Love my Z690 Motherboard the amount of IO ports that it has is amazing and the RBG looks nice as well.

Premium design and feel, plenty of IO, 5 m.2 slots and is made of an 8 layer board (expensive) which will help with over stability when overclocking and has a well made bios, also supports higher memory speeds than many other boards at this price. Ive stuck with MSI for a few generations now and this one continues to impress me. Great job MSI

Bought this for a VR PC build. It's fantastic! As a warning you will need to update the BIOS driver. I had to do this with a usb drive. At first I was worried that my RAM sticks were dead but instead the motherboard BIOS just needed to be updated. It's running great!

Got mine last week. Very happy with it. CARBON is an excellent DDR5 choice for Gen 12th i7 and i9 :))) Don't go for cheaper Motherboards if you are building a Beast PC.

The mobo is a great mid-range option for the Intel 12700k. Accepts DDR5 and the bios is easy to navigate.

Msi and Asus make great products. I trust whatever I get from them is quality. This specific mobo has a lot of USB ports which is great for me as a digital artist since I have my drawing tablet, would also be good for a streamer with a mic and cam. Has LED light indicators and bios flashback. I cannot comment on the everyday use case because my other pc parts haven’t arrived yet but the features and functions are good.

I got this a year ago and while at first it worked great, I soon ran into issues with usb ports not working, fans disconnecting for no decernable reason, and some issues when booting. Finally after a year I went to turn on my pc and I get an error message "over current has been detected on your usb device". I then started a week long process of thinking it was somehow my fault, where I went through every usb device, every drive, every fan, every singe thing installed, I even tried to update the bios, and nothing. I ended up calling in a friend who has more experience then me with building pcs and he couldn't get it to work. I ended up having to replace it. Personally I would not recommend it after all of that and would say to just get a different model from a different manufacturer. I'm seriously loosing faith in msi, as the laptop I had from them (that also was under a year old) completely died too. The only reason why this isn't a 1 star review is that it did technically work (not very well) for a year before dying.

Awesome motherboard! Everything works perfectly. This is the one to get!

There really is only 2 issues with this board and 1 is not a directly related. DDR5 is expensive! This, with GPU shortage, makes the total build very expensive. The other issue is Thunderbolt or lack of Thunderbolt 4. I wish I knew this before I purchased. At $399, one would think it would have Thunderbolt 4 integrated.

The build appears to be a well built and it was easy to install. The system runs like a champ -- when everything is running as designed. Great, awesome, cool. However, it has some annoying flaws. At random intervals, the entire USB bus crashes, and the cables for my keyboard and mouse has to be pulled and plugged back in. I have updated the drivers and it happens less often. Also, the optical audio on this board is a nightmare. The audio will just stop playing at times. I have to reboot the computer in order to hear ANY audio. This happens about once every 7-10 days. I have updated the drivers multiple times, and I have updated an MSI hotfix for it... The optical out is still buggy -- and this problem is somewhat widespread with other owners. I would recommend a sound card to get around the problem. Other than the problems I listed above, it seems to be a solid board that still has some firmware/driver kinks to be fixed.
