Right device for the job...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently had U-Verse put into my apartment, and they were kind enough to install an Ethernet jack in each of my rooms (bedroom and office). The only thing was I had multiple devices that required an Ethernet connection in the office. This little bugger gave me just what I needed, a easy way of connecting all my devices up from a single jack.

Works flawlessly!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a small switch to use to create a test domain for some software testing. This switch works great. I create my DC, added my client pcs and it has worked great. Being 8-port at this price was a great deal. Other places wanted just as much for 5 ports.

It's a fire and forget device. Simple.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great little switch for small iSCSI storage area network. It's a no brainer to setup and use plus it's fairly fast. It does everything I've asked it to do.

NETGEAR - 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch - White
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great switch. I've purchased many, many Netgear switches for small businesses and homes over the years. Bought this switch to replace and 8 port and a 4 port...cleaner installation and wiring. Have never had a failure. I find the negative reviews here to be curious -- wonder if they're using cheap patch cables -- I don't scrimp when it comes to cables. Or plastic switch models. I only buy metal. These switches simply work. Period. And the LED displays tell you clearly the connection speed per port. Highly recommended.

Works as it should!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am trying to automate my home as much as possible. Of course doing that you run out of Ethernet ports on your modem. This product does a great job and I haven't noticed a slowdown of the Internet with the pass through. I recommend this product.

Simple to use, reliable and easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device after installing home security devices that required a direct connection to my wireless router. My router only has 4 ports and I quickly discovered I needed more. Easy install, just plug and play. I was worried that there would be port forwarding issues or who knows what else. No problems whatsoever. Just plug from router to this switch, reset network devices to allow the devices to recognize one another and you are set. Easiest networking thing I've done so far. Highly recommended and easy to install.

Netgear switch makes add-ons easy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wi-Fi is not so good in my house so when my ISP had a sale, I had them add Ethernet ports to some of the phone outlets (the house has CAT 5 wiring). With the 8 port Netgear switch, I am able to have wired Internet connections for the main Ethernet in and out to TV, Apple TV, Blu-ray player, Sonos Playbar, and an old computer to run a doggie cam - making for fast and reliable Internet connections. Netgear is easy to connect and good tech support is available by phone if you need it - just register your switch with them online.

Perfect to wire your network
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A friendly employee recommended this along with an Eero mesh router, and it perfectly hooks up my wired Ethernet devices to said router. No setup required. I just plugged an Ethernet cable into the first slot coming from the router, and then plugged all my devices into the other 7 ports. It knew what to do and that was that! Speeds are super fast and never had a problem. Even mounted this to my wall!

Great Workgroup Switch!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Netgear user for almost two decades now. This switch works like it's supposed to. I connected three iMacs, two Windows 7 PCs, a printer and a router to it. File transfer speeds are excellent. No problems at all. Great product!

Needed More Hardwire Ports
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Almost everything in my home wants to connect wirelessly, I prefer hardwire for streaming. Was using an older 4-port switch; decided I needed a newer one for the speed. This was a great buy and I've had absolutely no problems and have since hooked mostly everything up to the 8 ports for better quality and it does a great job making sure that all of the computers, TiVos, and smart TVs have all the conductivity they need.

Great value
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent time waiting for the 308 model to be available, because it was constantly out of stock. I decided to buy three of these instead because they are newer and available. I was not let down. I get faster speed downstream of this switch than I do from my other giga-switches. It’s a true plug and play. If you have any issues getting set up, it’s usually a problem with your router rather than this switch.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was very easy to setup and use. I took it out of the box, plugged it in and connected to my wireless router and then connected to 2 workstations and a printer via lan cables. All worked fine with no additional setup needed.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used this to replace an aging 10/100 switch in a small office environment and was extremely impressed! Great unmanaged switch. Does the job.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased to add ethernet ports to Google WiFi mesh router. Wanted an unmanaged switch to avoid port conflicts. Have had many Netgear products and they have always been reliable and easy to use. This product was no exception. Does what it is supposed to do and with no issues this far. Ran ethernet line to my Sony TV with android for streaming apps on the TV. Works great and get reliable 4K quality while streaming. Recommend this product.

Pure Plug and Play
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a personal preference for WIRED internet, since I do significant on-line gaming and there are several wireless devices in the house competing for bandwidth. With the addition of a couple new internet ready components, I had exceeded the capability of my 5-port NETGEAR Switch, which has performed FLAWLESSLY for several years. I plugged all my devices into the NEW NETGEAR 8-Port unit, did nothing else and everything has worked without attention for several weeks.
