I have played every NFS. From the early series defining 90s exotic racers, the shift to street racing, MOST WANTED 2005, attempt at cannonball run with The Run, failure in sim racing with Shift 1 and 2, the forgettable Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit reboots, then the interesting yet forgettable NFS 2015 and Payback. The last two games were mighty disappointing, but they served their purpose. Heat is definitely a return to a decent handling model, cheesy storytelling that defined the series since NFS Undeground and perfected in Most Wanted 05, and a great setting. Only issue is longetivity of this game once you complete the main campaign as you can't jump into online lobbies to search worldwide for races. Instead you are placed in a hub (open world) where you can only invite or be invited by other racers to participate in a race. Absolutely awful system. GTSport and Forza Horizon 4 stay in rotation because of the physics and the online aspect. Heat doesn't have the driving physics to make tuning and driving cars rewarding on its own. Without the campaign to drive the momentum, the game does lose steam. But during that time, it is probably one of the best arcade racing experiences I have had in a while. Crew 2 was absolute trash and Forza Horizon 4 took a while to grow on me before I fell in love. Thing is I'm done with Heat after 20hrs, while I'm going 741hrs strong in FH4. Either way, a worthy successor to NFS greats.

Overall i really enjoyed the game, the car list is pretty expansive, and it feels like the older games. There is some grinding to get cars/parts as you level up, but that is natural. The cops can be tough at times but that is part of knowing your limits and when to push it.

Best racing game ever you will always want to play . So many ways to customize your rides and very realistic. Even the weight of the vehicle will affect how it behaves just like a real custom car. Can't say enough its definitely a must buy!

Sometimes shooting games get old and boredom kicks in, having multiple styles of games in your arsenal with help you stay entertained and enjoying you console. Graphics along with the music makes this game so enjoyable and unwind.

Cops are extremely annoying until you get further in the game and start unlocking more parts and better cars. The tuning and customization options are some of the best I've seen since Gran Turismo 2 days. Best NFS game I've played since NFS Underground.
