    Frame Rate Problems

This game had a ton of promise. Great car models, extremely deep modification and upgrade process and some unique areas to race in. But, is extremely hard to understand how to find what you're looking for due to a horrific menu system. On the career overmap, it's hard to tell what racing series are open and how to get back to where you want to be. Once you get past that, there's some fun to be had in Prostreet....the Speed Challenges later in the game are great fun...but this is also where you'll encounter frame rate hiccups and stuttering....which is a deal-breaker when you're traveling at nearly 200 mph. Not the worst driving game I've ever played....but not even close to the great NFS games like Most Wanted.

    Okay racing

Need For Speed Pro Street is a big change for EA; going from all out, open world, cop chasing racing to closed course sanctioned racing. I thought the career mode was so easy but it was very long and drawn out. I also hated the car customization. It was very confusing and misleading at times. There were some cool tracks though. I liked the Portland International Raceway and the Willow Springs Raceway which are cool tracks that usually aren't in games. The drag racing was pretty fun when you could do a burnout before the race to heat up the tires. The racing overall is not as spectacular as some of the previous Need For Speed games. I would recommend renting this game before you buy it.

    a bit dissappointing

When I bought this game I thought that it would be great. I soon realized that the fact that the only tracks you can play on are just that: tracks. Need for speed is supposed to be about street racing. why on earth would they suddenly switch to racing on a track. The way the street tracks were was great you could search the map for shortcuts and ways to drop obstacles in front of your opponents. Now there are no shortcuts and you have to pay for it when you damage your car. Ok so the racing is bad, but at least they kept the car designing awesome right. Wrong. The car design process actually worsened in this new game. there are not as many customizeable options, and the body style options are reduced. The story seemed like it was just pasted together with no real thought whatsoever. It did not really have much of a point and the characters in it were bad. Finally, I have two good things to say about this game. It's graphics were the best I have seen in a very long time they took some real time with those. Also the car database has accurate prices and ratings for once. However all in all EA took a huge step backwards with this almost horrible game. Take this advice and just go get need for speed carbon it is boatloads better than this awful game.

    Good Purchase

Overall a good game and I thoroughly enjoy playing it. Customization of the cars could be better, but there are plenty of cars to choose from... old school muscle, to new tuners, to the new GTR. The driving is realistic if you're using a steering wheel, but can be a bit awkward at first if you're using a controller (You can't handle the control stick rough like in the other NFS's, requires a bit more touch and skill). I recommend the steering wheel for this game as it adds to the realisim and you get feedback from the game when you have traction or if you start sliding. Vehicle handling is much better than in all of the previous versions and you're able to play with the controls more to customize your driving style. I do miss the free roam mode and the police chases from Most Wanted and was a bit surprised upon my intial play, but NFS was starting to do away with police chaces in Carbon. If you're looking for the street racing, go with NFS: MW or NFS: Carbon. This game has you racing actual tracks or closed courses.

Good and bad things to the game

This game is great in the sense that it is a very realistic street racing game. The turning for each car is different just like real life, theres alot of cars, and alot of customizing. But with the customizing you can't customize your ride in the main menu like you could in Carbon or Most Wanted the only cars you can customize are those in career mode that you bought. Other than that its a good game all around

Ok when i first played the demo i thought it was going to be cool but i slowly realized how similar the game is to forza motor sport. besides the story line there is nothing really extravagant about it, but if your a fan of the series why not. Personally Ill put it on the Christmas list but won't go out and buy it myself.

