    Excellent smart display

Excellent small smart display from Google. It can be used as a destination for casting video from your phone, it can behave as a photo frame with your own photos or with Google streamed ones (which are beautiful). It will show you your daily schedule, your weather, and can become your alarm clock using it's built-in alarm sound or it can wake you up with music or stream a radio station. Basically it is a Google Home with a screen. You can use it to control smart devices like lights, security cameras, or Thermostats. You can used it for video calls BUT only you will see the other party since the Home Hub doesn't have a camera. Some folks may like the fact that it doesn't have a camera, some will not. Overall I like this device a lot.

Got this for my parents for Christmas. They have internet as part of their cable package, but never used it for anything other than updating their cable box. Grabbed this because they're not computer savvy and I figured it would be the least demanding entry level device for them. In short, they love it. My Dad Google's everything. He asks it to play Baby Shark to torture my Mother. I've shared photos to an album linked to my Mom's Gmail account and it displays them like a photo frame. Really useful for them as information source, music player, and overall entertainment. Kind of sad that we got a Google Mini instead of this for our own house, but that was a gift too. Speaker quality is better on the Home than the Mini.

I've found the Google-Nest Hub with Google Assistant to be a great addition to my basement office. It produces a rich and full sound that fills the room. A big step up from the Google Mini. The Google Assistant is quick and responsive to voice commands and easy to set up with the Google Home app. And the picture and video quality surpassed my expectations, with outstanding resolution and clarity. There is also a feature that adjusts the picture to adapt to the lighting in the room so as not to be too dark or too bright. And lastly, I was very happy with the price which was less than what I expected. A wonderful product at a reasonable price that is a great add to any room of the house.

When we decided to start our smart home system, we were debating what to use as a hub. That would determine which device we would buy. When reviewing the options, we found that each brand had it's own unique qualities. We ended up majoring in Google and minoring in Alexa. We decided on Google for our entire home with the Hub in our kitchen. The Hub has better sound quality and a high picture quality. We have never regretted our choice. I like choice of recipes and the ability to answer most questions and even a great spell checker. I happen to think that Google is smarter than my husband's Alexa. lol I would highly recommend Google and the Nest Hub.

I was impressed how nice this product works. I use it as an alarm clock. I like it that you can set several alarms because I need to slowly get ready, so I set like 3 alarms. Very handy if you can't find your phone in your house and you can just say 'hey google, ring my phone'. Another nice feature is that when you say 'goog morning' it tells you the weather and then continues with news from several different sources. You can predefine from what news sources you want to be informed of. It plays youtube videos which I use during my workouts. It can also make calls, so handy.

The google home hub is easy to set up and install, just plug in and follow the prompts. I already owned a few google home products and this is my favorite. I love starting my day by saying "hey google good morning" Then hear and see the weather, commute, calendar events, and latest news stories. I also own a lot of smart home lights, sensors, locks, etc. This product allows easy voice commands, touch screen commands, and visual indicators of these devices. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I need another one in my kitchen as I also enjoy cooking and this device is the ultimate cookbook offering recipes, videos, and instructions. Listening to music with video has also been a nice addition.

Needed to have voice command to manage the lights at home, video access while cooking recipes from YouTube and hands free access to great music. All this and more came with this device. I love it! It has great sounding speakers too. Initial hiccups happened when it stopped recognising my husbands voice but then got to know that google had an updation few weeks back due to which now google is very much dialect specific but that also got handled in a week once I guess it got adjusted to his voice. It’s a decent size screen not too big n too small for my purposes. Great purchase and yes recommended!

We needed a small screen with google assistant in the kitchen that doesnot have a camera and Google home hub was the answer. I can stream all that I want from any smart phone, can control our Hue lights, nest Thermostat, and google assistant can give you answer for limitless questions, it also has a great way of producing recipes for food with a step by step help and it does wait for you before moving to the following step. it also helps a lot by adding reminders for stuff we need to shop and the sound quality is more than acceptable for a kitchen screen. We bought it on black friday for $99 and it came with 6 months of free youtube premium. so it was basically free.

I absolutely love this display. I am glad that I didn't get the max. This is the perfect size for my bedside table, and it controls all of my smart devices flawlessly. It also has a pretty decent speaker. I listen to Spotify on it, and its pretty loud. I never have it on 100%. The only thing I wish I could do is access my Apple stuff like my Apple TV+ and Apple Music. It's not necessary but it would then have everything I could ever need. Don't bother wasting money for the Max, for me at least, it doesn't have even extra features to justify the upgrade cost.

