Stop Renting and save some $$

Saved from rental fee

Was going to get one unit that had it all, but was recommended by the associates (Sorry, was long ago, forgot names) to get separate modem and router. Glad I listened to them. My connection and speed are better than I had with the old stuff. Saving a lot of money and was super easy to get it hooked up. Just called Comcast and they had no problem at all. Highly recommend.

Works with external firewall

The Surfboard had problems with the DHCP request from my commercial firewall (Cisco ASA or Aruba mobility controller), such that the ISP's DHCP server didn't receive it and the firewall was unable to obtain a public IP address, rendering the ISP network unreachable. This cable modem resolved the issue straightaway, and works very well.
