The lock itself is decent quality and does the job. Out of the box installation was about 20 minutes and the instructions walk you through. The reason I give it 3 stars versus 5 is because of the issues I’ve had with the nest adapter dropping connection with the lock within 48 hours of the installation. I originally had the nest adapter about 4 feet from the lock and after removing the lock completely and resetting it, I started fresh again with a new install with the adapter relocated about 20 feet away in front of the door. I had issues with the app not recognizing the lock and then with the lock not communicating with the adapter. After about an hour of trying, I finally got it set up again. Aside from that, it works a smart lock should and seems to be working better now. I also think the lock is a little pricey.

Easier than expected to install, connect (to existing Next system) and use. Great features to monitor and control from the app and Google home (can't unlock though, which I suppose is for safety reasons), and great to assign kids with their own code so you can monitor when they come in and out. A bit expensive, but worth it.

We love all our Nest products. Easy to install. Easy to use. But expensive! Others I investigated though all Appear to have battery life issues. This is my second lock I’ve purchased, this one for the back door. I installed the front door lock two years ago and have yet to replace the batteries.

This is my third install of a Nest/Yale lock for a client and the truth is: if you aren’t using the Nest/Yale smart lock you are using an inferior lock. This is the best access control device I’ve ever upgraded my home with. Paired with the Nest Hello doorbell this is the absolutely standard for entry security for the retail space. The four AA batteries last about a year of daily use. Even if you were on vacation for a month when the battery began getting low you’d have time to get home. Even if it were to die you just hold a 9V battery up to the contacts on the bottom and it will power the lock. You CANNOT open this lock by voice. This is a security feature. You CAN lock it by voice. The Nest / Yale final level of security is the best. It is NOT attached to your WiFi. It is encrypted and attached to a Nest Connect which talks to the WiFi. So even were you to have your WiFi compromised the attacker would still need to crack the nest encryption and jump from WiFi to connect Bluetooth to reach the door lock. Security and Intelligence combined.

The Yale lock was easy to set up and use. Instructions were good fit well. Has a nice look with the bronze on the sides and the lights for the password light up well. Setup with wifi and putting on the app was easy. Would recommend due to design, quality and ease of use.

Love this lock! Pretty easy to install. Works great with nest home app and compatible with google home. Many options and easy to customize settings. The ONLY changes I would like is Bluetooth compatibility to automatically unlock when I'm in range and for Google to allow unlock by voice command. Neither are currently available

The lock itself works great when at the door. Makes life so much easier than carrying a key around. So...I'm pretty good with computers, etc. This should have been so much easier to set up! Have a Nest thermostat so figured it would be easy to add. It had a tough time communicating with the Nest Connect and I had to reset numerous times. Had the Connect less than 5 feet from the door. Would always show connected but lock wouldn't communicate through it. Not sure how... but after about 5 tries, it started working. Now... the problem is if power goes out or need to reset router, the lock continues to work at the door but not through the app. Have to reset the lock...(oh my) which means taking the batteries out to get to the reset button. Can't believe how poorly they designed this! Not sure why it won't reconnect once router resets but.. it doesn't. Guess I will pray power doesn't go out.

Great product! We purchased this lock to use at our Airbnb so we can easily change door codes for each guest + have the ability to manually lock/unlock through a phone app in case of guest emergencies. We've been using the lock for over a month now, and our guests have had no complications. Installing the lock was easy and didn't take long, and there were clear instructions on how to connect the lock to our Google Nest and phones. Highly recommend this product!

I did a lot of research before deciding on the Yale Nest lock and I believe I made the right choice. I did not give it 5 stars for two reasons. Tech help leaves a lot to be desired as the customer reps are not knowledgeable, a common problem when dealing with overseas reps. I reported a damaged cover in December, got a confirmation of a new cover being on its way and never received the replacement, I just complained again, no apology, just an email saying that I should get a new cover within a week. My other complaint is that it proved very difficult to connect the lock control to my WiFi as it was not receiving the signal, finally it occurred to me to put an extension cord close to the door and plug the control in the extension cord and that solved the problem. Later I had an electrician put an outlet close to the door as a permanent solution. The instructions claim the unit can receive WiFi signals up to 40 ft but that’s not the case, it only receives the signal when it’s less then 10 ft away. Outside of these two problems the unit works flawlessly, one of the best features it has besides WiFi is that when you have people visiting you can assign them a passcode in lieu of having them download the app and this code can be set up with a starting and ending date.

This lock not only looks great but works even better. It runs off of WiFi and also has 4 double A batteries. It has geofencing and auto lock features which are super convenient when your in a hurry. The only drawback currently is it doesn’t work with voice commands however hopefully it will in the future.

I just bought a new condo and had to change the locks. Why not buy a smart lock I thought? Now I know who comes in, when, and can keep people out when I want even if they have a code. Any you never have to worry about forgetting to lock the door because it will automatically lock after a certain time.

Very easy to install. I have all Google smart home ecosystem so it just made sense to get this one but it does seem a little expensive. I like all the options in the app and on the pad itself. Everything is fast and very responsive.

If you already have nest and google home products it is a breeze to setup and install. took about 30 minutes to install and setup. You can lock the door with your voice and check your door's lock status. Keep in mind you cannot unlock the door with your voice. You can have multiple codes and see who is coming and going.

Very easy to install, great instructions if you're not particularly handy. Took about 30 minutes, 10 to remove old (janky) deadbolt, 10 to install this one, and 10 to do app/firmware/get comms and go through initial keypad programming. I've used my front door instead of my garage more in the last month than in the last 7 years combined. It is a little expensive but I do like the Nest integration so it is in one app with my various other Nest ecosystem modules.

We purchased two of these Nest x Yale Smart Locks for our new home after we experienced a break-in. We LOVE being able to get push notifications every time the door is opened, with an alert of which person is opening the door (based on the code that was input). I love being able to see the daily log of entrances and exits -- it's been a godsend for our home renovation project, as we can allow contractors to enter without being home, and add/remove access immediately via the app. We delete contractors' codes after they no longer need access, and set working hours for each of their codes (i.e. between 8am and 6pm). Love the sense of security that we get from these. I love this product so much that I recommended this lock to my parents, who installed one at their house. A little pricey, but worth it for the security you get.

Works very well until the Nedt Connect device starts malfunctioning. Which then requires the connect to be fully reset, otherwise, to add new codes, the batteries of the lock need to be removed and reinstalled to reboot the lock and allow it to register the new code.

Setup was extremely easy. The app is easy to use and the nest ecosystem is great! Comes with the nest connect and connects great to a 2.4GHz network. Keypad is bright and responsive. Unlocking with geolocation and app work great as well.

Looking to keep up on adding to your Nest items or even just to replace those missing keys all the time. This is a great lock. Takes minutes to install easily and then set up. Only downside experienced, and this is nothing to do with the lock itself, is ensuring you’ve got good signal to the Nest Connect device included to send WiFi signal to door to link to app. Took a few movements to find a good connection and plug that was close and received a strong signal. Pleased with the results thus far. Able to program codes easily for family/friends and use a privacy mode to keep unexpected coded guests out when not needed. Ease of access is as simple as a push of the button on the app. Lots of features. Worth taking a look if you’re considering a coded lock with no key access.

Love the fact that you don't need keys or remember to lock your door anymore. It auto locks and integrate well with nest app. If you have a nest hello this would be a great companion to it. Very easy to install and setup. Only took 10mins top.
