For the most part this is a good system, but it has it's flaws. I don't like the camera limit. Also, the cameras will eat up batteries if you don't adjust the motion. This system should be used in conjunction with a hardline camera system. Great system though.

The Arlo system is fairly easy to set up. The Arlo q are nice because of the audio. The option of not having to subscribe to a service is nice. The wireless are cool because you can through them up on anything metal and keep an eye on it.

Highly recommended, easy set up and no need for a monthly subscription because the included cloud monitoring is more than enough for most residential needs. The battery life is exactly as specified and batteries are relatively inexpensive on third party sites like eBay and amazon. The exterior cameras have survived three crazy storms and still function as good as new.

Great wireless security system without having to spend a lot of money or spending a lot of time setting it up. Very easy set up. Only downside is that there is a delay in recording.

We had read some great reviews and had friends purchase Arlo so we thought it would satisfy our need for cameras indoor/outdoor. I returned this item when we realized the 2 larger cameras needed to be plugged in and opted to get the 4 camera pack instead. I don't recall seeing anything on the box saying 2 cameras needed to be plugged in.

This product has SO much potential, but is just not quite ready for prime time yet. I wish BB didn't have this miserable new 15 day return policy, or I'd likely return them...
The Pros:
SUPER easy setup
Decent wireless range
The cons:
INSANELY slow cameras
Buggy and sluggish app
Terrible motion sensing
In more detail:
The system was super quick to set up, connect, and mount. The freedom of not needing power to the cameras was really the big selling point in my book, and the ease of set up did not disappoint. The two way communication on the Qs is also really cool (I use it to keep tabs on my dog with major separation anxiety).
However.... the cameras are SO slow and have such terrible lag. Most of the times I can't tell what triggers a notification, since by the time I get the notification and/or the recording feature is triggered whatever has triggered it is gone. Additionally, to access the cameras through the app is SO slow. Enabling and disabling triggers can take 15-20 minutes or more. More than half the time I have to kill the app and clear cache and data in order to finally be able to access settings.
And finally, as for the motion sensing... the set up instructions will tell you that it "works best" if the cameras are set up so that any motion goes across rather than towards the cameras - but it doesn't explain that it doesn't really work AT ALL unless it's a clear left to right motion. I've had people come up to my porch, open the door, and stand there having a 10 minute conversation with me without the camera ever getting triggered.

After having bought serveral CCTVs I ended up purchasing the Arlo CCTVs. In comparision to other products this is really easy to install and provides a very good App. Product quality is very good. The only topic Netgear could improve is the delay in starting to tape movements. There are a few seconds of delay before the camera starts taping.

I purchased the Arlo Pro system and while it was on the top end of what I wanted to spend, I feel the investment is worth it. The quality of the cameras it quite good and has decent night vision.

Super easy to setup and configure. Having the text option going to alert on motion is very nice. I'd recommend not having the email option going as it'll eat up your mailbox. Once the sensitivity is setup they work like a champ. I may add another camera soon.

Horrible Battery Life

Not worth the money paid. Battery lasts for 2.5 weeks at normal use and the amount you'll spend on batteries will make this a very expensive camera. Best Buy sells 2 of these batteries for $15. The picture quality is decent but with delay. Best Buy employee told me that batteries last for 4-6 months which was a lie. Highly disappointed in the store and the not knowledgeable employees, and wasn't able to return for a full refund, only store credit. I spoke to Netgear, and was informed that if you use the camera about 5 min per day than batteries will last 4-6 months. Who needs them for 5 min per day. Would not recommend this product to anyone.

I got this system to keep an eye out for the kids who were vandalizing my house. The set up is easy and the picture quality is excellent. Just be sure to set aside enough time to do the work.

Cameras pick up all movement, even small bugs attracted to the light which can sometimes be irritating. Get a notice by both phone text and email. Sound pick up doesn't work all that well

Made the switch from another competitors model of wireless cameras and and very impressed. Easy connectivity, awesome included basic recording and database plan. Only con is I wish they all recorded 24/7, but ok with sacrificing to have wireless connectivity and ability to expand system in the future.

This is a great alternative to the home security systems. Easy to setup and get working. I get an e-mail or alert every time someone triggers the cameras. I like that I do not have to pay a monthly fee. Works very well.

The cameras battery drained slow for the one I had in the front yard. Also I wish it allowed continuous recording. The new arlo2 has a rechargeable battery and it has sound so that is a big upgrade, but the volume on 2-way talk is very very low. But for the areas that have no outlets this is my only option. But if you don't arm it it's not working. So continuous recording would help. I have nest cameras that allow for continuous recording. This would be the feature arlo needs.

While on vacation the camera system gave me great piece of mind. My wife order a wedding gift while on vacation. The gift was not to be delivered until the following week when we would be home. Of course the gift was delivered the day after she ordered it. I was alerted when the UPS delivery man placed it on the front porch. I was able to have a friend get the gift off the porch immediately and secure it for five days until we returned home. With out the camera system the gift may or may not have been there when we got home.

This system is awesome!! The ease of set-up and endless options were surprising. The cameras provide great pictures and the app allows us to monitor the house and ensure the safety of the family. Also fun to see which dog is jumping on the counter to steal food! :-)