I use this device in near my bed and it's great to use it as an all in one device. It works as a clock, music speaker, plays music and video, can make phone calls. It's actually pretty amazing on what the device can do if you don't mind working within the google ecosystem. I don't use the feature but it can also work as a hub to control other smart devices such as turning on the lights and controlling the room temperature. I did get this during black friday for a discounted price but I think I wouldn't have any issues paying full price after owning it.

Purchased the device for my mother for Christmas to use as a digital picture frame to see the grand kids and family. Works perfectly. We share a google photo album with the family and the kids add pictures all the time. They pics will just appear on her frame after they add them. If she wants to see the pictures in a larger format she just asks google to cast them to her TV and they will start showing there as well. (Tv has a google chromecast device attached to the tv). In addition it has google assistant built in so she can make phone calls, check her schedule, play music, get questions answered.

    Steal on Sale

I will start with saying I got this on sale for $50 - at $100 this review probably goes a little different. To start - at 7" this is the perfect nightstand screen for that late-night noise, alarm, or general room/house control. The speaker's aren't the loudest and the screen isn't the best however this isn't the premier product and at $50 nothing else on the market touches what this does all in one. I find this interconnects with my nest cameras and my Phillips hue lights significantly better than my iPhone or Homepod EVER did or have. I also have the Nest hub max - love that as well but let me make a big distinction. If you are buying this as a once-a-day or here and there screen this is amazing and works great - however, if you are like me and work at home the screen is far far too small to use all the time. My Hub max takes the cake with that and I would say that is the scenario where you bite the bullet and spend the extra money. Lets strip some features away - lets say you don't have hue lights or nest cameras. This is still a great bed side alarm and media player. It connects to spotify and can read out general news and reports in the morning if you set it up to do that (and it isn't that hard the home app is amazing). If you are here to compare the Google Home vs the Amazon Home eco system this is what I will say. I personally prefer the google home ecosystem better - I switched from the Apple home ecosystem because it didn't work that well for my lifestyle however I find that this interconnects with my home better than what I have seen the Amazon products. You have to buy into the Google ecosystem a bit to take advantage of the full features however that goes with all of them at this point. Final end of the line choice - at $50 you cant beat this product and what it does. It just doesn't get better than this price to performance and the V2 version also goes on sale for $50 as well.

I am glad i got the Hub. it has better picture quality than my laptop,., I didn't think I would like it as much as i do. I want a second Hub and am considering the Max (for the bigger screen) The speaker is surprisingly powerful for something so small. I didn't find info anywhere about the power source, but it has to be plugged in at all times. Not battery powered at all for those wondering. For funsies I changed the assistant's voice to a fancy British accent and i love it The box shipped to me a little beat up but luckily the item wasnt damaged.

This little helper has exceeded my every expectation for a household helper! This hub was simple to set up and start using right away. This product has sparked us to upgrade our house with "smart" products. Linking them to the Hub is super easy and convenient as well. It really made its value when assisting in the kitchen; it breaks down ingredients and instructions, displays them and even reads them to you one-at-a-time. The Hub also plays simple games, making it entertaining. I appreciate that there is no camera on this model, as i gives a sense of privacy, and I would find it useless for our house anyways. Love this little toy

Ok. Bought this because I have started cooking a lot and love the hands free help with recipes. Also, If I am chromecasting a show and go start dinner. Google will play it on the hub in the kitchen. A great feature is routines. When I go sleep google turns off my lights and tv. Turns on bedroom lamp. Tells me the weather for the next day and what I have going on. Then plays a nice classical music softly while I get ready for bed. In the morning I say good morning Google and she turns on all my lights, coffee maker, tells me the weather and what I have planned for the day and the latest news. Then more music. I love it!

this has been so helpful. not only do i have a clock, a screen with pertinent updates, a nice digital photo frame, and a voice-activated assistant, but i can play movies, control lights, listen to music, look up information, ... it pairs beautifully with the speakers i have and is a great central hub for me. it is small enough and big enough to watch movies and look at (and interact with, since its touch-screen) but not be overpowering; it doesnt take up any space it doesnt need to. i absolutely love it.

I love this little device, it makes setting routines easy. Waking up it sets my lights perfectly to get me up without burning my eyes to much, it plays a gentle alarm which can easily be managed on the screen, I’m able to listen/watch the news and figure out what to wear while it plays the weather, it even gives my estimated drive time to work! It slideshows my favorite picture which makes it an excellent little e-picture frame and is a perfect visual aid for a virtual assistant.
