Good substitute for cable company's modem

I chose to buy this instead. I can't speak to longevity, but it works at least as well as the cable co's modem and BB was willing to price match which saved me $10.00. I like doing business with BB and I will continue to do so.

So then my wife went and bought this new one. It works very well just like the old one did before it broke. I would highly recommend this. it was easy to hook up. And the tech-support was awesome. Would highly recommend to a friend.

Had issues setting up, not as easy as expected. Went on Netgear site per instructions and was totally redirected to a non Netgear site. Website was alittle difficult to navigate thru but after that , works great, no complaints at this moment in time.

I work from home with multiple software applications and needed a good modem/router. Very easy to set up and to get my wireless printer connected. Follow your printers instructions. Glad I invested!

I did the setup myself, and the setup wasn't hard. It was pretty straightforward. Registering the device with Xfinity was a pain and took about 45 minutes. The device does get really hot.
