Range?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this combo cable modem/wireless router to replace my wireless Netgear router that quite working. It works Ok as a cable modem but not so good in regards to the wireless end. I live in an average size one floor ranch house and the range is pretty poor compared to the old Netgear wireless router. Even in a room not that far from the router and the signal quality is poor. I'm very disappointed in that regard. I guess in retrospect I should have just stayed with the SECTV supplied modem and bought a new wireless router instead. I should have figured that when you combine two products together that something is going to suffer/be compromised. I was hoping the dual band would assist more in that respect, but no. Unfortunately by the time I discovered how poor it performed in this regard I was past the return period so I'll just have to live with it for now. So, if you need a lot of range/distance or have a large home, I would keep looking for something that performs better!!
