It will start and then stop right away. Then you hit play and starts and stops right away. Sometimes unplugging it and plugging back in fixes it, other times you just have to let it be for a day or two. I though it was just on of them at first and eventually realized they all did it. It seems like it has been good for a while now... maybe it was fixed by firmware? How knows... all in all it is a good useful tool around the house. I recommend getting the Gen 2s when they are on sale for $50.

There are several reasons that affect the overall performance of your Nest Hub, and it’s important to make sure that this is not caused by a spotty or weak Wi-Fi signal. We suggest checking your Wi-Fi network for a strong and reliable connection. If you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network, removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion.

Don’t look for something very useful

You can see YouTube, photos, but if you have a tablet the specialization is residual.

Hard to connect to Nest Hello Video Doorbell

I've also used it for watching Netflix and playing Spotify playlists. I had to call Google support in order to connect to my Nest Hello Video Doorbell however because it wouldn't connect with the instructions provided. After a couple more failed attempts as instructed by the person I had on the line, she finally found a way to get it to work. Wasn't hard, and wish Google would have provided that set of instructions instead of the different sets that did not work.

Display is small so cannot be used as a kitchen display for when I need help with recipes or I need to look up something quick.
