking or being paranoid. But if you are on the fence about getting this laptop let me tell you now... get it and you won't be disappointed!

"Okay, let me tell you about my MSI GS76 Gaming Laptop. First off, it's like the Thor's hammer of laptops - powerful, sleek, and ready to conquer any digital realm. I'm pretty sure it runs on a fusion reactor or something because this thing is faster than my caffeine-fueled brain on a Monday morning.
The display is so sharp, it's like peering into the Matrix, except instead of dodging bullets, I'm dodging noobs in my favorite games. And speaking of games, they run smoother than a well-oiled penguin sliding down an iceberg.
But let's talk about the keyboard. It's like typing on clouds, if clouds were backlit with rainbow LEDs. And the sound? Oh boy, it's like having a concert in your ears, minus the overpriced popcorn.
Now, let's address the elephant in the room - the price. Sure, it costs a kidney and a half, but trust me, it's worth every penny. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's actually a time machine because every time I open it, hours just vanish into thin air.
So, if you're in the market for a laptop that's more powerful than a locomotive and cooler than a polar bear in shades, the MSI GS76 is the way to go. Just be prepared to say goodbye to your social life. Who needs friends when you've got a laptop like this?"

Right out the box, I was caught by the design and color choice of the MSI. The next thing that struck me was how lighter and more maneuverable it was compared to my previous four-year-old gaming laptop.
The fans, of course, are noisy, but this is not a severe problem. At the moment, I don't see any overheating issues, but I still have 30 days to test. In any case, I should note that the temperature rises quickly enough, but not to critical limits. Also, I should note that the screen flickered several times (this has already been indicated in one of the reviews).
Anyway, I have time to test this computer and turn it in if the test fails.

I read the bad reviews before buying. (I usually do)
Out of the box I downloaded Forza 5, A huge graphics intense fast paced game. As stated in bad reviews I experienced flashing in and out of scenes. The game crashed on one of the flashes. I dug around abit and found the antivirus was offended by the game operation and vice versa . So I uninstalled the Norton AntiVirus and utilities that the Laptop came with. I installed McAfee Total Protection. The flashing ended. The game is not a virus but the antivirus on Norton was slowing down the bit stream to check for viruses and that was wrecking the game.
The are additional video card tweaks in the manufactures' utilities I messed with a little to make everything run perfectly.
The laptop came with 32 GB of RAM and the NVidia RTX has 8 GB of vram and the intel card has another 16 gb of GPU ram that it shares with the RTX. So the RTX has 24 Gb of GPU Ram without touching the 32 GB of system ram. This makes the laptop run cooler than expected through intense tasks.
This is the most I have spent on a laptop. I went through a moment of shock after the purchase. As I continue to use the laptop, I am more and more satisfied with the purchase. It has a good battery and handles what I throw at it with ease.
I would recommend this laptop to a friend who was in the market for a gaming laptop, There are also a few photo, video, and streaming utilities on MSI website from other 3rd parties available for rebate request at this time.

I've owned this laptop for over a month now. Keyboard feels and looks nice, great specs, great display, and runs very fast/smooth even when gaming on high or ultra setting. The only complaints I have is that it can get hot, so I bought a cooling pad and protection plan. First time I bought the laptop, charging port was not working properly so I exchanged the laptop for a new one. No problems since. I would prefer the QHD screen instead of FHD. Also, motherboard is upside down, so upgrades to storage can be tricky. I ended up buying a small external SSD for additional storage instead of trying to mess with that. I am very much enjoying this laptop, however. Best laptop I've owned so far, and this was my first high quality laptop purchase

This laptop GS76 MSI does run a little warm I play world of Warcraft. Mostly on high not ultra. It hums around 76C. With the ultra cooler booster on. Sometimes ramps to 89 or 91 c. But usually comes down to an average around 74 or 76 c. I've had several times that it just shuts down gives me a blue screen error and restarts. It's happened about six times over this year that I have owned this and played world of Warcraft. It runs it just fine. I just don't like the all of a sudden shut down. And the fact that it runs warmer than I think it should be. I also have a laptop cooler running underneath it for additional airflow.

