I bought a this modem about a month ago along with Google Wifi, it's worked amazingly so far. My internet speed has quadrupled and I have not had to reset my modem one time, i would have to do it every week or so with Comcast's Modem/Router.

Please check with your service provider before purchasing this modem. I was told by the Best Buy associate that "Because it works with Comcast it would work with Optimum." The internet worked at 75/100 MBps, and the phone line, which is why I picked this particular modem, did not work at all. I spent about two weeks back and forth with Optimum and Netgear trying to update the firmware. Neither wanted to take responsibility. Finally I just returned it, and ordered an Arris TM822 from the Best Buy website. Best Buy needs to stock the modems that are compatible with the local ISPs. Optimum denies any compatibility with "Comcast Certified" devices despite what anyone in-store will tell you.

Setup was easy, it did take a call to Comcast but even that was fast. Modem/router speeds are good, using the unit with a lower tier plan (100Mbps) and phone. Management of the unit is easy as well, especially using the netgeat genie app.

Replaced an Xfinity modem with this Netgear modem. Saved $15 per month rental, with a payback of only 7 months. Performance is on par with the xfi.

This is a good basic cable modem. It has all of the features that I needed i.e a phone jack, an ethernet port etc. It was easy to set up and the speed is good. The major drawback is that it does not have a battery backup

Solid Modem for Comcast Internet + Voice

I purchased this cable modem to replace the modem provided to me by Comcast. I grew tired of the "replace your router" solution every time I called technical support. It also bugged me that every time I replaced the modem, it was a different manufacturer and usually a model that was no longer supported.
This modem was a snap to configure, literally taking a few minutes from out of box to registered and connected to the Internet. I didn't even have to call Comcast.
I've used the modem for months without issue, with both improved performance and reliability compared to the Comcast modems I used previously.

Only had a it month and no issues yet so it’s getting 4 stars. Moved away from my comcast router/modem and added the google nest. Have a 2100 sq foot ranch and my office is in the basement. Prior to the move I was averaging roughly 12-20 mbps/day now I’m at 75-90 mbps/day. My office is on the other side of the house where the modem and router are. It has made a huge difference and I haven’t had to call Comcast (which was doing monthly) to complain for the first time since Covid. I would recommend adding a mesh point connection to it depending the size of your home.

The installation was simple. I connected the modem to my cable line coming from the cable company. I had to connect a splitter to the in coming cable line in order to feed my cable box and the modem. I called the cable company to register and activate the modem. Once that was done, I had internet. I entered the wifi password to my phone and I was in business. The Wi-Fi range and speed is pretty good. Better than it was before.
