Wish I had purchased this a long time ago!

With the current situation and the need to work from home as well as the kids needing to home school, our Wi-Fi bandwidth skyrocketed. Our 6 year old Wi-Fi router just could not handle it. So we made the decision and purchased this. Great purchased. Works like a charm. Just follow instructions on the app on your phone!

We have the router on the main floor on side of the house and then the other "point" on the second floor in the middle of the house. I have never had any problems, but we haven't used our basement much yet, but I haven't noticed any problems when I'm down there.

Everything has been flawless. My kids also love the feature where you can ask Google to play music or find out what the weather is like. I admit, I like that feature too. I wish I had gotten the Google Nest much sooner.

I have a 2400 sq ft 2 story home with basement. I bought these after good reviews. Hooked them up and it slowed my connection to the point where I couldn’t stream anymore. No problem returning them. I’m intermediate when it comes to networking

Posted .Hi duece49, thanks for sharing your feedback with us, and it’s unfortunate to learn that your experience with using the Nest Wifi is less than ideal. We can imagine how disappointing it can be when you expected it to improve the wireless signal coverage throughout your house, and we’re sorry that it fell short of your expectations. We understand your decision to return it, but if you’re willing to consider using the Nest Wifi, It may be helpful to check the placement of your Wi-Fi router and point, which are vital to have reliable Wi-Fi throughout your home. As a general rule, points work best when they’re no more than two rooms away from each other. For example, if the far end of your house has weak Wi-Fi, don’t put a Wifi point in that exact spot. Instead, put it part way in that direction. Try to place it in an elevated position like on a shelf.
You can also try the following steps to see if the Wi-Fi performance will improve:
- Move the connected device closer to your Wifi router or point.
- Repositioning the points to avoid obstructions like walls, doors, and aquariums can improve performance.
- Make sure all unused devices are off and not draining bandwidth with large downloads.
- Check for possible sources of interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerators or other equipment.
- Run a mesh test to confirm placement of your Wifi points.