OK, here is the deal, this game is not street racing like we know it. It is based on the sport where every day people take there every day car to a track and race. If you look at the back of the box you will learn that. This game still has the awsome ways to do stuff to the car and you can have alot of fun racing. I use the racing wheel and it adds sooooooo much to this game. Its a wast of time for every one beacsue they wanted it to be more like undergraound and most wanted, but this is really diffrent and yeah it took a few races to get used to but it is alot of fun I would buy it even at 60 bucks

"This is lots of fun and a game that I recommend to most. I wouldn't recommend this to a new gamer. Almost everything about it is awesome. The one bad thing is getting used to using the menu and navigating through; it takes about 20 min. to get acquainted. As fun as this game is to play, it loses much when not played with a friend or on line with others. If you don’t have Xbox live you’re missing out, however, that can be tough as well because there is always someone who is better to take you down.

    good nfs game

good: car selection, customization, game play, controls bad: races were too easy, only cars that did anything useful were all wheel drive cars.. not enough exotic cars.. not enough choices for parts. my cars pretty much dominated every race... little bit too easy, only hard part is crashing actually damages your car and performance(but that's realistic so they should keep it that way) over all game needs free roam, and some more exotic cars, also a story line that actually makes sense.

They have made way to many of these games. But still there fun to play for a while. The best advise i would give is rent this game before you buy cause imo its not worth the 60 bucks

    Great game!!!

I bought this yesterday and played for about 4 or 5 hours. I had played the demo and from that would agree with all of the other posts of renting before buying it, but I had some extra gift cards that were about to expire so I went out on a limb and bought it. The driving has a very realistic feel to it, example, if you are full throttle in a front wheel drive car and make a turn then the tires will slip. If you like games like Forza Motorsports and how the cars have more of a simulation than arcade feel then this game is for you! My con I put was because I like how on the older Need for Speeds you just had options for the front bumper back bumper ect. However now it seems that they are continuing to shift to the "autosculpt" body kits and that is all that is available in this game. I feel that this game is worth the full $60 if you are in the market for a racing game. Also for some reason this website has it listed that it is only 1 player when it is acctually 2 players.

    WORST REGRET

My bro got me this for christmas and looked forward so much to playing it but i was disapointed. There is no free roam mode which was the only thing really that need for speed had and any1else didnt[as in granturismo pgr burnout]. The feel of driving the cars was like driving a 18 wheeler. There is no storyline to it so there isnt the excitment of beating the game like there was in carbon and most wanted. Its is too boring and doesnt have what it takes to make you crave the game like halo 3 or anything like that would. I am disapointed with nfs. they definitely need to go back to street racing.

One of the best racing games ive ever played

GREAT racing game. You can customize over 50 cars like never before and tune your vehicles so that they stand out from the pack. The race days are a lot of fun, different racing types (drag, drift, grip, speed) make this game diverse and fun to play. Online play sucks because everyone races with the fastest car, and it is really laggy and slow. There is also no free roam mode, so you can only do the race modes. Great game.

Good but disappointing in some ways

First off the cars are amazing and the paint and decal selection is incredible. Customization is great. (but no selection of tail lights) They did do a very good job on wanting you to play the game again. But come on the menu is the most confusing thing ive ever seen. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!! Overall: a fun game to play, but a disappointment to past need for speeds.

This game was a huge upset to me. If you've followed need for speed from the beginning, theres always been a story behind it. Not in pro street, you just start off in circuit races and thats all you do. There is no free roaming mode like all the past games were. All the cars steer like boats and all the specs are incorrect on the cars. This is by far the biggest upset I have had in a need for speed game.

Games gameplay really needs to be rebuilt, more simulationlike, not driving on ice with a broken steering system.

having only played the demo for this game, I will say that It was very very fun. I don't know if I will buy the game because there are many other titles I want to check out and money is tight right now so I will pass this up although it is a very fun game to play.

This is a amazing game that i would totally recomend to anybody. Almost everything about it is awsome. The only bad things about the game are getting used to using the menu, it takes about 20 min. then your good to go. The only other bad thing is picking colors to your car it is also a bit confusing but other than that i would say go out and buy it now!!!!!!!!!!!

    EA has gone down hill

This game is so unrealistic. The nfs games have only gone down hill since underground 2. Drifting may be back but it is still very easy and boring. The best car game i've played to date is forza motorsport 2 and drifting on their is difficult but fun.
