I received this router/modem as a first look review program participant. The unit is elegant, clean, and compact. Set up was easy. I did not like the fact that there are only two Ethernet port. It was an little difficult trying to connect the coaxial cable to the cable input at the rear of the unit (small space) After using the unit for three weeks, I had a minor connectivity issue and had to reboot the unit.

This modem/router is nothing short of amazing. I had an older Motorola one. I have Xfinity internet. The internet would drop every 5 minutes or so. Ricardo at Best Buy told me the router is the most important piece of equipment in your house and recommended this one. It was easy to hook up (although I did place a call to Xfinity for assistance). Since then my internet hasn't dropped once, not once. Plus, the signal is way stronger than the old one and streaming is much much faster. It was great advice, and I'm so so so glad I bought it.

I thought my ISP was the problem.

5GHz! If your devices support this technology, use it! I am paying for 75mbps...my old router's throughput was only 20 mbps! Sad! After a day of troubleshooting, on my own and with ISP tech support, I realized that I needed a newer, faster, modem/router** to take advantage of the speed I was paying for. I am now achieving speeds upwards of 75mbps consistently all around my home. Rated 4 stars since I've only been using for one day. Purchase!

It's a whole new world for us. Internet speeds are noticeably faster, we never have dropped connections anymore, and we can have peace of mind knowing that we never have to walk over to the outlet to unplug the router and plug it back in again. This review is made only a week after having the device, hopefully it's life has some longevity because we love it so far.

I would like to thank NEGEAR for the sending me this great product and having the opportunity of being part of the NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program. I've been waiting to purchase a wireless router with built in cable modem but not willing to spend the money for it since I already spent $80 for the cable modem. So this was a blessing... Setup was fairly easy but needed to find a time when people were not home. I tried just connecting it and turning it on but wasn't able to get it working correctly, maybe I wasn't patient enough so I ended up calling Comcast and registering my MAC address with them. Once registered it seemed pretty simple with the wizard and all. Features - This modem/router does not take up as much space as my NightHawk and cable modem so it's a great space saver. Once the router is setup, I didn't expect to be as great as the NightHawk but the coverage into my bedroom from my den (opposite side of the house) seemed to be better than expected. The only thing that I would like to add though it why only 2 ports? That's why it's 4 stars. I know everyone is going wireless but I expected 4 like most routers and now I need to figure out if I want to setup a switch for my wired devices.

Amazing modem router. Works great on optimum internet service. This modem router have 16 X 4 channels means 16 channels for download and 4 channels for upload. even faster than rental modem optimum provides with 10$ charge a month. This also saves space since works as modem router. Also have ready share USB port where hard drive or flash drive can be plugged in to share media. Also have good range of Wi-Fi better than router optimum provides. This router range is good for midsize home. Also dual band supports both old and new devices. 1 year use is worth to cover monthly modem rental expense. I am using it from last four years and works great. No issue at all.

This router is definitely a good one for the price. it supports 5 GHz spectrum which instantly improved the signal quality throughout my home and now i get the speed advertised by my service provider. A no Brainer for me to replace your service provider/old 2.4 GHz router

A fast and easy to set up cable modem

I bought this cable modem to upgrade my previous router. I'm using with Comcast (Blast! package) and I reached download speeds of 150 Mbps. My local wireless network works at high speed, having 3 SmartTVs, a personal Cloud (NAS) and several wireless devices (iPad, phones, etc.). One of the TVs doesn't have cable, only internet and I receive 4K movies without any lag. I strongly recommend this product. Don't forget to download the NetGenie app on your Windows PC or smartphone to configure all the different options!

    I've had problems

This unit replaced a two year old Netgear gateway that was working on Time Warner/Spectrum perfectly. I purchased it because TW/Spectrum sent me an email indicating the old unit no longer met their requirements (not sure why). Anyway, I purchase this one after shopping around and installed it. Things were generally fine except the 2.4 GHz signal showed significantly slower speeds than the 5GHz. I pay for 100MB dl and got that, or faster with the 5GHz access and ethernet direct wire. The 2.4 was half that or less. I contact Netgear support and they opened a ticket. We exchanged information for several days with them recommending a number of changes in the setting. Nothing seemed to improve (indeed the 2.4 was now slower). They advised me to do a factory reset. I did. Now the unit is basically dead. Waiting for a response from Netgear on how to get it replaced. Back to using my old gateway. Not happy. Other issues with this model is that there are only two ethernet connection on the back (old unit had 4) and they are very difficult to access. Plugging in is not a big problem, but unplugging requires very small fingers. Same is true for the power cord and cable input. Design is poor.

Worked Well Until the Week the Warranty Ended

The C6250 modem/router seemed fairly solid. The Firmware was missing some functionality I expected from my old Asus router, but nothing that would steer me below a 4/5. The most distressing feature to be lacking was any sort of QoS functionality, but who knows. Maybe that was buried or non-visible to the end-user. The device was otherwise solid, the upgrade allowed me to take full advantage of my 200mb connection at home, and to ditch the modem I rented from Brighthouse. Unfortunately, I bought this expecting to get a couple years about it. 2-3 would have been enough to pay off the device with what I saved from renting modems before (and with better performance). No such luck. I began experiencing issues with my internet on Saturday, 05/28. I mistakenly attributed it to my ISP, knowing that in the past, my IP has been spammed with random DoS attacks (which Brighthouse refused to help with), and random outages as they expanded their local coverage. But the problems persisted and grew worse. On Tuesday, on my tablet, I noticed that my wifi was disconnecting randomly. My desktop computer was unaffected this whole time. This was my clue that the Wifi was the issue and not my ISP. Then I started seeing the AppleTV notification that the WiFi had disconnected. And it got worse... And worse... And worse... Yesterday it took 3 hours to watch a 2-hour movie because we kept losing wifi. And all of this began 24 hours before my warranty ended...

Worst modem router i have ever used.

I brought this because i switched to comcast with their 100 Mbps plan. It claims to do 300 mbps on 2.4 ghz. I am barely getting 30 mbps using on WiFi literally 1 feet away from it. It claims to be used for large house, i have 1500 square foot house and i can get range upstairs. I called Netgear and had them replace it with a new one but the new one has the same problems. Getting this replaced was not easy as well. I had to talk to multiple costumer service agents after the first one was not specific about the directions on getting this shipped to them for a replacement. Once i requested to talk to their supervisor because i had recently bought it within 2 months they waived the fees off. They will only pay for the shipping for the router within the first 90 days after that you are screwed. New one gets range even outside the house as well but it says that internet may not be available. I am gonna turn the WiFi signal and use this piece of as just a modem and buy a cheap router. If you are buying a router either buy a cheap one or get a warranty through the store.

Stopped working after 3 months, Netgear is no help

Bought this modem-router end of June and by Mid-September, it stopped connecting to all of the devices in our home minus 1 laptop. When I called Best Buy for assistance, they told me to call Netgear given the 1 year manufacturer warranty. When I called Netgear, they said that the manufacture warranty does not apply in this case, and that non-hardware technical assistance expires after 3 months (for which i was JUST outside the window). They said they detected what my issue was but would NOT help me unless I paid an additional $50. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. They should stand behind their product. I am disgusted by this, and also by Best Buy for not standing behind a product that they sell.

After months of having our old router dropping connection we switched to this one and couldn't be happier. Fast speed and after several months we've still had no issues.
