This was the Best Buy ever!!!! We have used this little baby for power outages, camping, long drives out of state, etc. It has 2 usb plugs, 2 ac plug ins and the option to only charge one side of those outlets or both at the same time. I will purchasing another one.

A full charge yielded 1 hr and 20 minutes of continuous laptop work, though it should be noted I had an external monitor (USB-C) that depends on the HP Spectre laptop for it's power source. Nonetheless, not the kind of power storage I was hoping for. In addition, it took a full 3 hours to recharge. So, 3 hrs recharge to 1.5 hours of use - not a great ratio.

Mega battery with real true wall plug!

At first glance, I thought that this was just an automotive power inverter (it isn't) or some kind of weird jumper system (also not it). When I looked closer, I saw that it was a large battery pack with an onboard power inverter for wall plugs and a USB-C port. Unfortunately, and this is my biggest gripe with all battery packs in general, not just this one; there was basically no useful information on the packaging to determine what the output ratings were. My use case; reserve power for a 15" 2017 MacBook Pro, charger for an iPhone, an iPad, and a Nintendo Switch, battery powered wall plug for special tools or other equipment. On the first, there are two ways to charge a 2016 or 2017 MacBook Pro from this. First is the onboard USB-C port, second is the inverter to wall power. From System Profiler, I was able to see that the USB-C port on the myCharge provides 15 watts of power; enough to trickle charge a MacBook Pro or decently charge a 12" MacBook. For some reason, the USB-C port being a 15 watt port is mentioned nowhere on the packaging or online. So, now you know, it's a 15 watt USB-C port. 15W over USB-C. This does not have USB-C power delivery. As for the wall plug, it powers the 87W Apple USB-C brick and the MacBook Pro recognizes it and shows 86 watts of available power. Good job! Does exactly what it says on the tin in that regard. If you need to charge your MacBook or MacBook Pro quickly, use the wall plug. The inversion will give you less power due to heat dissipation than trickle charging from the USB-C port, but it will also charge much, much faster. Full speed, in fact. That's the upside of having an onboard inverter. 15W is more than sufficient for charging a Nintendo Switch while playing it; I've gotten away with a 12W iPad block and still gained charge while playing Breath of the Wild; the Switch is impressively power efficient. Standard USB ports, standard iPhone and iPad charging, nothing to see here, move along. If it doesn't charge your phone or tablet then either your cable or you are the problem, not the charger. The design is great; super solid, nice black matte finish, wouldn't hesitate to take this onto a job site or camping. The charging block for the myCharge is hefty and proprietary, rather than USB-C like many other batteries, but that's the tradeoff for getting such huge capacity and decent charging speed. In short; an excellent product. I'm knocking the one star because honestly I wouldn't even be writing this review if the manufacturer had actually put useful labels and information on the packaging and I didn't have to conduct power rating testing myself.

I purchased this a little bit ago for school, since the classrooms don't have enough wall plugs in them to charge our laptops during class. I've been using this about a week. It works pretty well. I have a Dell Inspiron 17in 7000 laptop, and the battery pack will give it about two charges. However, the screen brightness must be on dim, and it can't be used very much while being charged in order to get the full two charges. Having the screen brightness on bright and using the laptop a good bit while charging, though, will give it a full charge once. Overall, it is a pretty good product for $200. Gives a good charge and isn't very heavy either. It's about the weight of an engineering textbook. Great for college/work use.

65W output (why is that not listed here?)

    Posted .

This device has a stated maximum 65W output, which is not listed on this web page anywhere -- but it's listed right on the side of the physical box: AC 110V 65W. One of the top comments ("Mega battery with true real wall plug!") mentioned this worked with their 87W USB-C brick from Apple, so I gave it a try. Sadly, it does *not* work with my 85W MagSafe brick (for a 2015 MacBook Pro Retina). Plug it in, and after a few seconds the onboard display reads "MAX POWER EXEEDED" and the AC power shuts off. Glad it shut off before damaging my device, but wish the website would have mentioned this is a 65W charger before I drove up to Best Buy to pick it up.

I travel alot and bought this to help keep my Surface charged. Does not work. Says charging but no power is being transferred. Returned and got a new one, same problem. Talked to someone at the store and was told it will not charge laptops or large tablets, despite that being what I was told when I first bought. Not worth it the money since it will not do as described.

Sorry to hear about the trouble! The 20,800mAh charger does charge small laptops and tablets so I am unsure of the miscommunication in store and apologize for the experience. MainA
