The actual installation is simple, but had multiple issues with connection. The WiFi drops at random times and needs to be reset. I tried contacting the company but they simply focus on the internet company. I would not buy this again.

Took this home to hook up and get my wireless working again. Was unable to set up via the website they gave so called the 800 number to get assistance. Spent 15-20 minutes with their recording and got absolutely nowhere, every time I was told transferring to a person the initial greeting started over. Was unable to get any help. Taking back to store today to purchase a different brand.

Too slow I was seeking the convenience of a router /Modem combo But didn’t anticipate this slow loading and buffering...w only two electronics. I have high-speed Internet and this did not accommodate it! Back to the store

I bought this for a 2 story home. Needless to say, the range does not work well in a 3,000 sq ft home. I'm sure in a smaller home it would work perfectly. I asked before I bought it about range and was assured it would work fine.

Great features | small footprint | easy to use

Setup was super simple and was easy to replace Comcast's leased modem. Plugged in the coax cable and power, and off we went. From a Macbook, we connected to the wireless network using the default wireless information provided on the bottom of the C6250 and opened up Safari. The Comcast online activation page came up where we punched in account information. All in all, activation took only 5 minutes or so, including a reboot of the Netgear by Comcast after downloading the necessary configuration. The features were everything you would expect of Netgear's latest lineup of networking gear in a small package. Two gigabit ports, a USB port (for sharing a hard drive or printer), 2.4GHz and 5Ghz networks, additional virtual/guest networks, and parental controls. I suggest downloading the Netgear Genie app for your phone/tablet, as it helps manage your network (ie turning on/off your guest network). I applaud Netgear for the effort put into designing these latest Nighthawk consumer devices. I normally prefer the cable modem and router be separate devices, but was impressed by what the C6250 brought to the table. Speed wasn't an issue on the internet side, nor the local LAN side. The range of the wireless was sufficient for a one-story ~2000 sqft house, but larger houses may have dead spots as there are no external antennas. Multiple device connections including a Roku, Macbook, and iPhone weren't an issue and didn't negatively affect performance. I didn't know exactly what to expect with a router modem combo, but was impressed by the performance in a small form factor. I think this is perfect for an apartment or smaller house, and/or if you're shooting for a minimalist look. The price isn't bad either when you consider adding up the price of DOCSIS 3 cable modems and similar-featured routers. I do recommend this to friends that have lower profile technology and want a smaller device footprint. It's easy to manage and the documentation provided in the interface and manual are excellent. I received the Netgear C6250 for free as part of the Netgear First Look Review Program by providing my unbiased opinion.

Extremely poor manufacturer control caused my router to be useless. After two hours on the phone with my internet provider, it turns out the router was mysteriously already registered to someone in another state and wouldn't work with my account. Completely annoying and a two hour waste of time, plus the return was greeted by Best Buy employee as "oh, we see this happen quite a bit"....time to let Netgear know their quality control is not up to par. They explained that sometimes the same label is printed twice with the router ID and password. Brilliant.

if youre buying this to assist in limiting online time or to ensure that certain devices are limited to "normal hours" this router is not for you. Very tough to set up parent controls to the point I gave up..

Every few hours, for a couple minutes this thing shut off the WiFi and would come back on in a few minutes. Not worth the hassle for that.
