I love this product. First, it was so easy to install and second, so easy to manage and program. I can leave the house and control my thermostat to save money, set up rules with IFTTT and build and update the schedule easily and remotely. The only thing is missing is support for geo-fence. I can't use the auto-detect because the thermostat is on a hallway that doesn't have too much activity so geo-fence is a better option for me. The good thing is that there is an app for iOS called skylark that does geo-fence for Nest and now the Honeywell.

I've been eyeing a Nest home thermostat for a few years. It went on sale during Black Friday for $50 off and I pulled the trigger. This thing is awesome. It really does learn your habits and temp preferences. It was VERY easy to install myself. There were plenty of detailed videos and instructions online. They even include a screwdriver for you to use. The app is a bonus feature as well. Very easy to use and very intuitive.

The installation was very easy. I did it in less than 30 minutes. Just make sure to take a picture of your old wiring so that you can mark and tag the wires correctly. It was also very easy to connect to my wireless router and the app allows good few me the ability to check what the temperature is inside. The auto away feature is great and I can also check the usage on the app. Being able to adjust the temperature before we get home has been great so that we done get home to a warmer home during the summer months.

Easy install. I thought it would be trickier. Great design. A bit on the pricey side but if it pays for itself over time it's worth it!

So far so good. It was able to set its schedule in a week. The auto away works great. we went from a non-programmable thermostat to this so it will probably make more of difference for me than some others. It is truly something you can install and forget about. I love the history that it gives you. It shows you when it ran the heat and when auto away caused energy savings or when you caused more energy usage than the average. Its nice to have a good look at what each day looks like. I highly recommend it!

I bought two of these. After very easy installations, I noticed that the downstairs thermostat had a horizontal white line going across it. I was in the middle of getting ready to move into the house, so I didn't do anything about it for a week or two... the thermostats still worked, but the white line was a little annoying. Once we moved in, I called Nest customer support. They emailed me so that I could send a picture of the problem, and he acknowledged the problem while I was still on the phone with him. He sent me a replacement within a week with a prepaid return label, so I could send it back by FedEx without having to spend any extra money. I did have to give a CC# just in case I didn't send the replacement back, but had no funny charges to it since then... about 2 months ago. The thermostats work very well. My favorite part is being able to check the temperature and setpoints without having to get up off the couch or even being at home. If we're away for a few days, we can get the house cooled off or warmed up before we get home. My wife had a little trouble figuring out how to manipulate the controls on the Nest itself when we were having WiFi issues, but I've fixed that. With the ability to manipulate different things around the house wirelessly, these devices are going to cost a little more up front, but looking at my electric bills over the past few months, I am very happy that they are much lower than we estimated... about 60%.

I reviewed several thermostats before going with the highly rated Nest thermostat. The T/S out of the box is beautiful and feels well designed. The install and set up was for the most part very simple. The only negative was the very limited direction book. This was easily circumvented by the Nest web site which was very informative and gives you the information the included book lacks. I've had the T/S running know for about 7 weeks and it works great. The App is just as easy to use. All in all a great T/S.

Of all the two-wire thermostats, the Nest is the best modern unit. The problem is that under load, like really cold weather, the unit runs down the battery and shuts off. No heat. I like the unit, it is really nice, it does a good job. It needs that third wire from the heating system. My 1960 boiler had the needed connection right in the control box, so I only needed to run an new wire. I ran an 18/5 set to be reasonable to the next guy to service it, but the connections were a breeze. With the three-wire system, the Nest is super reliable. Get that third wire run.

Easy to install and money saving, aesthetically pleasing and a joy to use remotely.

We bought this Nest thermostat after doing research. The 1st one was defective, just did not work but Best Buy was great to exchange it. Then we self-installed the new unit and it worked. The setup was easy to do as well. It's a great way to control your heating and cooling at home or remotely through your phone. The green leaf shows when you have an economical money saving setting, which is a great feature. We are very glad to have changed to this money-saving system. Highly recommended!

I purchased this because I recently bought a house. It came with an old thermostat that only had a single setting. So I went online to look at new thermostats and I found this one. It seem so innovative and helpful. So I went and bought it. It's so easy to use, you can program it and control it from any smart device. It has helped with the huge energy bill by cutting it in half.

The directions said easy to install and it didn't lie. It took me less than 30 minutes, even with 3 kids terrorizing the house as I installed it. Setup was a breeze and my wife and I love being able to adjust the temperature with our phones/tablet from anywhere. The monthly energy reports are very helpful with showing best ways to save money. This was well worth the money!

I have been wanting a Nest for some time. My parents have 2 in their house and highly recommended it. I finally purchased on and I love it! I love being connected to my house when away, I love the data it reports, and I love the energy savings it provides. Not to mention there is nothing better then changing the temperature without having to get out of bed! I was able to install the Nest myself without much effort. Make sure the wires are firmly seated! Great product!

This is just as advertised. Very easy to install. The wiring guide was perfect that the tech emailed me. The thermostat learns your schedule in a short period and control s the A/C much better than our old programmable one. Best thing is, you adjust it from your phone when you forget or want to change something. It runs my heat pump better than the factory one. Awesome

installation was easy, but make sure you turn the main power junction box off for A/C, heater related as you don't want to blow a fuse. installlation took less than 30 mins. and setting up took about another 30 mins. any questions i had, the products website was easy to look up and understand. being able to controll via mobile phone app is very useful.

Surprisingly simple installation,straightforward operation with innovative features in stylish design. So far very impressive. Compatibility app was very clever and helpful.

The latest incarnation of the Nest thermostat is amazing. No room for user error. Does everything it states and more. Even if you are not doing a smart home conversion or rent, this item is highly recommended. Takes minutes to install. The only reason for the 4 star review is that this product continues to wow and improve so expect many enhancements to come as even the nest knows there is always room for improvement.

This thermostat is amazing! It has made me more aware of my central heating and condition usage. It has saved me a considerable amount of money, too, considering nobody is at home during the day. The Nest thermostat detects when I'm gone and shuts off. In addition, the auto-away feature also ratted out a lying pet-sitter who said she was coming in over her lunch break. In that sense, it also works as a home monitoring device ;)

I manage several rentalhomes, and installed a total of 12 already. they really save money and are worth the expense, also very easy to adjust the settings, and even give the renters freedom to alter limited temperature changes. the preset settings make sure your a/c or heating is not running when not needed, the auto away mode works great, beware on your " away mode" setting to let it work in your advantage

This is the coolest thing ever--someone comments on it every time people come over. It's easy to manipulate, and it's great at saving energy. It's compatible with so many other devices, too! Plus, being able to change the temperature with your phone is amazingly handy.
