I was totally impressed how easy the Nest was to install, especially the WiFi network connection. They call it a learning thermostat; they should also call it a teaching thermostat. After having the Nest installed for a couple of weeks and studying the automated reports provided by actual usage we continue to discover ways to save money on our energy bills. I highly recommend this product.

The NEST is everything they claim and then some, not only does it perform very well, the unit is extremely easy to install, even tells you if you have wired it improperly. Additionally, just the feel of this unit in your hand is a tell tale sign of just how well it is built, this thing is a heavy duty instrument that is built using stainless steel with a thick glass lense. Highly Recommended.

I wanted to save some money on heating & cooling, and took the plunge for a Nest, mostly on the basis of online reviews. To be honest, I didn't expect all that much, but I find that it actually works. In addition to all of the things that you read about it, the most significant for me, is that it has made me aware of what mistakes I've made in the past with regard to how I heated & cooled my place, therefore making me "pay attention" to what I'm doing. While that might be true of any such programmable thermostat, I think that all of the extra features make the Nest a good investment, in spite of the high initial cost. I've had it for just over a month, and just received my first bill, which is $20 less than last year, and my power company tells me that I used 20% less gas than last year, for the same time frame. While I have no way to check what the weather was for the previous period, my bill saying I used 20% less is good enough for me (for now). Now all I have to do is figure out how the heck it knows when I've left the house. That one bafflers me, but I love it.

I like the learning function of this thermostat, and that it goes into auto-away mode when you're not home. Being able to adjust the temperature from my phone is handy, too so I don't have to get out of bed. :) Even though it's pricey, it's a nice thermostat, and for what it does, is worth the money.

Installation was simple. I sent a picture of wiring and Nest sent back the required wiring. I was done in under 30 minutes. I'm away from my home for the summer and monitor temperature and humidity through my iPad. When the humidity gets on the high side, I turn on the AC to remove some moisture.

I am so happy with the NEST thermostat, it took about 10mins to install. It was easy to hook up to my network, I can control it from work which is great. The app is awesome it shows how long my heating or AC unit ran per day, My bill went down $130 from December to January and the NEST was the only change. Love this product! I'm going to buy the smoke detectors next.

This was easy to install (didn't need to hire anyone and it took less than 30 min) and it has been even easier to use. You can quickly set the desired temperature and over time it will notice your activity and self adjust. There are other options on how to cool/heat the house but you can keep it basic if you want. It's also easy to control it from your iPhone.

I bought this to replace my existing thermostat, knowing full well I didn't really need it, but I'm still glad I did it. Setup was a piece of cake, couple wires, couple minutes, and it was up and running. Configuration was easy, and after a quick automatic software update, it was running. The nicest feature is that it figures out how much heat/cooling is left in your coils and spins the fan after shutting down the main AC unit. This is supposed to save money, and over the next 10 years, may pay for it, but mostly its a nice way to be a bit greener. It has a nice iphone app to tweak temperature when you're remote, and that works really well as well. All in all, it doesn't do much a typical programmable thermostat doesn't do, but it's still a cool upgrade to the house.

Only after a week of Nest ownership I have realized the benefits of owning such a technical logically advanced thermostat. Folks this thing is revolutionary and worth every penny. If you ever wondered how well your heat pump or AC runs, this is what you need. Not only being able to get the statistics of your HVAC usage but being able to manage your heat and AC remotely is awesome. I have already adjusted my temperatures based on the reports I have gotten from Nest. There is no doubt in my mind I will be able to save money on my energy costs. Most other programmable thermostats are kludgy to program. I wouldn't even put this thermostat in that same category. More or less this is a remotely web enabled device you can manage from your smart phone, Ipad or computer. I installed the nest in about 30 minutes. It comes with everything you need. I only had one small issue with my wireless router that had to deal with the way I had WPA2 configured. I found a solution to the problem on nest's online tech support that helped me solve the problem. Basically I had dual WPA/WPA2 configured on my wireless router. I had to set it to just WPA2 only, which is what it really should've been set to anyway.

Nest thermostat was very easy to install and connect to wi-fi. I was able to control the room temperature from the other side of the world, which is cool & scary. Of more practical use, I could reset the home temp as I leave work. There are very helpful usage reports which tell me what I save, and what temperatures I should set. Timer settings are a little complicated though. Still I love it!

When I got home with my new Nest Thermostat I was nervous to install it myself. It sat on my counter for 2 weeks as i tried to arrange to meet a professional to install it. I called an Electrician and they told me to go to an AC person. I called an AC person and they told me it would be a few weeks they were busy. Price Estimate given to install was $165 After this disappointing info, I decided to watch an online video about installing the Nest, and I was amazed at how easy it looked. I followed the directions and installed it myself. It took me about 30 min, but that is because I took my time... It was very easy! The hard part is making sure you answer the install questions right... My system apparently is one that has the E wire.... the emergency heat wire, that seems to be odd or uncommon based on the lack of information on what to do. My system did not work correctly at first... I called the Nest Support phone number (Based in Texas) and got help immediately. they stayed on the phone with me for about 30-45 min walking me through some diagnostic stuff and settings. By the time we were done everything was working well. I am impressed with the product and with their support team.

Everything you need to save on your utility bill. Will pay for its self every time you get your monthly bill. Tracks your usage, you can remotely control and adjust with the nest app and can add security and smoke and co2 alarms too. Some utility companies will also might reimburse you for installing the nest thermostat. Great product.

I absolutely love my Nest thermostat. It was really easy to install with the directions online customized for my install and works flawlessly. I really like the mobile app and the ability to control my heat and air from anywhere, either my sofa or another state.

Great product. The installation and setup instructions are straightforward. The device itself is very intuitive to program, even without the directions. Integration with my computer and iPhone were no problem. I have only had it about a month, and there are still things I'm learning, but it was up and fully functional in 10-15 minutes.

This is a great thermostat! I never thought I'd pay over $100 for a thermostat, but this one is well worth it. Best Buy had a special price which made me give the Nest a second look. Installation was easy. I'm sure the Nest will pay for itself in energy savings. I can monitor it wherever I am. I'm very impressed!

I am totally pleased with the Nest thermostat. The ability to check my temperature and humidity on my smart phone while I am away from my house is great. I turn up the heat when I am coming home and turn it down while I am away. I am saving money and lowering my energy use, and it is fun and easy to use.

I bought a nest. For my so. A few years ago. He loves it. So I bought one for myself. I was able. To easily install and program it ( I am over 60). I can manage. The temperature in my home. From anywhere on my smart phone. I absolutely love it!!

Schedules learn quickly and help keep our home where we like it. Easy to set up and very clean looking on the wall. Does wonders for being able to check in, turn on and off while away, and even change the schedule when no physically there. I'd recommend it to anyone diving into the smart home market.

Initially, I was a bit reluctant to fork out the $200+ cost for a thermostat, but it has been amazing. So amazing, I just bought the second Nest for our upstairs zone and am now synchronized on my iPhone and iPad with fully functional controls wherever I go. I am saving money already as I turn off the system based upon current temps and how long I am away. The installation was so simple my 12 year old did it with my supervision and it works perfectly. The operating system in the nest is easy to navigate and if you are not wanting to program the Nest, it will learn your habits in about a week and save you money everyday. I love this thing - and am no longer skeptical of the hype...

This is a great thermostat to be installed at home it learns schedules and very easy to manage from cell and browser it can help you saving energy if it is programmed correctly new generation is out already but not many differences.
