This product is well used at our house. We recently converted from carpet to hardwood and run the vacuum daily with the exception of Sunday. It is amazing how much dirt and pet hair it collects daily. The only two negatives would be it is a little noisy if we are home and the house is a little to big and the vacume has to go back to its station to recharge before completing the job. We named him Doug.

We were surprised how much this thing actually does. Don't get me wrong it wont replace your vacuum but it may reduce how often you use it. It is expensive and I consider it more of a gadget than a house cleaner.

Coming from using the Roomba, we wanted this as it seemed to be more "efficient" at doing its job at cleaning... I found that it was not as thorough as the Roomba, its "weight" is not "op-top" of the brushes, so does not "scrape" the floor as hard, and therefore does not "scrub" the carpets as hard/clean as the Roomba. It is slightly more intelligent than the Roomba in that it goes in more direct-lines in its task of cleaning, but is "stopped" but the edges a lot more (where it just stops, and asks you to clear its path) so is not efficient at cleaning completely UN-attended. It also does not get "into" all the corners in an UN-even path (where the Roomba goes around obstacles a lot, the Neato avoids the area more (so is not cleaning that area as well) Battery life is also not great. Even though it is more efficient in the "lines" that it takes, and cleans "faster" as its does not go over the same place repeatedly in different directions (like the Roomba does) ... the batter runs out after cleaning half our house, where the Roomba, with it's thoroughness and preparedness, still manages to clean the whole house on one charge.

I purchased this vac bot for my wife as a mothers day gift. I thought she would enjoy a helping hand around the house. I was right! My wife use to come home in the evening and either sweep or vacuum our living area every day. I set the bot to do its thing everyday about an hour before we arrive home. Now she actually comes home and can tell that the bot has done its job. Additionally, the bot now cleans under beds, coaches, tables, and just about everywhere it can fit. The proof is in the bin. Our house is very clean, but when was the last time you vacuumed under your bed? Now we vacuum under our bed everyday. I have a small dog, and they seem to get along fine. The dog just watches as it moves around the house. It does get caught up on some stuff. It got caught on the bathroom rug once, and it loves to get caught on the dog's toys that it finds about the house. I went to the store and compared all the models. This model has a larger bin, which I recommend. This bin is emptied once a week. Anything smaller would be totally inconvenient. It also has the best features of all the Neato or Roomba bots available. All in all, happy wife, happy life and the bot makes her happy. If you are looking for a vac bot, this one is the best.

Love it. Got my house cleaner than I thought possible. Only problem was vacuum getting stuck in areas I didn't think it would try. You do need to watch if you have areas it may get stuck. Other than that it wasn't a big deal to pull out and continue its course.

Great little vaccum does a decent job. After a month of working he seems to get lost occasionaly when returning to charging dock. Like the bigger dirt bin.

Works very well! I have it set to vacuum the house every day. It does get stuck occasionally, but you can purchase additional magnetic strips to keep it away from the areas that cause it trouble. It's simply amazing how much dirt this can pick up on "clean" carpets. Great purchase.

This is my first purchase of robotic vacuum. After reading reviews on several popular models, I decided to purchase this model. With a big golden retriever at home, dog hair has always been a problem for me. This vacuum picks up all the dog hairs at home and leave me a great clean home!

Has some issues around chairs, but that's to be expected. First floor of my house is all hardwoods and have had the product for 2 months now and it's done a great job. Have black lab that sheds a lot. Floor haven't looked this good in a long time.

It's like giving a vacuum cleaner to a teenager. It does a good job, but it won't move anything to do a real good job! But for a daily "get rid of dog hair" trip over hardwoods and carpet, it is awesome! It is amazing what it picks up, even under the bed and couch.

It works perfectly 75% of the time

    1. As a vacuum cleaner it is an excellent device. It picks up a significant amount of pet hair/dirt/dust. The suction is excellent and better than the Roomba units I have experience with. 2. While we never intended the unit to be our primary vacuum cleaner, it has taken that position. We vacuumed the main floor of our home before using the Neato for the first time, and have not had to pull out the larger vacuum since. 3. The Neato works perfectly 75% of the time for us. It turns on, works the room, and parks itself to charge. The other 25% of the time, it gets lost, gets stuck, or ingests a cable/wire. 4. You need to prep the space to allow the Neato to really do its job. Neato does not like cables. 5. Overall we really like the device and have recommended it to others.

We were able to get this vacuum on clearance. It has performed pretty well, though we were surprised at how hard this vacuum bumped into things. It is pretty quiet for robot vacuum, Much quieter than the prior generation.

Like all Neato products, you'll get a couple of years of good service out of them and then eventually they will fail. Yes the batteries only last a couple of years (depending on how hard you run it) and you'll have to replace the filters regularly, but its always something else that fails and then the robot looses it's mind and it's never the same again. Look elsewhere for your robotic vacuum needs.

I had a Roomba that I had to take it back after it failed to do multiple rooms without a bunch of lighthouses. this thing tracks the room like a champ and avoid obstacles without hitting every thing.cleaning the filter is a pain but it's worth it in the long run over the roomba

I have used this product everyday for almost three years. With the exception of one battery issue that was promptly handled by best buy under their extended warranty, the unit has been great. I honestly thought I would be returning the unit after a week or so because I had doubts it could clean my home. Instead, I gave away my hoover upright to goodwill.

This is the second Neato unit in my household, replacing an original XV-11. My spouse absolutely loves them. The BotVac is a noticeable upgrade from the first generation units, much quieter and larger dirt bin. I wouldn't call it a necessity, but my spouse might.

I was unsure of robot vacuums. But this product, neato botvac 80, is amazing! I am very pleased with the job this vacuum does. The cleaning job it performs is very good. And the way it navigates a room is mesmerizing. It's like it has eyes. The dust bin holds quite a bit. I am very satisfied.

I was torn between the Roomba 650 and the Neato Botvac 80. I eventually wen with the Botvac for 2 reasons: 1) The Botvan cleans a little closer to the edge of the wall. 2) I have seen a friend's Roomba knock into everything in his place (once knocking a vase off a table). The Neato does that a little bit, but it has yet to damage anything. It cleans very well and very quickly. I have it scheduled to vacuum twice a week while I'm at work. It just makes me feel better to come home to a clean place without having to do anything myself.

I have gone through MANY MANY Neato's. I had the XV21, well 4 of them, they all would work great for a couple weeks and then something would go wrong. Whether it was battery life going down to literally a couple minutes, or not being able to dock anymore. I then went to the signature pro (literally the same vacuum just black rather than grey/purple) Same thing. I then upgraded to the Botvac series. Again, these work well for a while, and then something goes wrong. I had a few of them just start getting "stuck" in the middle of an open room. I went through 12, yes 12 botvacs. I have completely given up on this. They work SO well for a short period of time, and then something happens. I tested out the botvac in our new house, when we had NO furniture whatsoever in it, it was just an open space with square rooms. It would get stuck. I found myself spending more time babysitting the botvac than if I just would have vacuumed myself the old fashioned way. The botvac is quiet, and does pick up a good amount of dirt and pet hair when it is working correctly.
