When on vacation, I knew every time lightening flashed, or thunder struck. I discovered our neighbors use our driveway to turn around. I now know there's a rat living under my back porch. I love checking the cameras to see all the things I left on the kitchen counter, which I meant to bring with me that day. (Saves time searching the car) And of course, spying on my cat all day, and occasionally trolling her with the microphone, when I should be working...
I've really loved having this system in my home! Cons would be: Doesn't like all phones... My husband's phone is WAY nicer than mine, but only I could set up the system and add devices. Couldn't find ANY support for the issue. Just thankful mine worked.
Your spouse can troll you, just like you troll your cat.
The microphone/speaker option doesn't always work very well. It may be my lousy phone, or signal dependant though, but I can only talk verbally to my house occasionally.
Distance from router/signal strength matters, but haven't had any major problems.
You may discover your house is haunted.
One camera attracted a moth one night, and notified me every couple of minutes, whenever it got divebombed.
Possible decreased activity at work.
Pricetag, but worth it.
This is a monitoring system, not a full security system. If you lose power/internet, then it's off. Just something to keep in mind.

This Arlo 6 camera system was easy to set up and easy to use. IPhone app is great, good video and great for monitoring. First a Vuezone user and then converted to Arlo about a year ago. No regrets.

It was very easy to install but I had to reset some of the battery powered units several times. It would be better if the battery powered units could connect through your existing WIFI like the plug in units can. This way you wouldn't have to buy additional base units if the signal isn't strong enough. It also is recommended to turn down the sensitivity to the battery powered units to prolong the battery life as the batteries are expensive to replace.

Easy installation. Sharp clear pictures. We ordered extra magnetic bases so we can move the cameras to other parts of the house if needed. The magnets are VERY strong. Happy with the purchase :)

This cámara system has a good imaging and the hearing it's good too but the wi-fi cameras aren't good bcs the batteries runs out too quick. I bought the system last month on the 8th and today it's the 3rd , it's not even a month yet since I bought it and I have change the batteries twice. When I speak to the Best Buy representatives, the two persons that help me assure me that the batteries will last about two to three months. I'm mad because it's not like that. I paid almost $1,000 dollars for a system that's gonna drain me buying batteries to keep my house safe. I'm talking about the Arlo netgear 6-camaras outdoor and indoor wireless surveillance system. If you gonna buy this system don't buy the wireless bcs you be buying batteries every two weeks. Buy the regular the one that need to be plug and you will be good. Like I said in the beginning the system has a real good image and voice system but the wireless will drain you!!!!

Love our Arlo! We had help setting it up, but once it was working, has been easy to use. Audio and video are quite clear and easily accessible via your smartphone.

Ok if place outdoor but if you have a indoor one placed on window facing outside it won't pick up on motion also at night you can't see outside it reflects off the glass. Also I think the gel covers should come with kit instead of them being an extra purchase. They are a must in the south Texas weather. Make sure you have good wifi coverage and internet speed.

If you have a problematic house to hardwire for wired cameras like I do, then this is the solution for you. However you need to have strong signals throughout the house specially where you are going to place the cameras. This is the best wireless system available on the market Today.

The Arlo system was and has been amazing! Quick easy to follow set-up. Cameras were all plug and play or simply just mount them. Linking them to you phone, computer, or tablet is seamless and incredibly user friendly just as it is to constructively use the app to monitor your home or business! Highly recommend this product hands down over its competitors!

I can keep an eye on my loved ones all the time and being away from home most of the time, I feel they are safer and when I miss them I just go to the cameras and watch them there and talk to them too.

After a number of car break-ins in the neighborhood my wife and I decided it would be a good time to get a security camera system for our house. I wanted something that was wireless and monitor-able from outside of the house through both the web and from our phones. The Netgear Arlo system fit the bill. Setup was very easy...pop in the batteries, pair the cameras with the base station, plan out where you want the cameras, and mount them up.
The magnetic mounts are interesting, but I would not recommend using them if the camera is within arm's reach from the ground. The possibility of someone walking off with them lead me to purchasing some generic camera mounts that, at least, require the camera to be screwed down to the mount.
The internal cameras are nice and capture sound while the external ones only capture video. you can even use the internal cameras as an intercom system. The internal cameras need to be plugged in, so having a wire showing (especially when the camera is mounted high) is not the best, visually.
It took about a week of tweaking of the settings to come up with a good schedule and alarm/recording settings. The android app and website used to support the system get updates and bug fixes frequently so I can only believe that things will become easier to manage over time.
I was also worried about battery life, but after a little over a month, there is still about 2/3 battery life left in them. Not too bad especially since it took that first week to come up with settings so that the cameras were not detecting motion all the time.
Being that the system is accessible from the web and mobile apps, I was a little worried about security and unauthorized access to the video stream. I have faith in Netgear, however, that they are staying on top of securing access . If I get wind of any news regarding hacking of the Arlo systems, I'll come back and update my review. Hopefully I won't have to :)

Overall it's a good camera system. I had a hard time setting up the wired camera's but after hiting the reset button on the back it worked well. When the power or internet goes out it is slow to reconnect but the picture quality is great and the wireless cameras are very easy find a perfect home for.

These cameras are simply the best wireless home security cameras I have come across. The app is simple and easy to use. My only complaint is that the batteries do no last very long. Maybe rechargeable batteries could be a solution, but the shape of the batteries is AA, but shorter than standard ones.

I bought this home video monitoring system after a traumatic event, and needed something to ensure the safety of my belongings and my family. I have to say that this system was extremely easy to set up, install, and monitor. The batteries last a good long while, and the sensitivity is almost perfect. The front cameras do pick up fewer vehicles stopping in front of my house than I would like, but it is "close enough". All in all, great system.

Really like this system was easy to setup and the app and cloud service was great. The only reason that was the deal breaker were the non rechargeable batteries, and that each camera used four. Battery life was so so, but in the long run would be to costly to operate.