Almost done with Msi laptops

I had the previous version of this laptop as well and Best Buy had to replace it after several times of sending it in to get fixed for things like the computer straight up stopping from working and by the end a fan straight up failed too. Best Buy decided to just replace that one with the new model since it was 2 years old (I had a 3 year warranty like I do on this one) and it was working well for about a week. Then problems started to show. They were intermittent at first, things like the audio completely failing to work and doing things in videos like the picture attach as well as games being unplayable while the computer is messed up, which would only go away after restarting the computer. I've been dealing with these problems for well over a month and they have only been getting worse. I have tried a long list of solutions that should work and have come to the conclusion that the problem is hardware. I have to restart my laptop at least once a day to fix these and it's starting to really get on my nerves. I use this laptop for college as well as some gaming in the off chance I get time to relax because I am very busy and don't have time currently to deal with these problems or to turn it into Best Buy where they'll send it to Msi for fixing for over 2 months like had happened at one time with my last laptop. I know several other people who have had these problems as well and I feel like the question needs to be held against either Best Buy or Msi to why they have such poor quality control for computers that are over 2 thousand dollars. When I find time to deal with them after this semester ends if Best Buy decides to replace the laptop I'm just going to have them change to a different brand like Asus because I've known them to have higher quality control.

I love this laptop. It has been able to handle every game I've thrown at it. However, if I do anything with text, i.e. typing in Word, I can not use the built-in display. The fonts on the screen become unreadable and I have to use a second screen. The problem will persist until I restart. MSI support has been unable to resollve this issue.

I was looking for a proper gaming laptop, to replace the simple Lenovo laptop I had for a couple of years. I was willing to spend as much as needed, but I was mindful of the cost.
I found this laptop and was impressed by its features. Its only limitation seemed to be the standard 32gb it comes with, but that's easily upgradable to 64gb... so, I gave it a shot.
I am SO glad I did!
This system is blazing fast. And, impressingly enough, it seems to have no problems with heat. I put it through its paces with a couple of games I enjoy (granted, I'm not a state-of-the-art gamer, but I play games that are maybe a couple years old). No issues whatsoever.
The monitor is amazing. Crystal clear, no fuzziness. The GPU keeps up without breaking a sweat.
If I had any critical words for this machine, I would say the keyboard is a tad spongy for being a gaming laptop. Not a worry for me, since I use an external keyboard, but for others this might be an issue.
It came with Windows 10, but was an easy upgrade to Windows 11 if that's your want.
Battery life is a factor, and this one only runs about 2-2.5 hours on a charge if you're gaming with it... about 4 hours if you're just surfing the net.

This is an amazing laptop. I work with the Adobe Suite on a daily basis. This handles everything I throw at it. It opens large format Photoshop files with ease, exports HD video like nothing and runs AAA games beautifully.
The other reviews are correct when they say this laptop can get hot. I played A Plagues Tale for a couple hours the first day I had it and she got HOT. The vents on the bottom lack airflow without a little help. So, I bought a laptop cooling pad and absolutely binged the rest of A Plagues Tale in one afternoon (many hours). While I may not be proud of myself, I am proud of this laptop. With the cooling pad she was warm to the touch and that was it. Should be noted that all graphics were set to ultra.
The fans can be loud. I played with a decent headset and only heard the fans when my headset was off.
One other note: The screen has some issues. Several times it became pixilated before turning off. The simple solution was to close the clamshell and open it again. I updated drivers and found a couple solutions online, it has not happened since. If it keeps happening and becomes a huge problem I will try to update this review.

Out of the box the setup was easy and performed great. Minimal bloatware now that MSI has switched to the new MSI Center (which is a windows store app) instead of the old buggy dragon center. For fun, I downloaded the latest preview ISO of Windows 11 and formatted the drive for a clean install. Most drivers pulled down via Windows update, and the rest I was able to install via the MSI Center app in the Windows Store. Easy peasy and performs great under Windows 11. Love it, would recommend!

As an animation student, this computer has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it in it's first week of usage. I have Maya, Clip Studio, Steam, Discord, Spotify, Minecraft, and Adobe software held on this computer with zero lag, dropping frames, or freezing windows! This has been a huge step-up from the last few computers I had been using over the years, and I would definitely recommend to any fellow creatives looking for a powerful computer. Definitely worth the price it's going for.
